  • I recently got myself a capture device that accepts HDMI, Composite, Component, and VGA input, so finally I can record footage of consoles and, more importantly to me, older PCs. Eventually I plan on using it to record a few walkthroughs on games that have been on my to-do list for what feels like ages, but for now I'm just happy to try it out with other things.
Anyways, if anyone wants to run a newer build of ScummVM on their Wii, with all the compatibility updates it brings, the nightly builds are the way to go, since the official stable build hasn't been updated since version 1.5.0 (from 2012!).

The Wii Remote acts like the mouse for a PC. Right?

Wonderful gameplay! This video reminds me that I haven't been playing Humongous Entertainment games on my Jet Black Nintendo GameCube via the GameCube/Wii CodeJunkies SD Media Launcher in a few years, so I should consider playing them on there again sometime because it was great fun as it let me play HE games on a Nintendo console without modding (modifying) it at all.

The Gamecube is definitely a fun system to do homebrew-related stuff on too. I've got an Action Replay that lets me launch into ScummVM, and if you've got a Game Boy Player, the homebrew Game Boy Interface software is the best way to play those games on the big screen. Which is a good thing, since the GB Player's original launcher discs are as expensive as any first-party game for the same system. Better to save that money and just get the hardware without the disc!

      @@Retrotude I agree!
I have always wanted the Game Boy Player and its startup disc for the Nintendo GameCube, but they shockingly cost a lot of money, which sellers have been doing for several years. It isn't fair since I would love to be able to play Game Boy Color and Game Boy Advance games (after starting to purchase them because I've never had portable video game consoles) on the Nintendo GameCube and display them on my family's 2018 LG 4K TV. I believe it will be much easier to just buy a Game Boy Advance console at some point in the future.
