      Yes, that is possible. Your salary will depend on your grade and the hours you work.

      Hi, yes you can do extra shifts as locum work to increase your salary. You can work more than 40hrs per week. However it still needs to be safe - enough rest time between shifts.

      @@Samayga The locum rate varies for different hospital and how urgent the shifts needs to be filled. The usual rates, SHO around£45/hr, Reg around £75/hr. You can do as many shifts as you want, as long as you stay within the safe number of hours.

      Hi, it is normally 7 years in total after FY2. After FY2, you do internal medicine training (IMT) (3 years) and then apply for higher medical specialty training (4 years). MRCP is normally done during IMT.

    Ma’am can you please make a video on what to do after cleaning PLAB and working there ? I mean what are the pathways after getting job? Like should we join MRCP or MRCS or we can just continue as physician forever or other options if any ... BTW very informative video like always 😇🙂

      Hi, it depends on what specialty you want to do? After PLAB, apply for a trust grade (non-training job) here. After working here as a trust grade doctor for 6- 12 months, you can apply for specialty training to your desired specialty. If you choose not to enter a specialty training programme, you can continue working in a non-training trust grade job.

      @@Ck_dEviL Hi, non-training doctor jobs are easy to get. There is a shortage of doctors in the UK, so as long as you have done PLAB and registered with the GMC, you will most certainly get a job here. Nope, Brexit will not have a huge impact on international doctors.

      If you want to work and settle in UK, it is best to come here as soon as possible and train in the UK.

      @@rajnim9199 Local government wants everyone to use public transport to keep road usage down, so they limit the size of hospital car parks. Public hospitals have been pretending to be businesses since the 1980s, so they sold off a lot of their staff housing and got commercial firms to run their car parks to make a profit. Parking fees were eased during covid-19 but that has stopped.

    It is a very informative video thank you for that! I have a question and personally wanted to get your advise. I am a high school student and want to work in UKin the future as a doctor, med schook in UK is super expensive. My parent can afford this, but still it is very expensive to spend just for uni. So would you recommend studying in my home country and then come to UK or start studying in UK at the first place? So my question is dou you think that med school fee in UK is worth it? It’s around 35k-45k a year.

      Probably not worth it. You can always come to the UK to work as a doctor after you have done MBBS in your home country.

    Oh my gosh, I check doctor salaries for Malaysia on the net and it says it is typically 100k RM pm, it is that way much. ps: I am an engineer, just checked it after watching this video

I am EU graduate and what do you think about getting CESR route to anesthesia , I do not have experience on it I do have 2 years in A&E experience. How long would it take for me to have speciality training in anesthesia? I do also want to ask if you ever become CESR specialist do you get a diploma to come back to your country and be specialist?

      Hi, if you have not done anaesthesia training, it is best to do the full anaesthesia specialty training here and not via the CESR route. It will take 7 years. You just need to apply for the anaesthesia specialty training programme. Specialty training in UK is not considered a masters or an MD. It is best to check with your home country if the specialty training in UK is recognised before you start.

      Hi, your CV/portfolio should demonstrate your commitment to the specialty. Try and do audits/quality improvement projects/posters/presentations/papers/attend courses related to the specialty.

      If you are an international doctor, I would suggest to do a non-training SHO post for 6-12 months before applying for a training post. This will give you NHS experience and help you prepare for the core training applications and interview.

      Hi, thank you. After GMC registration, apply for a FY2 jobs here in the UK. After FY2, apply for paediatric specialty training (7 years). After that, you become a paediatric consultant.

      Hi, yes to enter specialty training, you need GMC registration. To obtain GMC registration, you need PLAB or one of the UK specialty exam like MRCP/MRCS/MRCPCH etc. Specialty training in UK is not like the US system. Scores do not matter. To enter your desired specialty you need to have a good CV/portfolio and pass the interview.

      It will depend on you CV and experience. You can try sending you CV to BDI resourcing. They are a recruitment agency and help international doctors work in the UK. They might be able to have a look at you CV and suggest the best job for you. bdiresourcing.com

      Hi, neurosurgery can be quite competitive but it is still possible for imgs. You need to have a strong cv/portfolio to apply.

      Hi, after PLAB, apply for FY2 grade jobs in the UK. After FY2 (1 year), you can apply for OBGYN specialty training. OBGYN specialty training is for 7 years.

      @@poulomimondal3495 Dermatology is no a run-through programme. After FY2, apply for internal medicine training (IMT) 3 years. After IMT, apply for higher medical specialty training in dermatology (4 years).

      1. It will depend on your CV and clinical experience. Most likely ST3 or above.

      3. You can apply for jobs here after obtaining GMC registration. Not sure about career prospects for obgyn, as it is not my field.

      ​@@worldfacts5163 Hi, it depends on what specialty you want to pursue? Doctors do the MRCP while doing internal medicine training(3 years). If you have done any of the UK specialty exam like the MRCP/MRCS/MRCOG etc, you do not need to do the PLAB exam to register with the GMC.

    Hello Mam, my query is..I've done my MBBS and one year internship from India. Now I'm thinking about PLAB along with preparing for my PG entrance exam in India itself. Being Not economically very strong, will I be paid in UK after PLAB or I'll have to pay first for fees, rent and other expenses??
    Also, what will be my job there? Will I be appointed as a doctor there in some hospital or will I be doing post graduation from some institute like in India?

      Gluten free food is widely available in the UK. Junior doctors in the UK are not homeless or starving, so it must be possible for them to live in the UK.

      Hi, you can work as long as you want in a non-training job. Most doctors work for 6-12 months while they prepare for training job applications.       @@basnetprembahadur9013 Hi, after FY2, apply for internal medicine training (IMT) (3 years). After IMT, apply for higher medical specialty training (4 years), then you will become a consultant. It normally takes 7 years to become a consultant in the UK.
