- In honor of Marvin Hamlisch, one of the great composers of our time, this is a clip from the BELL TELEPHONE JUBILEE TV special aired 09/09/76. Here Liza Minnelli and Marvin reminisce about old times before they perform together "If You Could Read My Mind / Come Back To Me". The ending bit of dialogue is particularly touching. Rest in peace, Marvin. Thank you for all the glorious music, which we will never forget...
Blessed to have been brought up with such legends to be in awe of!
"To be in awe of" really rolls off the tongue.
Dos grandes Genios musicales..m felicidades.
❤❤❤
Thank you both for being the way you were and always will be
Liza has outlived virtually everyone in her life: Marvin, Pappy, Sammy, and many, many others. GO, LIZA!!!
Pappy (Bill LaVornia and Sammy Davis Jnr) were a lot older than her. Your comment is really odd, it’s like saying “yay you go girl! All your friends are dead”) UA-cam comments really give you an insight into how the majority of people aren’t very sensitive.
LOVE LIZA!!! LOVE THEM BOTH!!!!
That's talent
thank a lot for posting this...make me happy
When I see this I realise why I fell in love with Liza when I was 14 !!!
I was 15 !!!
We
Absolutely fantastic! I suggest anyone interested in hearing about their friendship should read Marvin's autobiography -- he recounts that episode where he and Liza went to record some songs so she could give them to her mother for Christmas so she could show Judy what she wanted to do with her life. It's a very touching, wonderful tale told from his perspective.
YES...:) THANK U
and of course Liza was right, He was the best ever in the world. RIP Marvin Hamlisch.
She was 34.
Liza was actually 30 - she was born on March 12, 1946. Great clip, thank you for sharing!
He was about 32 in this.. and Liza must have been the same because she mentions that they were both 15 when they made the recordings... both in their prime but we never realise at the time
Liza in her prime was peachy.... and of course Mr. Hamlisch was wonderful
