- To celebrate the release of the new Pet Shop Boys compilation "Smash" (wich also includes a slightly different "previously unreleased" version of this song) here we have the original unreleased 7" mix..identical in structure to the released version, but with a completely different bass and drums arrangements and production all across the track. At some point I prefer this more simple approach to the finally released version, wich is maybe a little over-produced in my humble opinion.
If you like the music, please support the artist! Buy "Smash" ;).
This was the original version produced by the PSB before the additional production from TE for the single mix that was released.
Wow! I actually prefer this version & agree with you being overly produced. Thanks
Feels much cleaner than the version they did put out which I also felt was overproduced.
Muy buena! es cierto, no está tan saturada de instrumentación como la otra
Drums sound pretty much identical to the Savoy Theatre live version so I agree with the others that this was probably what it sounded like before the Trouser Enthusiasts got involved and they were just working with Pete Gleadall on the programming. The Stuart Price version done on the Electric Tour sounds much more like this one so perhaps he preferred the drums on this one. Great find!
The bass and drums on the "Trouser Enthusiats Mix" sounds pretty much like the arrangements on the released single version, so it´s almost sure that this was their input on the "final version"...and so this must be the original without their involvement. ;)
yes you´re right. Sounds pretty much like the version they played live at the Savoy. I´m not sure if that gig was before or after the release of the single...do you know that info?
So this is the version before the Trouser Enthusiasts did additional production, right?
as this mix came from demo tapes with no credits, I can´t be sure if there is some Trouser Enthusiasts input at that point..but I´m inclined to say that you may be right on that...
@@Pacalo This mix was included on EMI promo tapes.
@@joseluisgarcia6799 yes, those are the tapes I did mention! ;)
We missed your fantastic postings, Pacalo... Welcome back indeed. this is GORGEOUS!!!!!!
Nice, but feels a bit 'thin', more like a fancy demo.
As much as i love the original, this is also a great listen. I feel with the original had everything but the kitchen sink thrown at it ❤
Drums feel cheaper... The rest is ok 👌
I don´t say cheaper..maybe simpler. For me this time, less is more...
