I spent an hour with a random team today running the raid. It didn't go well. In the immortal words of Forest Gump: "Radom teams are like a box of chocolate's, you never know what you're going to get".
Must be nice on Playstation fo 76 no one is doing raids i jumped 60 servers made a raid team and no one joined my team i stayed in each server waiting for 10 to 20 minutes
I haven't had the same experience. If i see someone not getting it i just explain the fight and mechanics to them. Like, forget angry turtle for a second and do not try to get fancy and minigun shredder the mole miners. It's not clever if you die.

I know how too do raids i play destiny 2 and have hundreds of raid clears so fo 76 raids are refreshing for me so different in a way but also easy unlike how the devs said it's the hardest end game added so far. Only hard part about this raid is trying too have a team that has a mic and knows what too do. I run it with my friends we all got mics and are high lvl 500 plus
It would be so much better if there was a match making system for the raids I couldn't find many people to run the dam raids . And when I did they were full already
I feel your pain, I did 4 successful runs till the end and I froze at the last boss 3 times, lucky for me my team finished the fight and I restarted my game after the raid finished and rewards page was displayed to the other players, all 3 times I got my rewards even if I was in a frozen screen which is nice. Don't know if it's common or not but if your screen freeze don't abandon your game till the team either dies or completes the stage.
@@AntonisApostolopoulos for me the controls frozen and when it unfroze the snake had already cracked the ground under me and I was already in the green 🥴😆
it’s only crashed for me after dying and spectating the last boss /in that boss fight, the teams i’ve been in have a solid understanding its gonna crash and we just restart it once they’re back
So I did some testing, and you can spam the first boss over and over again. It was an easy fight, and if done right over before the first flames came up, grab loot, leave the drop quest, and do it again. If it was a guarantee of a 3+star and mods you could do this all day. After 10 runes I got 3, 4-star new power armour bits, 2 4-star boxes, and a load of trash. What I did find annoying is the raid gives you normal repair kits, not the better ones which are just useless.
I use the regular repair kits for my armor. The armor lasts for so long that they work perfect for fixing it, and if you get one of the daily quests to repair armor X amount of times, you can easily repair your own armor as it will always be a little under 100%.

I tried the raid event. Just before i and my team of random players were about to finish off the first boss, my game crashed. All that hard work for jack (bleep).
The raid saves your checkpoint. You can go back in and do the final boss so long as you don’t delete the quest. The doors will be closed. Just keep going through each section
Lucky duck. I did get one piece of vulcun armor but that was it. I was in a random pick up group only 2 on mic and we sucked in stage 2 and i had to go before the final boss (dad life) but i got no mods no plans and no unique weapons. Still had a blast though.
I don't know what to think about the raids.... It's fun to have a mode that is challenging but that you need other players to make it trough is painful especially in the parts where there is a special mechanic like the crystals or the shields and the other players don't understand how it works. And sorry but a 5% chance to get 1 out of the almost 40 plans per raid phase is just dumb. I don't wanna play this mode 1000 times just to get all plans that I need for the power armor
I gave the raids a try...with random players. Two person team, another three person and a full team. One team finished all the stages. (three person team). The others failed miserly. It was longer to find a team than the raid itself. The rewards are not the effort. (rare items) are not good rewards. I more likely to skip to like caravans. I mostly solo.
Keep ending up needing to kill myself bc teammates keep dying and i dont want to spend 40k ammo to kill a boss solo, they should at least let us revive our teammates, its stupid that when you suddenly enter a cave you die immediately
I was able to get in with a good party after 5 tries and did one full successful raid. it was a BLAST! sadly when i tried later in the night the others in the party kept getting killed on stage 5 and while I could tank it i didn't have the DPS to win it alone.
Lol I get that...to make it so much easier for yourself and the others on the raid... being on mic (or especially being able to listen to mic chat) is going to super helpful to coordinate... But even than, it'll take a while to get the hang of it...and the only way to get the hang of it is by doing it... Don't feel that you'll be a burden... everyone has to start somewhere... and some take a bit more to learn the sections... it took me dying 5 times before I figured out the first area xD
My game crashed just before finishing off the first boss of the raid. So now I’m afraid of going back and experiencing game crashing again while in Gleaming Depths.
I did end up running it just now and it took a few hours. I did a couple donkey moves but pulled it together well enough to not be the weakest teammate =) The snake kind of glitched at the last half of his health bar and only raised his tail for the rest of the fight, no more acid or scream. It was our 8th snake try when the glitch happened and I welcomed the glitch.
I did it yesterday and on my first run through it took us 2.5 hours roughly with the deaths of course. I got dropped the Guass, Railway Plan, Flamer Plan, Sword, Drill Plan, 8 Vulcan pieces of armor(need the helmet to make the full set to get the bonus), like 4 4 star mod boxes. I ended up happy and somewhat frustrated. Adrenaline rush... 🤯 Don't forget the title you get with each stage of the raid. I'm rocking with General Serpent Slayer!

