This seems like a great option for a truck camping with a camper shell, on full sized standard truck bed.
Because of the light weight and low height, this would allow you to have an easily removable and stowable sleeping platform that you could also sit on, without banging your head or craning your neck.
It would also be better than a big, bulky inflatable or foam matress, because, when you're not sleeping on it, you could easily flip it on it's side and tie it up out of the way and use the rest of the truck bed for stowing gear.
When you want to clean out and arrange your truck bed storage, you could easily take it out and set it on the ground.
Inflatable and foam mattresses always seem to either fly away in the wind or fall over and get dirty, the instant you remove them from your truck bed to arrange your stuff.
A low height cot seems like a good option for truck topper campers, where head space is limited.

Omg!!! Thank you! Thank you! I was sweating my butt off, trying to snap the legs on. Then I couldn't take them off cuz they were a bit crooked. About to take a nap. The little pillow cracks me up. 😂
I'm 6' 4" about 265 mine works great with a pad and sleeping bag . it packs perfectly in with my other gear on my bike. Need a good rest after riding 500 or more miles a day. I don't go without it now.

The mechanism reminds me of a truckers ratchet strap. Thats how I remember the procedure ! Thanks again, and nicely decorated room btw.
I sleep on my for about a week in Utah. With ThermaPad it was very comfortable. I motorcycle camp so the small pack size is good and an extra 4lbs on the bike is fine.
Great review

