Commenting on PRONG's version of "Working Man," main man Tommy Victor had this to say:
“RUSH had the big riffs and that’s something PRONG always wants as well. Especially in the song 'Working Man' with that all-time classic opening riff. PRONG being a power trio also connects us to this great Canadian band, and ironically we’re going out on tour with another great Canadian band, Vöivod!”
PRONG is currently out on a co-headline tour with VÖIVOD that began February 28th in Columbus, OH, and wraps up March 24th in Stroudsburg, PA.

I was 15 when the Rush version came out in 1974. Deer Creek also did its version of Working Man in their song called The Working Man is a Dead Pig from their 2022 album Menticide.

Many people do not know that Neil pert was not the original drummer for Rush, it was John rusty who played on their first Album was released in March of 1974 in Canada, but in the U.S if I'm not mistaken.It was released in july of that year period

There aren't too many people who bought Force Fed on cassette(had the original with Pus Head artwork and later also the one with strange Green Arrow graphic) , but I remember the critique from an old D.C. punk when I put it on for him, he called it 'impeccable'. Kind of a strange word to describe an album to a 17 year old, but it stuck. A year or so later they toured with Flotsam and Jetsam on the Beg To Differ tour and I saw them in Florida. Blew the headliners away really, it was so technically superior and helped immortalize that infectious album as it still makes it rounds on my play list....although these days so does Oasis and Goldfrapp. It was the beginning of the end though, as Napalm Death's 'Suffer The Children' really turned me off to the future of thrash...Then came Primus 'Suck on this!' and I've been playing bass ever since...
I bought that cassette with the Pushead artwork. And saw them live on that tour, opening for Trouble. Soundgarden was there too, but Trouble was the headliner, much to my surprise. Weird mix of headbangers and Soundgarden fans, who seemed to just jump up and down the entire set. And on a related note, I saw Primus open for Rush on the Seas of Cheese/Roll the Bones tour.

@@johnnybutt6988 Ahh the good ol' days, back when Gwar (who are shit really) was on a mission to destroy hair metal bands because of their fluoro-carbon emitting hair sprays. Back when you used to see two hot chicks at the bar and when they turn around it's Ricky and Gunner the Nelson twins...Btw, I bought a Nelson T-shirt and wore it to school, the other stoner kids were like ''why are you wearing that?'' to which I'd reply 'Because I hate them so much I wanted to bring up my hatred for them as much as possible, so I wore this so we could talk about that!''...got a few laughs, although some in Whitesnake T-shirts didn't really understand...but that's not too shocking I guess.....
@@justinmanser7525 I saw Gwar for the first time on the Scumdogs tour, and learned not to wear your favorite white Metallica shirt to their show. It was hard not to appreciate the goofy theatrics and I actually like some of their music. I probably wouldn't go see them for free now without Dave RIP. The good old days for me were Motley Crue fans telling me Metallica was devil music and Slayer sucked and would never last like their favorite shitty hair bands would. I once cut the head of CC DeVille out of a guitar magazine and taped it over some model on a Harley poster and it was hard to tell the difference. Pre AI & photoshop days but friends never noticed unless I pointed it out to them lol. No Nelson shirt but I did pick up a New Kids On The Chopping Block shirt I thought was pretty cool, with a cartoon an executioner decapitating all of them.
@@johnnybutt6988 The was the head shot Bon Jovi shirt too.....John Bon Blow Me and Whitefake were common terms...Metallica died after Justice for me, the first time I saw Enter Sandman I thought it was terrible, still do...Although I did see a version of it in the style of the Doors which was pretty cool...just hate the riff, and Metallica used to be more chordal instead of lick based...plus the politics .... Dave Mustaine wiped the floor with them as far as intelligent writing, provocative lyrics etc in my opinion....not that Metallica were bed at it, just Megadeth was on another level...Still are!
