I got a beetroot wine fermenting right now. Carrot wine coming up as soon as i can get some beautiful looking carrots ! Cheers
Send me the recipe 😉 thanks 🍷
I am drinking my first glass of carrot wine following your excellent recipe. It is amazing. My old recipe is now in the trash (where it belongs). This version is light and fruity. It smells lovely and tastes even better. No hint of carrot flavour or smell. This is my 'go to' recipe for carrot wine from now on. Thank you so much for sharing this with us. You are a gentleman and a scholar!
Thanks for sharing your spectacular experience 🥳 please share the wine and the video with friends and family 😉
Thanks for the recipe !!! U too Hadrian
Welcome 🤗
I'm almost ready to rack my latest 25 litre batch of carrot wine, although my recipe is a bit more complicated than this, probably unnecessarily so. I'll try this recipe now and do 5 litres. If it's as good as you say, and I'm sure it is, I'll make more. By the way, if you take away 20% of the carrots and replace them with parsnips, it makes a slightly sweeter wine.
Thanks for the information about parsnips 👍🏼 if I can find it 🙂 I will try
Oh. That's at a totally new level and I guess very healthy too. A must try. Thank you and Hadrian for this great recipe.🎉🍷Cheers.
😉👍🏼🍾 keep us updated 🍷
Spectacular !🥂 Thanx Andrea ! 😎👍🏻

My name is also hadrian and I love drinking my alcohol with carrot juice. This looks so good.
👍🏼🙂 nice to meet you
Very interesting, thanks from Brazil 🇧🇷
Olá vizinho! Potresti fare una ricetta "brasiliana"? Sarà un grande onore! Grazie!!
@@TheRpj for sure, we have the classic brazilian recipe called, feijoada. We have to pão de queijo, coxinha. But feijoada its so Classic. With black beans and pork Meat.
Sorry about some mistakes in italian writing, I used Google translator.
Thanks ☺️ greetings from Italy, yes I will make some research but homemade distillation in Italy is illegal 😢 sorry
Great recipe. Planning to make some wine this weekend.
Out of curiosity, how did you make the fermenter using the water bottle? The tap will have a screw which will be difficult to close properly from the inside.

I can’t wait to try this! I’m live in Hawaii and grapes are so expensive so it’s great that raisins are an option. I also need to check out your passion fruit wine recipe… I grow many passion fruits. 👏🏼
Keep us updated 👍🏼 you will like both of them 😉🍷🍾
The raisins are used to replace yeast nutrient powder. Although they do add some flavor, it's main purpose it to feed the yeast. The lemon is used to replace acidic blend powder. And if tannins were required, you would brew a stiff cup of black tea to replace tannin powder. Food grade sanitizer can be replaced by water+vinegar to keep everything clean and healthy. Simply wait for the fermentation process to end rather than using Campden tablets also... All modern chemicals that are normally used in modern wine making can be replaced with natural ingedients. Happy brewing !
Thanks for the information 😉👍🏼
Just in passing, “All Smiles” nice!
@@nzs316 thank you! It’s funny, it was actually used in a major ad campaign for Edison in Italy several years ago and I got to spend 3 weeks in Italy as a result. Most beautiful vacation and cultural experience in my life!
I like to try this my own.. ❤
Bravo 👍🏼 keep us updated

I have a question, can I make figs wine in a simple way? Or some other fermented juice of them? Can't find something easy online and I don't want to waste them
Thanks! 😊
The fig season is starting now 😬 so a need one month before posting the video. Sorry
This is something new to me carrot wine. This is awesome. Really spectacular idea. By the way can you recommend any wine bottle supplier where I can have my carrot wine bottled?

No , you can’t taste the carrot 🥕
Carrot wine is spectacular; parsnip wine too....
Thanks 👍🏼🍾🥕🍷
Again superb wine recipe🎉. Plz note 1082-992=90/7.5=12 but in u r video have numbers mistake

I was about to say the same because 30/7.36=7.4 lol
Yes 😢 but I can’t fix it now 😩 too late

Hii, great recipe!!
What is the shelf life of the final product( when i put the wine inside the bottles ?)

Your fermenters are the perfect size. When I search for them I can only fint those really big 30L fermenters. Have you made yours yourself?
Yes 😉 ua-cam.com/video/6YMqbpjRVUc/v-deo.html
Good for the eyesight
Thanks for the information
Do you clean your fermenter with sulfite??
No , dish soap 🧼 and hot water
is it okay to leave the raisins inside the fermenter while the eine is fermenting? since we made an experiment on making carrot wine
You can try 👍🏼
@@Spectacular-cuoredicioccolato ok, Thank you

I always wash fresh produce with a llight vinegar solution to get rid of pestices and preservatives. If you do that you could perhaps try your raisin yeast again.
Better avoid vinegar when you make wine 🍷
@@Spectacular-cuoredicioccolato Agreed but after the wash you need to rinse them properly to get rid of the vinegar residue especially if you are going to use orange or lemon zest.
Send me the picture on instagram
Yes 👍🏼 you can
I think 🤔 now you can drink it
could i use lime, it's hard to find lemon in Viet Nam ^^
Yes 👍🏼
Interesting
Bravo 😉👍🏼🍷
another way to get a sweeter wine is to pasteurize the wine and then backsweeten to taste. it's more work than i'm interested in but it gives you more control over both the sweetness and the abv
@@galahad1050 yeah, you're just at the mercy of the yeast and any number of factors could effect at what percent the yeast same strain of yeast stops at (especially climate)
Yes 👍🏼 less alcohol and more sugar
I tried making kamias and passion fruit wine all grown in our farm with jaggery (unrefined sugar) and bio-yeast..it's almost 4 weeks now..when is the right time to bottle... should this be refrigerated??
Are you using the airlock?
Do you have glass bottles?
@@Spectacular-cuoredicioccolato yeah iam using the glass bottles and if it is better to airlock, will do.. thanks for your humble reply & best wishes,😍
Ok 👍🏼 room temperature after you bottle it but cold when you drink it 😉
@@Spectacular-cuoredicioccolato thankyou,😊

