Thank you so much! My check engine and vsc light came on out of nowhere. Had Advance Auto Parts read the codes, which led me to this vid. Checked my carpets - sure enough, they were wet to the touch. After watching your vid, I was able to clear the clogged drain line in my 2011 Corolla and after 60 miles, the dashlights cleared on their own. Really appreciate you.

Clicked the video not expecting much, but when you panned the camera down to the wet floor i was like hoooly shiiit thats whats happening to my car. thanks for this video. the water is leaking down into the o2 sensor underneath the driver side floor board
great video, working on a 2015 Lexus RX350 with the same codes. Voltage is on a constant 1.275 so I'm thinking the same issue as you, carpet wet as well, will start work on it tomorrow
thank you thank you! This is exactly what is going on with my 2011 corolla, except when i pulled the hose on the passenger side, nothing dripped out. I'll go check for moisture in that sensor plug.
@@VoltageDropDiagnostics I do have the wet floorboards, and there was a lot of what looked like condensation right above that connector. I dried it out, then wrapped it in electrical tape. I'll see today if the light/code comes back.

Fantastic priceless little video. Thanks a million. Now, how exactly did you clear the line? Was algie holding water back like in an house A/C? My daughter recently drove over a small amount of standing water and I am thinking the two events are related. I'll be looking at the drain line tonight. Great job.
@@JosephDicasio No, not for me. Further testing proved out that the O2 sensor heater is failing--it works and won't, lights are coming on and off irregularly. The Rav4 is built differently and the water leaking isn't an issue. Its similar, but there isn't a connection right there like the Corolla.
Thank you for this tip, it really helped because I looked at so many videos but no one ever mentioned this. I continued to wonder why my carpet was wet. now that I emptied the hose what can I do to remove the check engine and trac off light?
Not gonna lie, I tossed a PCM in one years and years ago back when PCM's where on MAC due to the 90L. Found out after this exact situation. Good tip for anyone!
I have a 2011 Corolla which is same as 2012 which I recently purchased from a dealer. Couple months later noticed smell in car. I had wet carpet everywhere and a deadmouse under my carpet at the same time. I couldn't tell if the smell was from the mouse or the wet carpet or a combination of the two. I also couldn't figure out where the water came from. Fast forward a couple weeks and I got check engine light and these two codes in your video are what came up when it was hooked up to the scanner. I came across this video of yours. I had no idea the moisture could be coming from something like this. So I should empty that heater box with that tube under the passenger carpet? Why would something inside the car hanging over electronics be filling up with water? If I empty that will that fix this problem? Would I have to do anything else or replace or fix anything else. What causes that moisture to drip from there? Is this going to be a recurring thing I have to worry about? Please help me with any additional information you can give me.
IHello. I found the clogged drain also. Did the water ruin the o2 sensor and needs to be replaced? I cleaned cannon plug . still have codes P038 and P0607. also track light is on??
Track light and check engine come on as a team on a lot of toyotas. It's a safety thing to drive back to safety with trac control off(light is on when it's off). When the codes clear out, all those lights go away
Strange place to put something that fills with water. However I just got this code today. The carpet not wet, but I'm going to drain it anyway and replace the O2 sensor
Good to see you posting a video again! The same thing happens on TSXs and TLs, only that’s where they put the PCM, right under the heater box. That gets expensive 🤣 Thanks for the tip, I’ll be sure to check that on any corollas code up for that.
Bingo! You nailed it right in the head! Thank you! I drained a lot of water from the hose now my question is, does that fix the problem or the parts still need to be replaced?
Having the same issue in my 2010 corolla, leaking water, cleared the drain line of about 4 cups of water. Replaced the downstream o2 sensor, unplugged the battery for about half an hour and the lights were gone. 3 starts later, check engine light, flashing vsc light. Any thoughts? Codes were p0138,P0607, c1201 and c1241
Hey, I appreciate the tips. I actually managed to already know what the root cause of the issue was before I even went into investigating the codes once the drain blockage is taken care of do the indicators turn off on their own eventually or do I basically need to unplug the oxygen sensor and plug it back in like how you did?
Thank you so much. I had changed both O2 sensors and it was driving me crazy and when I changed the bottom one I did notice a bit of wetness and I did the best to dry it and wow it fixed the problem 2010 corolla but no water came out the hose
Marco, take a pipe cleaner and poke it up into the heater box housing. Nothing came out of my hose but when I poked a pipe cleaner up into the heater box housing 4.5 pints of water came out. Black crud came out with the first jar of water.
I have a 2010 Camry. The engine light and traction light came on. The car doesmt seem to be behaving bad Everything seems good. Used a friends scanner and it said P0607.

Where does that water come from? And also: is this on the driver side or on the passenger side? I currently have this problem with the oxygen sensor and the mat on the passenger side is wet.
In the end, did you find out what caused the drain to back up? I mean once you pulled the tube from the floor it flowed. I have a similar situation but the hose seemed open, yet the box was full and leaking out the seams, in addition to just right of the box. Should I ream a wire up the hose?

When the air conditioning is on, the air conditioning unit creates condensation. The condensation usually runs out of the drain and onto the ground under the vehicle. But because the drain got clogged, it built up in the heater box and leaked out of a seam.

Where is the water coming from...why would it be draining inside?
When the air conditioning is on, the air conditioning unit creates condensation. The condensation usually runs out of the drain and onto the ground under the vehicle. But because the drain got clogged, it built up in the heater box and leaked out of a seam.
@@VoltageDropDiagnostics I see thanks..it looked inside

Yup, it is

@@VoltageDropDiagnostics so the o2 sensor connector is under the carpet ? On Lexus I think you have to take the seat out to get to the 02 sensor wire.
