I am surprised you did not wear your chainsaw safety chaps on this venture. Twisted trees throw them at you at odd angles. At least your equipment performed perfectly as expected. That is the product of your attention to detail on taking care of your equipment. I find it is a pleasure to work with equipment that works like it is intended to. Bless you for being able to take care of your Mom and Dad's place. Enjoy your down down time, don't get burned out. It is wonderful to know that you are getting your folks place back in order.

Honestly it was 95 degrees yesterday and we've already had some close calls with heat stroke. The chaps make it unbearable.

All I can think is that God's hand was protecting you and your family, you're all well, safe, with minimal damage to your homes and buildings and you managed to get the grapple and trailer just in time as if to help you deal with all this. What a blessing to be able to help your parents!!! I hope the community there gets together and support less lucky ones. Thank you for finding time to film and show us. I hope Tiff stays safe on her way to work:))

@@TKCL After Hurricane Michael, we had hundreds of thousands of trees that were damaged. They set up several stations around the county where they would drop off the vegetation and trees and they were fed into large grinders and turned into mulch. Michael created a record breaking amount of debris. Enough to fill the Empire State Building from the basement to the top floor 7 times over according to one FEMA estimate. We have a local wood worker who was able to salvage many cedar and oak trees damaged in the storm and had them milled them into lumber. He builds items with the lumber and sell them at a local farmer’s market.

I feel almost guilty because 1) we had very little damage and 2) we have a big military generator that runs the whole house. Suwannee County took a beating, but Hamilton County was even worse. I've used my chainsaw and 100HP tractor/grapple clearing neighbors yards and driveways ever since the storm. I am amazed, even in all the destruction we see the grace of God. Very few houses were destroyed...trees all around, but the houses were spared. Be careful Andrew.

This brings me back to january of last year in central Virginia. We had to do so much cleanup like this. The only difference was that we lost those trees to an ice storm instead of a hurricane. So, imagine the same cleanup, but 16 inches of snow on the ground and everything had 1/2 - 1 inch of ice on it. We would cut our way into our gravel subsivision and then cut our way back out because trees were falling behind us. Still, im just glad everyone is ok.

.You might want to check out one of those Wallenstein or Farmi winches to go on the back of your tractor with the amount of cleanup you have to do between both properties..to deal with all that stressed wood and out of reach material... could keep you out of harms way by pulling it to you in a much safer manner.... and keep your tractor from getting beat to Smithereens trying to get all that mess cleaned up..there are lots of UA-cam videos on both manufacturers.. Tractor owners seem to love them..also. skid steer based forestry mulchers also grind material where it sits..can be rented... Take care

Nice equipment, but too much for a one time cleanup job. I did just order a lot of ropes, snatch blocks and chokers to make the best of it. I've always dreamed of having one of those rear winches.

One of the toughest things about hurricanes is they are such a zero-sum game: if you have been spared, you know that others a county or two over got it worse because of a little wobble one way or the other.
