As someone living in Peterborough and having this randomly recommended to me, it was nice to see the reaction from people not local. I also enjoyed "travelling" the roads with you!
I drive 44 ton articulated trucks in the UK and I must say, you really seem to have mastered driving on our roads and are very accomplished. Roundabouts dont seem to cause you any issues, so well done !!
Great day out guys It was fast watching but still very enjoyable! Cant wait to see the seats re-crafted as I just know they will lokk brilliant! Take care!
The cathedral is well worth a visit. When you visit combine it with Burghley House in Stamford - amazing sculpture gardens and some intense art in the house itself. Deeping Antiques in market Deeping is a treasure trove for cool projects.

Parking in Peterborough city centre is tricky. There's a car park behind the town hall which you should be able to find on a map and that would be your best bet for the cathedral and the rest of the city centre. It's a shame you were defeated this time, but I hope you can come back and see things properly. The middle of the city is pedestrianised, so you missed it and the cathedral is quite impressive, as well as other things generally. The Ostrich is a good pub, though you's have to check a map or ask for directions as it's well hidden and there's also Charters which is on a boat, though it's expensive. There's a museum too, which may be worth a look. - a Peterborian, surprised and pleased about this video! (And which cinema were the seats from?)
We have planned a trip back to Peterborough very soon. To check out as much as we can to appreciate the city. It's truly beautiful and has so much to offer. We're unsure as to what Cine ma the seats came, unfortunately. I'm just happy to have another piece of history from England. I love it here and enjoy exploring and sharing our experiences with you all. Thank you for your time watching. 🤍 Jess
@@DaydreamersBarn I should rewatch the video to try tojog my memory. There were two cinemas in town, the ABC and Odean, one had red seats. I'm trying to remember which one! If I do I'll be able to tell you and what I can remember about the place, though both closed during my childhood,so it's tricky.
I enjoyed joining you on your trip to Peterborough. I'm glad your getting to like roundabouts. Way back in the 90's when I had just started driving, a roundabout replaced traffic lights at a busy intersection about a mile from where I lived and much improved the flow of traffic in what had been a notorious spot for traffic jams.
Geoff, thank you for taking the ride with us! I have really started to love so much about England. Can't wait to see how much my love grows! Thanks for the comment and supporting our channel. 🤍 Jess
I grew up in Peterborough in the 1950s and 60s and part of your journey was on roads that I used to cycle to school on every day for 7 years. That's why I know that you took an unnecessary detour through those narrow streets with the speed bumps. You passed my school on the right at 2.54, Kings School which is the school that supplies choristers to the cathedral. Unfortunately you don't show a very good view of the school which was founded in 1541. Thanks for taking me on a trip down memory lane.

Many motorists often seem to struggle with Bus Lanes - at least they do where I live - Sheffield. At the commencement of a Bus Lane there is normally a road sign indicating a Bus Lane, sometimes reinforced by the words "at all times", and clearly they should never be driven in. But there are also Bus Lanes with time limits indicated on them - usually covering the morning and late afternoon rush hours. Any time of day that is outside of those defined times, you are free to drive in it like any normal lane. There seems to be many drivers who don't realise this and continue to drive alongside it and then pull across the road in front of you when the lane comes to an end.
Chris, it was quite a shock getting a ticket. It was dark and a very new road, so we learned very quickly to be on the lookout for bus lanes. Thank you for watching and leaving a great comment! 🤍 Jess
@Jess, I managed to get a ticket myself in Manchester City Centre by not paying attention whilst looking for a particular place, and I've been driving for nearly 40 years. Drivers here are generally courteous but there is always one or two.
the reason for the large amount of speed bumps in Peterborough (the original 1 ), is it used to suffer from a lot of high speed drivers in the side streets, this was 25 years or so a go, so they bought several joblots of speedbumps, looking @ the start of your journey you live in the wisbech/guyhurn area, i used to live in chatteris myself and in fact was in that area last week picking up a bmw trike for a friend of mine, i now live in Cumbria on the north west coast :) :)