Was finally able to check out the patch last night for a bit after work. I had no idea what i was doing (none of us did). Spent an hour on the 1st boss before we called it quits
I got 1 4 star box mod and got a bunch of plans from the 5 sections ... We ended up doing 1 raid yesterday...but i had to basically respec my melee toon on the fly to tailor it to the raid xD and it took us like 30284 tries and 90ish minutes xD xD xD But thanks to genkai surfer and ferret we got it done eventually :p
im just happy i got my most wanted 4 star effect ( Conductor) and a few plans for 4 star weapons ive been spamming the raid all day yesterday and with a decent team you can breeze trough it pretty quick
The rewards are insulting. Raw flux, really? Clearly the devs are not playing their own game. I don’t mind the extra difficulty but these raids are just pointless. I only tried the first stage so far and I got one shotted in a full set of overeaters union with all the mitigation perks equipped. My friend and I managed to finish it but the two random teammates were flat dead from the start. For all that trouble I got a one star Vulcan piece and a two star mod box, no plans and no unique weapons. That really didn’t want to make me go back for more. Most people I know just play casually and join up with other random people but for the raids you need a team of four well equipped and willing to communicate people. The fact that you can’t respawn and have to wait for everyone to die to start over again is also a stupid and annoying mechanic. So overall it feels that the raids in their current form are a bad fit for most of the player base. It is too punishing for casual players and people who don’t have enough friends to play with and for experienced players the rewards aren’t really worth the effort.
440 caps, a 1 star mod and some flux. This WHOLE game is a joke against the people playing it. I un-installed, you can all have fun grinding endlessly for nothing.

