He always had such a smooth thoughtful sound to his saxophone I always think about him and Pepper Adams the great baritone saxophone player as not really getting the recognition they both deserved. But there were so many great players back then😀🙏♥️♥️🎷🎷🎷🎷🎼🎼🎼

Anyone know what song he's quoting at measure 425? Sounds so familiar, but can't quite place it.
I don’t think it’s a song fragment. It’s the opening melodic figure over a major instead of minor chord. Clever and organic.

this recordings are slightly out of tune... Must have been when proccesed to digital....
Good observation, I haven't really noticed it cause it's recording is slightly different
