Usually people tend to Michael's needs because they're being polite but Erin is in her own entire world, therefore completely defusing Michael's whole show. That's why he seems like that at first, but that's also why it opens the possibilty for him to actually open up and show the man behind the act with her
Definitely. I stopped watching in season 8 when it originally aired. Came back for the finale though. Right now I'm going all the way through the whole thing, and I remember why I stopped watching. I've pushed through it this time, but Erin stood out above probably every other character. It's kind of a shame we got so little Michael-Erin time.
Right?! Michael and Erin together were great! Their relationship worked so well because Erin’s personality already worked great with Michael and on top of that, she sees him as a father figure and that adds a lot of heart and meaning to their relationship.

Jim's like, "All you had to do was let them play and keep them distracted for, like, thirty minutes and let them wear themselves out." That’s the best description I could give her character, and that’s why she’s one of my favorite characters in The Office. Also I like the father and daughter like relationship between her and Michael.
