Hi, yes to enter specialty training, you need GMC registration. To obtain GMC registration, you need PLAB or one of the UK specialty exam like MRCP/MRCS/MRCPCH etc. Specialty training in UK is not like the US system. Scores do not matter. To enter your desired specialty you need to have a good CV/portfolio and pass the interview.
Thank you so much just one more question since i found your videos so helpful. what is preferable for speciality training among mrcp, mrcs, plab or others
@@farahubaid6963 It depends what specialty you want to pursue?
That's really indepth
Thanks alot
You're welcome.
Hello maam.
I have completed my internal medicine training from india.
So after giving mrcp can i directly apply AS A CONSULTANT ?
Can i skip ST3-7 ?
It will depend on you CV and experience. You can try sending you CV to BDI resourcing. They are a recruitment agency and help international doctors work in the UK. They might be able to have a look at you CV and suggest the best job for you. bdiresourcing.com
Okay ma'am . but is it possible to directly work as a consultant ?
@@Killermachine77123Most internal medicine consultants in UK have at least 7 years on internal medicine experience. Hi Dr Lavnya, thanks for all the informative videos!
I am a medical student from India, and I was wondering, how difficult is it for an IMG to land a surgical post like neurosurgery in the UK?
Hi, neurosurgery can be quite competitive but it is still possible for imgs. You need to have a strong cv/portfolio to apply.
@@lavnya70 thank you!
It would be amazing if you could make a video on how to strengthen your CV, as many of us IMG's aren't too familiar with it.

Hi Dr Lavnya...I was wondering how difficult it might be for a mbbs passed IMG to land a course in obgy...plus approximately how long the wait might be after passing plab
Hi, after PLAB, apply for FY2 grade jobs in the UK. After FY2 (1 year), you can apply for OBGYN specialty training. OBGYN specialty training is for 7 years.
And training in dermatology?

I've done MS Gynecology in India. Now preparing for mrcog..

1. Which ST band i'll be included in after mrcog part 3
2. What i'll be paid
3. What is the probability of getting through and getting enrolled in UK after mrcog
4. Career prospects
Thnx in advance
