Have had p0137 and p0607 before. Went out on its own. Now only p0607. This information was so well presented! Thank you! Have to do some exploration now.
Had this happen to me today but about 3 miles after I hit a large puddle of water. P0607, P0136 and P0138. Both upstream and downstream sensors have been on the car for 167K miles. I have had both Denso sensors in my Amazon cart for 5 years. I changed them on car at 77K and now car has 244K. Camry. I am going to replace both.
I think the big puddle was your problem, not likely both just failed but if you want to change them it’s a good idea being you have a lot of mileage on them anyway.
@@motorcarnut I am resigned to say the water was my issue. I have cleared the codes and for 2 days now there are no pending or active codes. Sensors have been ordered. Denso only. Car seems to run better since clearing these codes. Looking forward to better gas mileage with new sensors
@@motorcarnut I think I have the same issue, I have had P0037, P0138 and P0137 but no P0607 for a while but I drove the car in puddle of water for a long drive because it was raining and there was pool of water on the road, then bang there was P0607 along with other 3. But the car drive and run like nothing is wrong with it but I think I will fix the O2 sensor issue, thank you
@@motorcarnut It worked brotha! Changed it out. Got the part, sprayed penetrating oil, & little sensor at first but got it. 10 min process. Thank you! Truly means a lot, God bless 🙏🏼
I have same codes (P0607 and P0138) but on a 2016 rav4. Should I follow same advice as in video? Looks like those Ravs are 3rd Gen. Thankyou for your expertise! Edit: the check engine light is ON along with the AWD light too.
Sure, no problem, Yes, the reasons for those codes are the same in any generation, the AWD light is on because of those codes, fix the engine codes and should go away by itself.
@@motorcarnutI replaced the O2 sensor today. P0138 dissapeared. The ECM code (P0607) was still up so I deleted it and so far it hasnt come back. Hevent had the car out driving just idling. Do you normally have to delete the ECM code?
If you have both the p0607 and the p0138 codes come up and you clear the codes and they do t come back on once you start the car up again can you just forget about them?
Also the exhaust and converters and alternator and 02 sensor was replaced back in April of 2024 (this year) The car is a corolla 2010 with a push button start.. Wondering if the car was turned on and quickly put into drive could this have caused the p0607. & p0138 errors ? They have been cleared as I said and are not back?
Hey I have a 2015 toyota yaris and have had these codes pop up but only when I haven't driven the car over 3 or so days. After I clear the code it doesn't come back. Any ideas on why this would be happening?
These codes are related to a bad ECM ( computer) but most times it’s not. Make sure you don’t have any LED’S installed and if there is a short from taillight to the brake light circuit inside the bulb this could trigger those codes as well. Also make sure battery is good as well as the alternator.

Glad it was helpful! And really appreciate your feedback!

@dazz4real try that those codes may go away after that.
Good explanation
Thank you
Thank you Sir!
Sure, no problem!
@@motorcarnut just purchased an 02 sensor and felt confident on which one to get! God Bless 🙏🏼

If the codes are not coming back on don’t worry about it. Starting the car and putting it in drive would not have the light come back on.

Yes, the video I made
@@motorcarnutor is it still the issue you addressed even with it not popping up during regular use.
Then has to be diagnosed with scan tool and reading data to see what is going on.
Hello I really need your help I have a 2008 toyota matrix with code p0606 and p0607

I have the P0138 and C1280. Replaced the 02 sensor with a new denso and codes came back. Any ideas?
Their not related codes, could be other O2 sensor you didn’t replace, got to monitor them with a scan tool to know for sure.
@Motorcarnut Thanks for the reply. We'll the codes were for bank 1 sensor 2. I replaced it with new denso and same code appeared
@VladimirKolombet sometimes it’s the other one but should be diagnosed with a scan tool and see what’s going on
@@motorcarnut Appreciate the response. Thanks
@VladimirKolombet no problem
I got only p0607 code what I have to do
Try what is stated in my video. Make sure there are no leaks in the air intake or a bad MAF. Have another video on that too.
Test the O² sensor don't just replace it.
Correct
