Play along with this INCREDIBLE smooth, bebop jazz tenor sax improv solo on the tune "You Stepped Out Of A Dream", played by the great Larry McKenna, from a 2014 live performance in Glen Mills, PA.
Philadelphia-based saxophonist LARRY MCKENNA recently passed away, and his influence on the jazz community is incalculable. He played with everyone, knew every tune in the book, and influenced the lives of countless jazz students with his teaching.

Great playing. Definitely a disciple of Dexter Gordon.
amazing..play it 2 frets down on guitar ..with Mckenna.....
Truth from the late great master!
The great Larry McKenna! Bless him!
Thanks for this
thank you very much, great transcription, we can get it by paying for it.
Thanks for doing this!
I like your sax sound
Good job transcribing a fine solo, but I don't understand why you didn't use the key signature of D for the tenor part. It was so odd at my first glance to see the one chord (D major) have an f# with an accidental on the third. Just my opinion!
Hey! Thanks for the comment! I think it's a preference, so totally valid if you'd prefer to see the D major key signature. Since this tune/solo has so much chromaticism, I just found it easier to keep it a blank key signature and write in all of the needed accidentals.
Great solo with good voice leading. Is that a high schooler playing? Great tone and articulation if so
Not a high schooler. it’s the great Larry McKenna
Yes he’s a schooler. In that he schooled all of us!
