I heard that when Taylor asked Jennifer to sing this song, Jennifer said she would only do it if Taylor sang back up. So they made it happen.

Taylor wrote this song while she was working on the Red album which was from the end of 2010-2012. sugarland released it in 2018 which was during the repuation era for taylor. then when taylor released the re-record of Red in november of 2021 she recorded this song herself

Sugarland is one of the most successful country duos, and Jennifer Nettles has such an amazing voice! She played Jenna in Waitress and Roxy in Chicago on Broadway. You should definitely check out more of their music. ‘Stay’ is their biggest hit, and Jennifer became the first woman to write and sing the song of the year at the Academy of Country Music awards with it.
You can tell it is Red Era because the repitition of last time is reminiscent of the duet she did with Gary Lightbody from Snow Patrol (my favorite over Everything Changes with Ed Sheeran) called “The Last Time”. It’s amazing!!
The lead guy is Brandon Routh you might know him as Superman. 2006 Superman Returns and also played Ray Palmer in the Arrowverse on the cw. He reprised his role as Superman in DC's Legends of Tomorrow in 2020. Side note if you haven't watched Legends of Tomorrow, you should totally 😉 its so good!! You can start at season 3 if you want 😄 😊

Taylor had originally wrote 'babe' for the RED album, but ultimately decided not to put it on it cause she felt it didn't fit with the album, same with 'better man' that's why she gave them to other singers. She now recorded them and added them on RED (Taylor's version), as vault tracks. and I think at (3:47) you said the e-e-e part reminded you of another song, I think it might have been Red the title song, the parts where she sings "But loving him was red, E-E-E-ED, in the song. Maybe idk it could have been another one?

The husband is Brandon Routh, the professional actor who played Superman in one movie in the 2000's (plus 'Ray' and an alternate Superman in the "Arrowverse" shows on the CW). I know he's done more than that, but that's what came directly to my mind! :)

I wish Taylor released this video on her channel! Having only 37 million views on such a great song Collab and mv is so sad. Atleast 300 million will do it justice.
If she only released it on her channel it would have been weird, since she doesn't sing the main part. If they released it on both channels, most swifties would have watched it on her account, not sugarlands. It was probably the best choice to just release it on sugarlands channel, most people only watch the music video once or twice anyway, and then just stream it on spotify/apple etc.

Sugarland is one of my favourite bands, my favourite song is Stuck Like Glue, the music video is hilarious, it's a duo. It's interesting to compare this version to what Taylor did when she had this as a vault track on Red (she had a bit of "what of your promises, promises" I believe.
I didn't even realize Kristian had any vocals in this until you mentioned "Who's the dude?!" 😅 but it totally makes sense and they show him on the TV at the same time. He's the male half of Sugarland. He sings pretty well too but Jen often takes center stage. I'd recommend Bird In A Cage if you wanna hear more of Sugarland/more or his vocals. It's also the song that immediately follows Babe on their "Bigger" album. Im also seeing lots of people asking you to check out "Stay" and yes thats a must listen for sure, its a gut punch and a half too

I remember when both Taylor and Sugarland first became popular. 😅 I haven't listened to either of them, or country music in general, for years, but I did enjoy Taylor's earliest stuff, and I always thought both Jennifer and Kristian (he's the male voice you heard) had great voices. Babe supposed to be on RED, but Taylor didn’t released it then. So, she gave it to Sugarland and featuring on it. They released it around REP era. Now she re-recording RED (Taylor’s Version), you’ll see it as Babe (TV) which is no featuring in this version.

Sugarland is one of my favorite country bands and Jennifer Nettles is amazing. You should absolutely react to some of their music. Others have said Stay, but my favorite is Just Might (Make Me Believe), and I’ll add Something More, and Want To as popular songs.
