  • Sharing some of my current in progress paintings, a small addition to my art studio, and a big fail I had while trying to create some plein air art.
I am an artist residing in sunny, warm [humid] florida! My paintings are heavily inspired by nature and its beauty. I work primarily in oil paint, and sometimes watercolor. I prefer to work in a mostly realistic style and occasionally experiment outside of that. I post oil painting time lapses, painting lessons and tutorials, drawings, art tips, and occasionally artist vlogs where I share bits of my life as an artist. Creating art is my greatest passion and I'm thankful for the chance to share it with you. ♥

The story behind how this artwork came to be is so powerful. It's such an accurate depiction of how life can be sometimes. Everything from how your day started with the simple and pure intention to paint a beautiful picture, then the incident with the drone to the wounds and the bleeding and then breaking your glasses followed by the anger and frustration you felt. Then taking some time away from the painting and coming back to it some time later and taking the mess from the painting dropping onto your pallet and turning it into a beautiful abstract painting. Wow!! I love that you didn't throw the painting away, but you took the mess, adapted a new idea to it, transforming it into something totally different but equally beautiful. Sometimes life throws hurdles at us that can be incredibly challenging. This artwork to me is a reminder that if we keep on going, no matter how messy life can get, it's never too late to turn it into a beautiful picture. Thanks for sharing the "behind the scenes" of this story.

I had a "close to finished" piece fall into my pallet also. I quickly got up from my chair to catch a friends dog getting into something and bumped it and it toppled over. So I did the same thing with a pallet knife, it's a little different from my style. Like your sunflower pieces. Now it's one of my most popular and loved pieces from everyone haha ❤️ now I try and add some sort pallet knife, or something I don't usually do in each piece.