Can I keep the carrots inside while fermenting it?
No 👎🏼 better to remove them
Better from wine because bread yeast give different taste

The fermentation appears to have stopped after 2 weeks. Should I go ahead and wait 40 days before bottling?
Ok 👍🏼 you can put the wine 🍷 in the bottles
Another great video! I've always wished you'd make a video on melon wine!
I should try when the melon 🍈 season starts 😉
Directly in the fermenter
Muito obrigada
What dose carrot wine go with? Pasta ,meat dishes, fish? 🥕 🍷🤔
Cheese and risotto
Adding lemon juice was not shown in the video. At what stage do we have to add the lemon?
I have shown it 😬 but probably I was going to fast, you can add at the beginning or when you add the sugar

Yes but the taste will be different
@Poli-Gold grazie 🙏🏼
What about raw carrot wine ? I know it is ok to start a carrot bug like ginger bug. There IS yeast inside
that's probably better because that way you introduce natural enzymes that decompose the carrot and you'll end up with greater taste. but i am not sure the yeast can survive long enough in the alcohol.
@@n9ne maybe by using both way
I don’t know 🤔 maybe I will try, when you cook the carrots the sugar increase 😉
I keep the airlock off , for the first few days...as apparently oxygen helps fermenting ..so I just bang some cotton wool into top. Then I bang on airlock .
Ok 👌🏼 thanks 🙂 I should try. Yes 👍🏼 usually at the beginning the oxygen is needed
@@Spectacular-cuoredicioccolato I dont think leaving the lock off is a good idea, and its not going to really supply much Oxygen that way. The best way Ive seen brewers get good oxygen into the mix, is to only partially fill the bottle (less water/juice)... then use a rubber stopper on top.. and shake the heck out of it for a few minutes, until its fully mixed. Then finish adding the rest of the stuff. This violent shaking, forces the air into the mix, and makes tons of visible air bubbles. The fermentation time should be vastly reduced.
The channel on home brewing, that I watch often... is "City Steading Brews".
I think some of their brews have been finished fermenting in less than 3 weeks. Depends on the type of brew.
Yes 👍🏼 also the kind of yeast make the difference e the quantity of sugar
👍👍❤❤
👍🏼🥕😉🍷
Just juice the carrots😮
How ?
Why don't you bottle the wine later for better clarity?
Because if you wait until the fermentation is done the wine is more clear
I just watched on BBC Italian cricket pasta!
I think I will stick to your traditional recipes instead.
😱 good idea 👍🏼😉
@@Spectacular-cuoredicioccolato The video was about an Italian chef in Italy trying to encourage people to eat more bugs. So they would freeze dry crickets grind them up to a powder and then make pasta out of it.
😬😱
so my friend, what about the lemon ? 🤨🍋🍋
I add it directly in the fermenter 😉 probably it was fast in the video and you didn’t notice
You always use plastic bottles for fermentation but others say do not use plastic jars or bottles for wine fermentation why?
I don’t know 🤷 have you asked to them?
@@Spectacular-cuoredicioccolato yes, those who use glass jars or ceramic jars they say that plastic bottles or jars spoils wines.
@ratandas3826 for fermentation is ok but for storing it 👍🏼 it’s always better the glass
How do you not have the bottles explode? What am doing wrong friends?
You need to wait until the fermentation is finished before putting it in the bottles
u have use large carrot pieces......so u will not get full flavour of carrot i think.....
Only because after I have eat them 😉 but if you after throw it 🙂 you can shared them
Cool video but your math ain't mathing. How does 30/7.5=12?
Yes 👍🏼 it was 90/7.5=12
Not carrot wine, just plain sugar wine with carrot flavour. Misleading title.
It's the same for every homemade wine 🙄. You extract the juice from the fruit, or in this case vegetable . And Chuck the pulp. This is making wine 101 .
He also used dry Raisins.
Very true, infact all his wine videos uses fruits just for a hint of flavor, remaining all is sugar......😂👍
In theory only with grapes you can call it wine 😉
Yes 👍🏼
1082 - 992 is equal to 90 not 30
30 / 7.5 is 4 not 12
You should not drink too much of the wines when making the video subtitles :D -🤣
😂👍🏼 good idea
1. Talking not clear
2. Volume not loud enough
Sorry 😞
I really don't like this recipe. I would have grated the carrots and steeped it. Carrot had very little sweetness so this is mostly sugar fermented with raisins. Without the raisins it wont even ferment.
Boil the carrots without salt in little bit of water and after let me know how they taste 😉🥕 you will be surprised
Is it possible to make onion wine?
😱
Hello, what should I do if I don't have lemon? Is lemon optional?
Lemon is for acidity, you can use lime
