Hi Chap yes agree the display does not always show the signal either. Have got its younger brother R-8500 as well I personally like switches and buttons but I also like snazzy displays happy hunting Best Regards Martin King G1VYK. 😀
I need to play with SDR Console a little more to get the display to show the level of detail that I have in HDSDR, especially in the waterfall. If dialed in right, HDSDR's waterfall can show you really weak carriers that might need more attention if they grow stronger. Plus I like the HDSDR scheduler for setting up IQ recordings as well, but need to check the latest SDRC to see how it records. I guess I just like what's familiar, and what still works after all these years. :^)
Really interesting receiver … although still playing with the Elad an inspired purchase after watching many of your videos👍 Another application is SDR Control for iOS and Mac it’s not cheap but I do use with the iCom 705 and it’s very iCom like, extremely full featured and listed to control the IC-R8600 🤔
Thanks for your comments. I exchanged my Elad FDM DUO + another reciever for the IC-R8600. Unfortunately, the Icom is not as sensitive as the Elad on HF which I can't live with. So, although I still want to keep the R8600 - it's still a great wideband radio, I'm going to buy another Elad FDM DUO - but the 'r' version. 73
@@OxfordShortwaveLog That’s interesting to hear your thoughts on the sensitivity of the Elad compared to the iCom. Try to have a look at the SDR Control app for Mac or iOS it’s very good 👍… great channel 🤩
Really cool!
Thanks, David!
He gives a good commentary nice one sir
Thank you kindly Sir!
