    I made a new video to address the headboard wobble issue! It's found here: ua-cam.com/video/iwEuCVGTv9M/v-deo.html

    Thanks so much for this video! It was very helpful for us. I initially tried to move the mattress itself and once I (quickly) realized that wasn't going to work, I found your video and realized it wasn't so bad just moving the bed. Moving it all back with the headboard installed...no much fun, but it's done now and looks good. Also, nice tip to leave the headboard a few inches from the wall so it won't hit the wall every time we move.

    Nice job Ed! I wasn't looking forward to installing a headboard to the Sleep Number bed, but your tips and tricks on how to do it will certainly be very helpful. That was a very important tip at the end of the video. Definitely important to know that the base sits in a channel and slot on the frame. Thanks!

    Very helpful, thanks! I just bought a sleep number and waiting for its delivery, mean while we are shopping for alternative headboards so this was helpful to see the size range we need to get and how the whole thing works.

      Thanks for watching and commenting! One of the installers asked if I wanted them to install the brackets, but silly me, I passed, thinking it would cost a lot. You may consider asking about having the installers do that when they deliver and set up your bed. If they don’t charge much for installing them it may be worth it up front especially if you have back or neck issues.

      @@EdBusacker Funny you mention that… I went this morning and made the purchase. When I said I wanted the bracket kit they said the setup crew would install them just not attached to headboard.

      That’s half the battle. Thanks for clarifying. You’ll have the parts already installed and just need to have someone hold the headboard while you attach it.

      Thank you for watching and commenting! I found a product that helps stop the headboard from moving around. I filmed the installation, but need to tweak it and test a little longer before posting it. If interested, here is the product:
      BEDEXUT 4 Pack of 12 Screws Bed Frame Anti-Shake Tool, Adjustable Threaded Headboard Stoppers Fixer, Bedside Antishake Telescopic Support Stabilizer for Room Wall, Beds, Cabinets, Sofas. (27-114mm)
      www.amazon.com/gp/product/B086YN5LJ2/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
      The tweak I intend to do is shorten it so it's just one segment instead of 3 for each of the 4 units. This should allow us to move the bed and headboard to about 1 inch from the wall. This item acts kind of like the 4 legs of a table on its side, where each part is in contact with the wall with a soft pad. I installed it with the 3 sections (bed was approximately 3 inches from the wall since the headboard installation due to the movement), but once installed, I thought, that's silly to keep it that far away! Now I can move it closer! Will post very soon.

    I just got my bed and was set up by the so-called pros. They installed the brackets but would not connect to the headboard because I needed bolts. Glad I saw this because my headboard is also loose so I quit trying to fix. Bed is ok but between delayed delivery, headboard brackets and a bed that won’t inflate I would never buy this again. $$$$$ and you do all the work and the repair. Customer support is non-existent.

      I’m sorry you had a bad experience. I wouldn’t go back to a regular bed myself. It relieves my chronic back pain so I can sleep well.

    Gonna be doing this myself in a few days so thx for making this!
    Is your base adjustable? If not, do you think it would make much of a difference other than the clearance required between the mattress and headboard to move up/down?

    • @dankennedy5388
      @dankennedy5388 4 роки тому

      @@EdBusacker Yeah, that was the question - so if you had an adjustable base (able to move up and down), do you think the install would have been any different (i.e. different bracket, or anything else)?

    Thanks - how about a way to install a footboard also? Sleep number doesn't seem to provide an option for that.

    • @EdBusacker
      @EdBusacker  Рік тому +1

      Hi @morph222! You're welcome. I can see why you're asking about footboard brackets, as there is contradictory information at sleepnumber.com. I googled it, and on this page support.sleepnumber.com/hc/en-us/articles/115000159394-Attach-a-Headboard#:~:text=If%20you%20have%20a%20Sleep,headboard%20brackets%20for%20Smart%20Beds. there is a note that there are brackets for headboards and footboards, but if you follow the link it only talks about headboards. If you go to this page www.sleepnumber.com/products/smart-bed-headboard-brackets#reviews-loader and search by hitting Ctrl and F and type in "foot" you'll see others asking the same question, and the answer is no. I took a picture of the frame at the foot of my Sleep Number bed, and it has the same holes I attached the headboard brackets to at the head of the bed, so it looks like it might be possible using the headboard brackets. You would need to measure the distance to see if it would hold it far enough away from the frame. I would recommend calling Sleep Number to ask or using the Contact Us link at their website to ask, just to be sure.

    • @morph222
      @morph222 Рік тому +1

      @@EdBusacker Thanks. I will call them. One difference is that there are no slots to put a bracket through. The frame also looks a little different at the foot end.

    Do you need a headboard for an adjustable bed or can it be any headboard?

    • @EdBusacker
      @EdBusacker  2 роки тому

      The headboard can be from a traditional bed. Ours was from our previous traditional bed with box spring and mattress.

      Thanks for the comment!
      Go to sleepnumber.com
      At the top, click More, then click Bed Accessories
      Click HEADBOARD BRACKETS SMART BED to see the brackets I purchased and installed.
      A direct link to the item is here:
      www.sleepnumber.com/products/headboard-brackets-smart-bed
      The headboard does move a bit if you move around on the bed (like when you flip over), so if you install them, be sure it's not right up against the wall or it will hit the wall and make unwanted noise.
      I didn't look for other brackets, since these were made for my bed, so these are the only ones I can talk about.
      Good luck!

    Hi this vdo was good. I am having a same problem for wobbly headboard. Wanted to know if that could be fixed. The help would be highly appreciated

    • @EdBusacker
      @EdBusacker  3 роки тому

      Sorry, but I was not able to stop the headboard from moving a little when we shift positions. The best thing I think you can do is to move the bed away from the wall a bit so the headboard doesn’t hit the wall when you move around.
