Great video. I have a 2010 IS F that I superchargered. I'm glad I'm not the only one who ran into issues with the install. I had my s pipe reworked by a fabricator and also had him make me a custom bumper to fit the intercooler and piping instead of hacking up the stock one. Definitely high on difficulty of install due to the tight engine bay, especially when things don't fit right.
Nope, never ran good enough to go lol. The day I was going to the track I was half way there and the car stumbled to a stop and died. Barely made it home. Took me weeks to figure out what the issue was. Turned out to be too rich on light throttle application and cruising in vacuum. It tanked the KCLV down to single digits.
Damn. I see why you're done with the car. I'm running the 7 psi pulley on 93. Best e.t. was an 11.4 short shifting cause of the neutral tune. Would only get 6 pounds of boost but better than nuetralling between shifts.
Sad to see the project is over. Can I ask what finally turned you away from the IS-F project with the supercharger? I still have my 08 IS-F and love it and have always wondered about maybe getting the SC kit down the road, but after watching this video and hearing about some other peoples experiences I'm keeping it N/A. I mean 11 seconds N/A is plenty fast already with FBO.
I think there are more solid tuning options out there. The RR parts and kit is fine, there's no major problem with it. The real issue with the RR kit is customer service, follow ups, kit revisions, extra parts that should have been sold with the kit, tune, and tuning process. For example, I was running stock spark plugs the entire time and the kit never included or mentioned anything about running a colder range plug. The original belt slipped under boost, but there was no mention or solution of how to resolve. I received some parts that were defective, incorrect, or put together wrong. The ATI damper was incorrectly thread locked so the bolts vibrated loose on the timing cover side and wore a groove through my timing cover. Then the front side bolts were red thread locked so they snapped and I was unable to remove the pulley with a puller, ended up having to do a whole timing chain job because of the damage to the cover. Sometimes it would take days or weeks (or months) for answers, support, or tune revisions. OEM-like drivability is not happening and the transmission wide open shifts don't get tweaked either so it feels like the converter isn't locked up or it's slipping. The car was always either too lean or too rich and would hesitate on light throttle cruise. KCLV would tank during cruise because it was loading up with too much fuel and the car would be undriveable. Idle was so rich the car would either die or you would have to floor it to keep it running on a cold start. Their advice was just to start driving it right away so it would warm up.
@@LILEVO Geeze that is one heck of a list! I really appreciate the honesty! I had been really hesitant since I boosted a N/A car in the past and swore I would never do it again. That was with a 94 Integra GS-R with the Jackson Racing SC kit. Car ran great until it didn't run at all. I then moved onto cars that were designed for boost out of the gate to include my past 03 EVO VIII, which was turning into a money pit so went and jumped into Lexus back in 2006 with N/A engines as they could only be modded so far and had great performance out of the box. Loved my IS350 and still love my F. Can't believe I've had the F now for 16 freaking years! Car still looks new and is making great N/A power without any of the issues you mentioned in your comment above. I absolutely don't blame you for parting out and selling. Looking forward to your next adventure!

Also did NOT realize the crashbar needs hacked to fit the supercharger kit! That alone is a show stopper for me. Informative video man!
Luckily used ones are on Ebay for around $100 so I can replace it.
Did you ever quater mile the car while supercharger?
