I can't wait to see the stem plants all grown in. 🥰
Yea, I tried growing some grass like plants but the seeds floated in the Bottle Aquarium I made however I think I will start another project and let the grass grow into the compost before filling up with water.
Very nice 😉.
The fish are thinking, man this is one sweet place to live. I'm never leaving. Beautiful job Jay.
Haha Thank man! 🙂🙂
Beautiful as always
Can you please go over the details of the co2 set up
I love the hard scape!!! Can't wait too see an update. 🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿
Thank you! I cant wait to show this tank all grown in! ✌🙂
Man, the arrangement of the hardscape was top-notch, plus the colors from the twinstar and music. Awesome awesome.
Thank you so much man! ✌🙂🙏
Very cool.
Thanks Larry! ✌🙂🙏🙏
Very nice indeed I look forward to how it progresses.
Thanks brother!
Beautiful scape, it is amazing what some nice pieces of wood can do.
It's all about the hardscape! haha Thank you so much man! ✌🙂🙏🙏
The nice thing is at my house my water isn’t chlorinated cause I have a well system, but I still dechlorinate it
Gosh this is so relaxing for me but I so wanna do something like this but no space & the correct items
Yeah I've been there many times. Thank you so much for the kind words! ✌🙂
Learning so forgive this question, but shouldn't you need cycling of the tank before adding the fish?
How can you put the fish right in
Because I always do. Making a video about this soon. I've answered this question in multiple other comment already. ✌🙂
I like the videos and the details in the description. Keep up the great work!
Thank you so much man! Can't wait to see this one all grown in!
@@ThePlantedTankTV Are you from South Central PA by any chance?
@@jayrowe6473 Nope! I'm in sad little Ohio. haha
@@ThePlantedTankTV Ohio's good man. I had relatives in Solon. I'm curious to see you do a setup with native fish. That's what I'm really into.
@@jayrowe6473 I would love to do a scape with pygmy sunfish. but they are impossible to find haha
Well done. Driftwood looks great. - jdp_aqua
Thanks bro! ✌🙂🙏🙏🙏
One of your best creations bro!
Thank you so much! ✌🙂
awesome aquascape! curious question... how you deal with the Nitrogen Cycle?
I don't lol
@@ThePlantedTankTV xD
Been watching you for awhile. Love what you do! Keep on sharin ❤️
✌😭🙏🙏
Amazing setup beautiful 👍
Thank you so much! ✌🙂
Flexin’ that TwinStar...
🤷♂️😂
great attention to detail today Jay! I am loving the dark wood, lava rock and substrate together along with just being able to sit back and flow along with you and the music...great choice in plants and fish!
Thanks man! I can't wait to see the stems fill up the background! I think its going to looks awesome. Both stem plants I haven't tried before but they should be just as easy as all the other stem plants. Hopefully haha Thanks again brother! ✌🙂
i love these types of videos (: and ur channel
Thank you so much! 🙂🙂🙂
Tank looks good. Hopefully you are using a seeded filter for the tank, if not I feel for those fish being added to an uncycled tank ☹.
Filter has been cycled for a long time. You need to first understand how planted aquariums work. Plants preferred source of nitrogen is firstly ammonia then nitrites and finally nitrates. So when the fish produce ammonia it is quickly consumed by the plants. Most people dont know this for some reason. I've never! Cycled any of my tanks. Ever. I always add fish the same day wether or not my filter is cycled. And I've never once lost a fish or had fish suffer from living in too much ammonia. Making a video about this soon.
Awesome!! I like the clean look of this scape.
I can't wait for the stem plants in the back to fill in!
Never thought to use a strainer; I like that. I have often just used the back of my hand. In my big tanks, not so much. For them I place a flat rock in the corner where I add water. That helps, but I think a strainer will do the trick. I am enjoying your videos. Nice work!
I've been thinking of buying this tank (I have a WaterBox 6 g that I really like), so this is a timely video. Thanks for sharing!
It's an epic tank. It's the exact same dimensions as an ADA 60p so there are a ton of equipment for it and lighting and all that jazz! ✌🙂 Thank you so much!
Hi. Do you use filter? I don't see one in the tank
Hello there hope you and tanks are doing well. I wanted your suggestion on how to do a simple remodel on my 15 gallon tank. I am not the best tank mom but I am trying. I have emptied, clean and will be planting grass and plants. Your thoughts
Beautiful aquarium. I saw that u added 4 of each fish. How many more and which ones do u plan to add next
This tank will be nothing but cardinal tetras soon. Just waiting on my fish store to open back up.
The Planted Tank that would look beautiful. How many do u plan to keep in this tank...
i been seaserching everywhere for that style led light but i cant find it. what is it plz?
You must not be checking my descriptions. It's there. ✌😂
What fish have you used in these rimless tanks that haven't jumped and aren't schooling fish?
