LOL @ myself scrambling to get out of your way after not making it up that little tricky climb 😂 Awesome meeting you on the trail! I’m sure I’ll run into you again! And sick vid as always 🤘🏼
@@C_LaFonte Chris!! It was a pleasure meeting you, hopefully we do run into each other again soon! That little section is so tricky, idk how but I finally got it and I’m glad you got to see it haha. Stay rad bro! 🤘🏼 Also, the bronco is sick!!
@ Haha! For sure! I did make it up my second lap lol. Thanks, she’s old but makes an awesome MTB transporter and a little more fun in the summer with the top off!
Hy Chuck!! Every time I see you send your bike down a "collection" of extraordinary rocks that shouldn't be possible to ride I feel like I'm gonna watch you "crash and burn"...and then I remember: Luís, it's just Chuck, the man revels in this nightmares! And always comes out on top!! Always nerve racking watching you ride like that, my God! Lol! So, the latest news from my neck of the woods...Remember the last time we spoke I told you that I finally had my last bike being built? A Wilier Urta Max SLR, the XC World Cup frame from team Wilier Pirelli, Rockshox Sidluxe ultimate 190x45mm shock, blue crush Sid Ultimate race day 2 120m fork, 140mm Syncros 1.5S Duncan dropper(and not the 100mm one the frame came with....), a set of top Newmen carbon wheels weighing 1325 grams, Sram Hs2 rotors(160mm in the back and 200mm front), Magura Trail SL brakes with carbon levers, the lightest aluminum stem on sale(minus 7 degrees downward angle), 70mm length from Newmen, 25mm rise carbon handlebar also from Newmen, Sram XX1 rainbow cassete and chain, XX1 carbon shifter, X01 polar grey carbon cage derraileur and carbon crankset and latest XC Mezcal Race tires from Vittoria. The result?...I still salivate everytime I look at it, so beautiful is the bike!!! It ended being breathtakingly beautifull, the damn bike! And how does it ride? I took it to the same grounds I take my 2 enduro bikes, sunday of last week, after a very rainy saturday and I was bewitched!! Can you believe the damn bike was able to "chew" the same trails in wich I ride the big bikes? Apart from the tires that gave me at least 12 heart attacks because in mud and wet rock they cease to exist(and they're 2.4's!!!) the frame and suspension combo is like "magical pudding". To this day I cannot fully understand how Rockshox managed that kind of magic but I can honestly tell you that those 120mm Sid's are unbelievable!!! I didn't even max out the fork! Of course, compared to you I'm a "mere wimp" but still that bike would be unbelivable in any ones hands. Of course, If I had built it the way Wilier wants it, with a much smaller dropper, much less powerfull brakes/rotors and a one piece carbon stem/handlebar with a negative 27 degrees, the bike would loose almost all of it's trail capability. I'm glad I didn't!! Came in at 10,9kgs and it's the cherry on top of my dream build bike garage! And I'm done! 24.000€ and 18 months later I have all the bikes that I set out to have and now I'll only spend money on tires and brake pads! I trully hope this looooong message doesn't bore you to death but when I start speaking about my passion...well, I can't stop! Hope this message finds you well, happy and in one piece! Cheers from Coimbra, Portugal!
@@luismartins9521 my friend!!! I missed you on last weeks video, I’m glad to hear it was because you were having too much fun riding your new bike!! The new build sounds spectacular and I’m so happy it brings you so much joy! By your description I am not surprised at all that it is able to handle the same terrain as your enduro bikes, it sounds like an incredible piece of machinery you’ve put together and I look forward to hearing about your future rides on it as well!! I am still in one piece and well, although I am a bit sad I will not be riding until the weather gets better, it is currently -33°F (or -36°C) outside and I will be spending no more time than absolutely necessary out there until things warm up again! Cheers!
Hey, Chuck...you wanna hear the ramblings of a very, very tired 45 year old doctor who loves mtb?...Even if you don't, here it goes: I would arrive at my work place tomorrow and let my superiors know that I was taking a one month sabatical(to wich they would ask If I lost my mind completely...) I would buy the best mtb bike travelling bag available and pack my yellow stumpy. Then I would fly to the U.S, to meet you! Of course we would become instant friends and then we would do the most obvious thing: Message Nate Hills on his channel and tell him we were coming to meet him down in Mexico(He's down there right now, in a Yetti mtb meating having the time of his life!). Then, rent a truck, drive down south and meet the man. And all the while clocking in as much mtb hours as humanly possible. While in Mexico all three of us would ride like there was no tomorrow, enjoy the warmth and a couple of weeks later we'd part, each to his own corner of the world, with one hell of a story to tell our grandkids(If I ever get to have them...Do hope I do...). Am I not the crasiest s.o.b you ever corresponded with?...And you know what? If I could, I would!! Let's see if tomorrow I wake up with a little more sanity, hey Chuck?!...LOLOL!!
@@mguzikowski bro thank you but idk about all that. Nate Hills is the OG, the GOAT!! That man rides lines with ease that I will not even look at!! It’s all love on the bike but he is on a whole different level above me! 🤘🏼
