Tanks Full! Attempting to Jet Out a Blocked Drain Field

- Well this wasn't good! Toilet in the house wasn't flushing well, started in investigating, found the tank was full! Attempting to run any water into the drain field just result in it running back into the tank. So hopefully we just have a blocked line to the drain field.

Idle jet sounds plugged on the pressure washer. That is what causes them to surge when not under a load.

You had mentioned its not good to have the water drain back into the tank and not the drain field? The pipes are not at much of a grade. Using that style of "backwards" fitting on that style of pressure washer hose cause the water to be forced back into the tank no matter what?

Jetting from the wrong direction. Even if you had to cut the drain line further down to access.

We jet them all the time, it buys some time but will eventually be an issue again some day.

Looks like you need a rotor rooter. Its possibly you may have either tree roots or other plant roots growing inside the pipe that's causing your clog that need to be ground away.
Thought about roots as well, closest tree is a spruce about 50 feet away to the closest corner, seems like a bit of a stretch. I think it was just some sorta sludge that had built up in the pipes, not sure how or what caused that to happen. But took us over a hour to break through and another hour of working through the drain field as far as we could.

Do you have a sediment/solids filter on the drain outlet ??
Looks like you might want to install access junctions on each branch of the drain field pipes to allow cleaning of each one...
If you're using a regular pressure washer (500 PSI), this will probably not do the job, since a Drain Jetter is 5000 PSI... Just saying...
I don’t think there is a filter, not something they did back in the day. So far haven’t had any problems with the drain field since jetting it! The pressure washer has a different pump on it, supposed to be 3000 psi, original pump went bad.

So far what we did has been working, we did end up putting the jetter through drain field, though we don't really know how much of it we got.

I hope not! Seems like it was just sludge that was stuck in the drain flied.
First all you did was flush all the solids in that pipe out into the ground .It is the soil that is not working not the pipe that feeds it .What you did will do nothing for you and you will still be back up in a very short time .Some things need to done by a pro.
This video was 4 years ago, drain field has been working better than ever since doing this! I don’t think it was the drain field itself that was full/plugged as much as the pipes!
So at the end it will be like a Democrat Administration. Costly and nothing good at the end.