Been in teams and never made it to the second round. Its really hard if you dont know how to build your avatar (like me). And I really wanna have the plan for that new generator. Hope I can buy or trade it in the future. My build is a pack rat in sort. Its because I sell alot of bulks and meds.
dont know how but my armor was burned trough at least twice on each piece in total during single raid, dont know, apparently armor I have is garbage on durability but I cant check because all this time, we have no NUMBER on durability, only stupid abstract bar that is hard to compare or guess if thing is good or not anyway (would be fine if same level of same gear couldnt come in ton of different max durability values), I would definitely appreciate if raid team bonus applied on damn armor than weapons but I guess at least that
I’ve completed the entire raid 10ish times now, and the first stage over 50 times. I’ve earned a good mix of 4 star mods and armor. I did pull together a group of people I met via random teams until I found 3 people who knew what they were doing and had good DPS, though.
**Groan** so I spent 17500 caps on each serum plan - for nothing😓 What I see it drops A LOT of things I do not need - I get tons of stimpacks already, and they're forcing you to leave a lot of empty space in the stash. I also don't quite like that I have to unmute the game chat, I'm sure I'm going to hear something quite annoying quite soon. I don't know, considering the crashes, the bloodied build, some stutters, everything screams PAIN to me, I feel cut off from part of the game :/
Was waiting to render my opinion on the update/raid until I was able to get my hands on it and try it for myself... And all that I can say, despite waiting and trying to give it a chance, that it commits and incorporates exactly all the terrible design decisions that I was worried it would. It's Poorly balanced. You should be easily able to complete the raid with 2 fully geared ppl. Why? Because uou don't always have time to wait around for a full team. If I have 2 ppl ready to go that should be enough and there shouldn't be an artificial barrier to completion. Why? Because if we can't do it... Then we won't. And we (two long-time fully paying customers) will go find something better to do with our time. And this makes evident that the event is not scaled to the levels of the players and how many their are. (So it's good to know that ppl are trying to get 8 ppl into raids right now. Wouldn't want to patch that right?) Secondly there is too much expectation of the the player. I don't have the time nor give a rats ass if I don't have the right food buffs or chems. I have 2 hours I can play per day. I'm not going to waste it collecting items just to waste them in a raid and not get through it. I'm just simply going to not bother to do either of those things. There is too much expected of me. It's almost like the developers delight in finding ways to put obstacles in-between you and your enjoyment of the game. What that? You want to craft? Well you have to get out of your power armor. And get back into it. EVERY SINGLE FREAKING TIME. Doesn't that make the game more immersive? You have to do the animation at the table, and we didn't program a way to do it in your armor so... Have fun getting in and out of it every 10 seconds to do something. What's that? You want to use your emotes? Well we mapped the contextual ping button to the exact same button... So now you'll hit them accidentally and be adverse to using either! But I digress. The Developers have completely unrealistic expectations of the player. And this is only compounded by ignoring the lessons of previous content releases, and other games. Basically, It doesn't matter how much you try to force players to play together... They don't want to do it... And purpose buliding content that forces them to rely on each other is simply a barrier to enjoyment... Not facilitating it. You can make Operations, Excursions, Raids, etc. Call ot whatever you want. Make whatever restrictions or objectives. Only an extreme minority of players will ever play it. And an even further extreme minority who will ever finish it or benefit from it. And if the game is built to make it clear, and spell out that YOU are NOT one if those ppl... Then what do you expect? Most ppl simply take the hint that this is too complicated and only for the elites, and leave. Which is another element of negative gamer culture that this update reinforces. (Elitebro culture) And to me, it seems to be because the game is developed around the whims of "influencers" who have an unlimited amount of time in the day to devote to getting every little detail right before they go in. Most people just simply do not have the time or energy to devote to that. And all it does is further alienate and divide the haves, from the have-nots. Which I guess wouldn't be so bad, but in order to give you guys a new "tier" of loot... They didn't ADD a new tier. They secretly cut our legs out from underneath us. Now we do LESS damage overall to enemies in the overworld. And if we want to get back to the same level of damage we were doing before... We HAVE to unlock it (again) by doing the raid. Its such a blatant bait and switch that it should be reported for deceptive business practice... But I again digress. Basically this feels like a content update for a game that launched in 2012 and where the developers learned none of the lessons about game design from anything else that has happened since then. Total disappointment, but thrn again I'm not surprised. Every content update to this game recently is over hyped and under delivers... And is almost immediately forgotten or ignored about a week later when all the insane ppl have gotten everything already. Then the rest of us are left to fend for ourselves in an objectively worse game where everything is more difficult. Sigh. I wish that ppl could get their heads around the idea that there are more ways to make your game "cool" than to turn it into a p***ing contest between neck beards for who has ground for more thousands if hours for a minor stat increase. As long as devs choose to chase that model, I just don't see anything changing any time soon. Hate me if you want. Just calling it like I see it. Went into the raid for the first time today and I have ZERO desire to go back in there. Waste of time and resources. You made an update for ~
This. This is on target. Even if the loyalists don't want to admit it. They don't want a game with content, they want an online store. It shows in every design choice they make. They shoot themselves in the foot so much with this game it's actually stunning. Every time they earn a bigger audience, they rush to push them away as fast as possible. But with the people running that circus, can you be surprised?