I've owned one of these for about 8 months now I've used it a lot and I had no idea what the straps on the bottom were for until seeing this video I've been putting my mat inside the bivvi which is a real pain. This video save me a whole lot of trouble.
that is one slick lookin cot!! this could also double as an emergency litter to carry an injured person to a safe place
Thanks for the review! Also, to assemble these ultra lite type cots inside a 1p, 2p and maybe a 3/4p tent, do not put the side (long) poles together first. Instead, insert one section at a time, sliding them together as they are inserted. Note: I have one of the $40 ones with the "circle" legs. It failed, with the legs rotating sideways, disconnecting and dropping the cot to the ground multiple times on just my second use camping. Sometimes you get what you pay for.
Looks good for car camping if you have smaller tent. Our boyscout troop uses the old canvas pup tents. With a full size cot you can't fit two people in it. For adults sleeping in a smaller tent it's not a bad idea. Now the cost could be a problem. I don't see many people wanting to spend that much. It's better than sleeping on the ground.
Thanks....good for motorcycle camping! I cannot sleep comfortably on the ground any longer, so I am looking for a cot that is comfortable and relatively easy to put together...
Thanks a lot dude. Your breakdown instructions were priceless. It's very nice cot.
I bought one of these and I bottom out and hit the bar going across underneath around my midsection area which is uncomfortable without an inflatable mattress, especially on my side, and I only weigh about 200lbs. But aside from that, the problem I've seen with the legs breaking is not really uneven ground, it's a problem seen with a lot of different cots with this kind of design. It's not uneven ground, it's more of when you have it on a slope or an incline, like a mountain side where there is no level area, the legs fold over because they are not straight up and down, they are at an angle with the gravity of your body weight pushing on them, instead of sliding down the hill like it's wanting to, the legs just fold under and sometimes even break. I've seen this complaint on several different cots of this design before reading reviews on Amazon. If you want to really test it and possibly break a leg, set it up on a hill with an incline and sit on it roughly and move around on it light you move around a lot in your sleep, or push a leg from the side and see if you can fold it over or pop it off of the rail. The point is, if you can, try and find a good level spot if you're going to use one of these type cots and you shouldn't have any issues.
I concur, I think folk are just disassembling the thing the wrong way - if you hadn't demonstrated the correct way I would never have guessed myself; There are plenty UA-cam vloggs showing how to 'assemble' these types of Light Weight Camping Beds but, they never show them being packed back up.
Great Video, thank you. Super Bed for Motorcycle Camping btw.
Chris great video some people will pay for comfert especially if your a backpacker and where your going you plan to be there awhile that bed would make a world of difference. I don't like the hammock so something like that would fit me well
Nice job Chris, my wife would love this cot. Light weight and easy to put together...……...Nice!
pretty nice bushcraft cot
Not sure about that cot, but I've had that same pad for years and love it. No need for the cot with that pad.
Looks like it takes a lot of strength to open and close the handles or whatever you call them.
Interesting choice but cool video. Looks a good and sturdy camp bed. I like to think of them as a good spare bed for home and then the cost doesn’t seem as bad. Gives you loads of options for camping and real life. Found a cool first aid kit product for you. Polymath products first aid kit. Comes in a waterproof pill container basically. Based in the uk but they are on amazon. I know you like you pocket gadgets.
Thanks for the comprehensive video. Personally, I will pass on it. It's just more bulk and weight than I want to add to my load.
Recently, I have started to consider a hammock; to me, that is a more interesting option. Thanks again for an excellent video.
Looks like that system as a complete would offer a good night's sleep, but pricey time you add cot, mat, bed and bag all together. Subjective though like you say, for me I've found a good s.i.m that I chuck a regular sleeping bag on top of and it's adequate for the amount I camp. But some camp more etc etc. Good review. Not in the woods? I thought you lived in the woods 😂
Really nice set up. I have the kamprite tent cot but it’s not that light . Thanks for the info. I’ll have to check them out.
Don’t wait any longer!!!!
Definitely might get one for RAGBRAI and bikepacking with no motor support. What’s another 4.5 lbs in the bike trailer or panniers, when it comes to a comfortable night’s sleep in a tent? This looks fantastic.
Enjoyed the bid. I may buy it. Oh, thanks to you I bought the "Gunny" on sale and the " Legion" ......great knives.
Wait... this is a bit, right? It turns into a knife, right? It lights up? There are knives in the frame...that turn into flashlights?
Stfu
A lot of those camp cots look like their feet would cause damage to tent floors. FWIW, I just use a small Z-lite pad under my thermarest inflatable. I am a side sleeper 100%, so I find the extra comfort it provides is worth the added bulk on the outside of my pack. Its bulky but it weighs next to nothing.
Another great review. Some might consider this a niche item, but there have been some nights I wished for something like it. Still getting used to the cat? Don't sweat it, it'll have you trained in no time.
Why can't the manufacturer just print the instruction on the underside?
They do print it on a percent label on the bag.
Your could be right about how they break it but my guess is ppl from a squatting position fall back on it and put all the weight on one leg/bar/edge and the legs are the weakest part of the 3.
Any idea where to get replacement parts? Having trouble
Thanks for this awesome Cot video.Very cool Cot.
Good review Chris!
I like the concept of this cot a lot. A little wider and longer would be perfect. It seems to be made for Smurfs. Make it at least 6`7 for you non metric people,2 meters for the rest of the world
Nice cot. Cat used a teleportation spell to the cat litter box lol.
Good review, I appreciate it!!!
That seems like that will fit into my regular camp gear
Thank you, sir good information.
And I don't think mine came with instructions either, or decent ones. There is a video on UA-cam where a guy explains how to set up and take down this cot, that's where I learned before I even received the cot. The video was linked from a review on Amazon as people were complaining about how it snaps together but doesn't come back apart easily.
Price to me seems rather legit, anyone who complains about it doesn't yet understand that lighter means more expensive when it comes to camping gear. Hell people will pay 30-80k for a car and continue to sink money into it yet they moan and cry about spending 250-500$ for an ultra light tent. News flash people you can't carry a car into the wood in an emergency. But you sure as hell can take a tent and still be comfortable knowing you only had to spend the money 1 time on it.
The price seems reasonable to me, the cot looks well made I could use it with my bivy tent
Anything that keeps u off cold ground is good
Do you think the cot feet will poke holes in the tent floor?
I like this because I can stick it under the pickup canopy and crash.
But easily stowed away
Very good review
Great execution. Shububiddy-bop
Wow, that was a great review.
Do you have foot parts for ultralight Kingcamp cot for sale?
Top man, great vid🙏👏🏴🇬🇧
This cot should be fairly priced at $69.95. I’ll wait for the price to drop due to negative reviews.
Positive: Lightweight
Negative: Price and it appears the feet lack heavy duty rubber pads.
Right on!
Nice review. Thank you so much!