Well unfortunately I have have almost all fish I've tried jump. But some most certainly more than others. I've had really good luck with neon and cardinal tetras black phantom tetras glowlight tetras black neon tetras Bolivian rams never jump. They wont even come close to the surface. The fish that have jumped for me the most are snake skin endler guppys and emerald eye rasboras. Pencil fish are also surprisingly not very jumpy either. ✌🙂
@@ThePlantedTankTV Cool! Did the Black Phantoms venture towards the top more after adding them in that one Waterbox clear 16 video?
@@duncandonuts5268 they are definitely mid to top swimmers but they dont seem to be spooked very easily. They are really friendly and dont seem to swim off when I approach the tank. I lost one dude to jumping when feeding but I always recommend thoroughly watching the tank during feeding time because they jump on accident sometimes. 🙂
@@ThePlantedTankTV Okay. So they were just hanging low in the video because they were new to the tank. Awesome! Thanks!
How much plants did you use
I have a question... how do i stop BBA and Staghorn? My SAE wont even touch them.
You have to spot dose and add more plants! Spot dose with hydrogen peroxide or seachem excel! ✌🙂
Thank you for the video. It is a good Inspiration for me. But, is it not too early for adding fishes?
I always add my fish same day and have never had any issues. All of my filters and filter media are fully cycled. This tank was taken down the same day it was set up so all my filter bacteria is still good to go. But even if it wasn't I've still always added my fish same day as setup but only because ammonia is the preferred source of nitrogen for plants. And on top of that you should be doing 2 big water changes a week for the first month or so to avoid algae so ammonia doesnt even have a chance to get to harmful levels any ways. Hope that makes sense. ✌🙂
Thanks for the explanations. Sounds good for me. Greetings from Thailand. 😷🤟
@@reinaldgreiner250 ✌🙂🙏🙏
Do you treat your wood in any way before placing them in an aquarium? Like do you boil it or anything to get rid of some tannins or something like that?
Nope. Most of the wood I use is far to big to be boiled in a pot. Haha
Wow super! What is the exact name of this specific wood? And where to get it? Thank you
Description! ✌🙂
@@ThePlantedTankTV yes it is in the video, but not 'below'.
But anyway it is difficult to get this black forest wood in Europe.
At least i can't find a seller...
@@rara5212 Hmm you got me. I thought I put it in there. lol sorry about that! It was labled to me as black forest wood other than that I have no idea what it's genus name is. 😭
Where do you buy the branches? Do you soak them for days?
I usually just tie them to some rock but I decided to try hot glue and it somewhat failed me this time since I've had one piece float since I set it up. 😭😭
😍👏👏👏👏
🙂🙏🙏
I saw that you added fish right away after adding water. Can you add fish right away without cycling the water?
My filter is fully cycled I've been using it for a long time now! ✌🙂
So you can instant cycle if you use old cycled filter? Thank you for amswering
@@jameslukeenriquez That's the original reason a filter was invented from my understanding. So yes!
uugghh still waiting on that hydro setup man!! but jokes aside you should post your setups to r/aquariums or r/plantedtank, if you already don't on reddit, a lot of people would appreciate your work :)
Haha I really never mess with reddit haha I used to smoke a while ago but I have a little one that is more important haha
@@ThePlantedTankTV Hehe messing with you mate. I've had some really good feed back on those subs, especially with my 155Lt hard scape tank. Drained my daughters nano Fluval Betta tank today and wanna start fresh with plants to pretty her room up a bit, thanks for the inspiration :)

Hey Jay, new subscriber here! Planning to start my 1st ever planted tank soon( total beginner here). Is it ok to add livestock right away?! I have watched a lot of aquascaping vids saying you’ll have to wait for atleast 3-4 weeks before adding livestocks for the tank to cycle.
For a planted tank its different. Ammonia is the preferred source of nitrogen for plants. On top of that when first setting up planted tank using aquasoil it's going to leach a ton of nutrients into the water column so you need to be doing two big water changes a week for the first month or so anyways. So ammonia never really gets a chance to get to harmful levels. I've always added all my fish same day. Oh and not to mention my filter has been fully cycled for a while now. I'll be making a video about this subject soon.
Ok..thanks man! Looking forward to the update!💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼
Search up how to properly cycle a tank. Also r/aquariums on redd it is really good at answering any questions you have.
@@jermainemathis9865 You don't need to in a planted tank. Please do not spread misinformation. Cycling is for other sides of this hobby. No need for that in planted aquariums.
Which Glue Gun were you using? Do you have a link on Amazon or where ever you bought it? Thanks for the Vid.
It's just a basic cheapo glue gun. any glue gun with any normal cheap glue will do! As long as the glue is dry before you fill with water it is aquarium safe! ✌🙂🙏🙏