Yesterday did random rad with teams, got 3 a 4 star mods, got a plan, got L And R arm 2 star, so to day as am a bloody build, i did a vats build, tested out killed good to go, so did 4 raids as leader, failed 3 time only because i was left, had one melee nutter..this was the first one with the Robbot, the second one with the Drill the team were clueless, i tried had to abandon, am going to setup only for the first one.. need to find a good team.

You' might need 500 or more weapons too scrap just to learn a one 4 star plan . You know how long it take the amount of resources and ammo you need isnt worth it. The game is junked. You gonna burn your PC for that.

I've had similar experiences. I think as more people learn the raid, the experiences will be more consistent.
I tried the raid with my bro and randoms. It's worth it if you got a good team.
I haven't run it yet. I am kind of worried about being a tool and dragging the team down. I have Raid Dysfunction right now. =)

Nice score. You've gotten more weapon plans that I've gotten through about a dozen raids.
Tried doing the final stage ten times now but crashes every time when it's down to low health,just given u till this issue is fixed.

Honestly, I can't believe how cooperative folks have been during a raid! Haven't experienced this level of fun in FO76 in 3 years!

I got the gauss rifle with conductor on it was not lucky enough to learn the mod the only weapon mod I want lol
Ive gotten to rank 70 already just grinding raids, its insane.
(Ive probably completed maybe 30-40 raids, just finally got my first vulcan helmet to finish the set. Only have plans for vulcan legs so far though.)
No gurantee you get a weapon every time it hasn’t worked for many of us
I have over 40 clears of the first encounter with 2 of my buddies and none of us have seen the weapon yet.
We couldn’t even get past the robot 🤖 first stage! 😂

Don't forget if you get kicked or crash you must run all the way through the raid to get to the last point you died at

dont know how but my armor was burned trough at least twice on each piece in total during single raid, dont know, apparently armor I have is garbage on durability but I cant check because all this time, we have no NUMBER on durability, only stupid abstract bar that is hard to compare or guess if thing is good or not anyway (would be fine if same level of same gear couldnt come in ton of different max durability values), I would definitely appreciate if raid team bonus applied on damn armor than weapons but I guess at least that

I’ve completed the entire raid 10ish times now, and the first stage over 50 times. I’ve earned a good mix of 4 star mods and armor. I did pull together a group of people I met via random teams until I found 3 people who knew what they were doing and had good DPS, though.
Try to switch ur damage number display off on the final raid worked for me the last 2 times but its probally luck.

Yes for the misc stuff. Unique weapons are tied to specific stages.

What I see it drops A LOT of things I do not need - I get tons of stimpacks already, and they're forcing you to leave a lot of empty space in the stash. I also don't quite like that I have to unmute the game chat, I'm sure I'm going to hear something quite annoying quite soon.
I don't know, considering the crashes, the bloodied build, some stutters, everything screams PAIN to me, I feel cut off from part of the game :/

It's the price to be paid for achieving godlike power. The flesh is glass.
Just run full health then, I run bloodied but geared up and specced out just for the raid

Was waiting to render my opinion on the update/raid until I was able to get my hands on it and try it for myself... And all that I can say, despite waiting and trying to give it a chance, that it commits and incorporates exactly all the terrible design decisions that I was worried it would.

