- We've tested several versions of Whittley's SL25 over the years - this one comes with the brand new Mercury 400HO 5.7L V-10 4-stroke outboard.
Comes with comparative performance stats with twin 150s, single 300 V08 and single 400 V-10.
Looked surprisingly smooth and quiet! Thanks for the look!
So what’s the economy at 25kn. 14kn is barely on the plane. It’s a bit useless giving us that figure.
OCD, why didn't you test the V10 at 3500rpm like the others?
I was thinking the same, they must pick a speed or rpm and give figures for each, not just show the best result for the new product. And 27kmh is a very low speed, might as well put a 150 on the boat 🤣. I have a SL26 with 300 hp 6.2 litre v8 stern drive with bravo 2 leg and between 30-50 kmh I’m getting 1.3 to 1.4 km per litre. That equates to 3000 to 3500 rpm. Over 3500 rpm fuel burn increases slightly but it’s still good for such a heavy boat. Around 60 kmh I get 1 km per litre wot is 75 kmh for .7 litre.
@@Cammo-vp1gl yep old mate that does these tests always seems to dind a creative way to make the motor hes paid to test sound better than previous ones hey. Even if it involves traveling at snail pace to get the right figueres
Never warmed to Whittleys. Neither a cruiser or a fishing boat in my view.
So your saying you get 51% further in the same time using the Yamaha, and still use only use $4.00 more fuel. Wow those yams are great!
You can spin those figures as much as you like either way depending on your preferences.
One Day...☀️💫🌏🎣🐠🐟🐬🐳
Probably 300k plus as tested.
How about some figuers at a normal cruise speed. Their best economy id pointless. Noone is doing most of their miles at 27kph
No one cruises at 27 kph take the 400 up to 40 or 50 kph and it will have worse economy than the other 2 set ups 😊
Nope,
Yep