For irregular areas is it recommended? do not break the support points?
Instructions are sewn onto the inside of the storage bag
The uneven ground is meaning a hill. As I understand it, if you put it on a slight hill, your head going uphill, and you toss and turn, the legs can pop off the side rails and then the cot will fall. I have a different brand and several reviewers said that's what happens. I haven't been camping with mine yet, but have put it together and tried it out.
Still can't picture it. But OK.
Looks like it could be nice for some people, but for the price, I would have to explore many other options that's available!. Thanks for the review.
well played.
For me it's a good price. Some good inflatable sleeping pads cost more.
Really good thorough review Chris.

seems like it has to many bolts, screws and springs. But good vid ,Thanks (your feet remind my of Bilbo Baggins) lol
Wearing a camping knife and your at home, lolhahsha

This cot is $99 on eBay if someone interested buying it.
Very nice thank you Lol I love burritos.Happy father's day
Too too expensive, the magellon camp cot that is similar is 39 bucks, it's a little heavier, but with car camping the weight doesnt make a difference.
Tried them, both me and my kid could feel the metal pins below! Returned them and got my money back.
Great. You know where they're going to end up? My house. 😄 I'll keep an eye out.
Nice. Happy belated Father's Day.
Great design but a bit much to take camping for those that subscribe to the KISS mentality.
Aliens beamed up the cat!
Iron rods can be felt when you lie on bed.
I like that. Great review Chris
I think i could bring this backpacking. 😊
The legs seem unnecessarily complicated but a pretty nice unit overall. A good nights sleep can't be beat when you're in the woods.
They're actually pretty easy once you do it once. I set it up and left it together for weeks. Then I had to remember how the hell it worked.
Yep too much
I think there's most likely instructions for it somewhere on the web. I also think it's like any other piece of equipment: if you use it within the parameters it was intended to operate, then you shouldn't have any problems. I'm a fat guy, I've had health issues and now not even the fat guy cots I got may not work for me. But I sure wish this sort of cot was around in my younger years!!!
Dozens of cots out there... this one appears OK. Tricky??? Maybe... however like you, I'd say doubtful if average intelligence and patience is considered. For outfitting and guiding rafting trips on remote rivers here in Alaska, I use Roll-a-Cots (made in USA) and Go-Cots (made in USA). Good-quality, quite sturdy, relatively simple and reliably comfortable (especially w/ pad), plus relatively rapid to deploy as these cots are... There is always some customer (rental individuals in particular) that unfortunately will overthink, be too gung-ho, or just willfully abuse gear. The one downfall I see with most cots is the fact that they destroy many a tent floor on makes/models that do not factor in their usage. Several of my tents for example have built in heavier duty double floors. Stick those legs on a more typical fabrication without mitigating or padding for wear a tear is like putting your tent floor between a rock and a hard place. Hope you and your viewers find my commentary useful. I'd be interested in testing/reviewing this Cot as well... if you have any ideas please let me know.
Hey Chris I was wondering, I have a thermarest 4 inch mondoking mattress that is 80”x 30” do you think it would fit ok or do you have any other suggtions? I’m looking for something that’s not high like this one is like 4.5 inch high?
Thanks for your time
I think so. Double check the dimensions on the link.
teton sports outfitter xxl cot is my choice been using it for years
Did I miss the camp 10 giveaway winner?
No
Good video. Thanks.
great for motorcycle campers!!
I love the design but it looks just barely wide enough for a child. Unless an adult want to sleep on their side all night till their arms go numb I’d say save your money. It should had been made wider.
If it jams force it. If it breaks it needed replacing anyway.
Looks great for a LW option, but not for all the noobs and self-destructive campers.
Already liked before watched, suck it haters. This would be perfect for my ''Survival'' kit. Thanks Chris because Brick not hit back
OK, USA!
Hahahah I knew you would
I just watched more Van Dammage... Universal Soldier: The Return featuring The host of "Knife or Death"...
Universal soldier the first one was the best one IMO. Another classic flick LIONHEART!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Tell Amazon and the maker that you'll make an Instruction Video, for the right price of course.😁
Lol stupid cat, gotta love it tho
Did I hear a chair give away coming soon?
Picking on the people who have broken these was a bit arrogant, especially when you who deals with this type of thing regularly, admits it was a bit tricky.
Still a good review though
Okaaay....
Ok but don't break it...……………...DAH
Nahhh, Chris is right. People need to do their research when it comes to operating gadgets. Don’t be stubborn... Read the manual or get online.
Chris wasn't being arrogant about people struggling with the set-up & tear-down. He was pointing out that people don't follow the instructions, then break them, then leave a bad review & send back to the supplier to get their money back. Scam artists.
To expensive and to much work