Poorly balanced. You should be easily able to complete the raid with 2 fully geared ppl.
Why? Because uou don't always have time to wait around for a full team.
If I have 2 ppl ready to go that should be enough and there shouldn't be an artificial barrier to completion.
Why? Because if we can't do it... Then we won't.
And we (two long-time fully paying customers) will go find something better to do with our time.
And this makes evident that the event is not scaled to the levels of the players and how many their are.
(So it's good to know that ppl are trying to get 8 ppl into raids right now. Wouldn't want to patch that right?)
Secondly there is too much expectation of the the player.
I don't have the time nor give a rats ass if I don't have the right food buffs or chems.
I have 2 hours I can play per day. I'm not going to waste it collecting items just to waste them in a raid and not get through it.
I'm just simply going to not bother to do either of those things.
There is too much expected of me.
It's almost like the developers delight in finding ways to put obstacles in-between you and your enjoyment of the game.
What that? You want to craft?
Well you have to get out of your power armor. And get back into it. EVERY SINGLE FREAKING TIME.
Doesn't that make the game more immersive?
You have to do the animation at the table, and we didn't program a way to do it in your armor so... Have fun getting in and out of it every 10 seconds to do something.
What's that? You want to use your emotes? Well we mapped the contextual ping button to the exact same button... So now you'll hit them accidentally and be adverse to using either!
But I digress.
The Developers have completely unrealistic expectations of the player.
And this is only compounded by ignoring the lessons of previous content releases, and other games.
Basically, It doesn't matter how much you try to force players to play together... They don't want to do it...
And purpose buliding content that forces them to rely on each other is simply a barrier to enjoyment... Not facilitating it.
You can make Operations, Excursions, Raids, etc.
Call ot whatever you want.
Make whatever restrictions or objectives.
Only an extreme minority of players will ever play it.
And an even further extreme minority who will ever finish it or benefit from it.
And if the game is built to make it clear, and spell out that YOU are NOT one if those ppl... Then what do you expect? Most ppl simply take the hint that this is too complicated and only for the elites, and leave.
Which is another element of negative gamer culture that this update reinforces.

And to me, it seems to be because the game is developed around the whims of "influencers" who have an unlimited amount of time in the day to devote to getting every little detail right before they go in.
Most people just simply do not have the time or energy to devote to that.
And all it does is further alienate and divide the haves, from the have-nots.
Which I guess wouldn't be so bad, but in order to give you guys a new "tier" of loot... They didn't ADD a new tier. They secretly cut our legs out from underneath us.
Now we do LESS damage overall to enemies in the overworld.
And if we want to get back to the same level of damage we were doing before... We HAVE to unlock it (again) by doing the raid.
Its such a blatant bait and switch that it should be reported for deceptive business practice... But I again digress.
Basically this feels like a content update for a game that launched in 2012 and where the developers learned none of the lessons about game design from anything else that has happened since then.
Total disappointment, but thrn again I'm not surprised.
Every content update to this game recently is over hyped and under delivers... And is almost immediately forgotten or ignored about a week later when all the insane ppl have gotten everything already.
Then the rest of us are left to fend for ourselves in an objectively worse game where everything is more difficult.
Sigh.
I wish that ppl could get their heads around the idea that there are more ways to make your game "cool" than to turn it into a p***ing contest between neck beards for who has ground for more thousands if hours for a minor stat increase.
As long as devs choose to chase that model, I just don't see anything changing any time soon.

This. This is on target. Even if the loyalists don't want to admit it. They don't want a game with content, they want an online store. It shows in every design choice they make. They shoot themselves in the foot so much with this game it's actually stunning. Every time they earn a bigger audience, they rush to push them away as fast as possible. But with the people running that circus, can you be surprised?
@sultryjmac they need to get their priorities straight. I was really hoping we'd see an "Elder Scrolls/76" style game.
But they're going to really figure out what they want that to be first.

Hang in there. It seems to be very streaky. I've done 3 raids in a row before without getting a plan. I've also gotten 2-3 from a single raid.

It's dumb the game allows a solo option when even as a group everyone is killed off in the raid.

Yesterday did random rad with teams, got 3 a 4 star mods, got a plan, got L And R arm 2 star, so to day as am a bloody build, i did a vats build, tested out killed good to go, so did 4 raids as leader, failed 3 time only because i was left, had one melee nutter..this was the first one with the Robbot, the second one with the Drill the team were clueless, i tried had to abandon, am going to setup only for the first one.. need to find a good team.

You' might need 500 or more weapons too scrap just to learn a one 4 star plan . You know how long it take the amount of resources and ammo you need isnt worth it. The game is junked. You gonna burn your PC for that.

Caravans don't have rewards worth the investment. The raid will be fine. Grab a buddy, begin war prep.
