While that telling of Dune didn't turn out to stand the test of time it does not surprise me in the least that William Hurt understood everything about the universe and his character. Nor does it surprise me that he was so willing to share everything he knew. Lovely that Oscar went out of his way to tell that story and honor Hurt.
@@r3v3rbs0ul even though that Dune, as you say, didn’t stand the test of time, William Hurt’s Duke had that wonderful nobility that was right for the role, and it’s certainly a great gesture that he shared his insights with Oscar Isaac. There was obviously much mutual respect between these two great actors.
Agreed, I love the handful of celebs that feel like if the dice were rolled differently they could just as easily been your neighbor. They are good looking neighbors yes, but just like normal people who happen to be famous.
I have that miniseries and the 2nd part Children of Dune- I rewatch them all the time, while not "movie quality" they have a lot of excellent performances and effects- this new Dune series will top them, but I feel the TV miniseries was better than David Lynch's 80's Dune, which I also still enjoy- and of course, get the books and delve deep into them
William Hurt's Duke Leto was so on-point. No wonder Oscar asked for advice from him. Didn't know he had passed away, realy sad to hear that. He always brought something special to his parts, i cant quite put my finger on it, and he was part of some of my favourite films/series like Dune and Dark City. Rest in peace.
I really hope he gets an excuse to break out that beautiful beard in another movie. The rest of the film was epic but Leto’s beard really stole the show.
I wasn't impressed with the remake of Dune. It looked visually beautiful but I think the original flushed out who Paul's father was and who the harkonnens were😴
Due to the concept of "genetic memory" in the Dune universe, Oscar Isaac could potentially appear in ALL future sequels - when the spice agony awakens your ancestral memory. Yes it's essentially the Dune universe version of a Force-ghost in Star Wars.
This reminds me of when an actor from True Blood , Stephen Moyer auctioned off his modesty sock (signed) for charity . It was hilarious. There was so much nudity on the show, the male actors referred to it as "The Sock of Destiny" . LOL
This is just awesome. Since the recent DUNE film came out, people only referred to the 80s movie, and yet many overlooked the 2000s mini series. The late William Hurt was a great Duke Leto Atreides, and he in a behind the scenes of it said he was a fan of DUNE. So seeing Oscar Isaac mentioning William Hurt in his role and his understanding of DUNE is just the best.
Was cool to see Oscar get his career look in the Bourne whatever one that was. I don't watch any Marvel stuff, but I'll definitely check this one out. Great to watch his star rising. Bless
Oh dear, they showed this reveal here already? I'm glad I didn't watch this episode earlier, watching it for the first time made me enjoy the scene so much more.
Happy Birthday Oscar Isaac. Your one of the best actor in Star Wars, man. UR legend. I love Star Wars Episode 7 The Force Awakens, Episode 8 The Last Jedi, Episode 9 The Rise of Skywalker and Spider-Man Into the Spider-Verse. Spider-Man Into the Spider-Verse was totally awesome. Star Wars is awesome as shit. All of them r my first favorite movies. All Star Wars movies. Love this guy. May the Peace be with u Poe Dameron. From Harlingen Texas. March 9, 1979 March 9, 2023 through March 9, 3023
There is a role for Issacs to return if they keep going through the books. But it will be many films off. Jason Mamoa on the other hand better free up his diary
Oscar Isaac is one of the best actors around, and a lovely human being. And I love that he gave such a wonderful tribute to William Hurt 💖

@@BrianSmith-ez9kj LOVE the books!
It’s heartwarming to learn that William Hurt had a deep respect for Dune and shared that with Oscar.
Also the miniseries ain't overly well known so think it's telling of Oscars genuine love of Dune that he has respect for Hurts performance
I own that miniseries and it's damn good
Hey didn’t William hurt harass his daughter? Someone please clarify for me..
Congrats to John Batiste! This is such a wonderful wonderful accomplishment. And well deserved!
How can you not love Oscar Isaac?
Like this.
@@billfoster5257 lol
I love him.
I can’t forgive him after sucker punch 😭😭
by not knowing about him. its the only way i see.
Oscar Issac is the best actors around. Wonderful human being. He totally nailed the role of Moon Knight.
I love that inside Llewyn Davis is one of the movies Stephen uses to announce Oscar, still one of my favourite performances of his
I couldn't even explain why, but I love that movie
@@chrissiek8706 it’s a one of a kind film.
He should have gotten an Academy Award nomination for that movie.
“The scene…I finished the scene!” 😂
He’s got the Cumberbatch factor like I just smile while I watch him say whatever words he’s saying
But can he say, “Penguin?” 😆

such a bummer that oscar won't be on Dune part 2. but so excited to watch Moon Knight ep 2!

@@andrewnibbi There's always Ex Machina if you are jonesing for some Isaac Beard.
There could always be flashbacks!!! Quite a bit was left out of pt 1 that should be referenced in pt 2!

"Some thicc fremen" underrated joke
I loved his performance in Ex- machina
... What a great actor and a great guy....
Oscar is definitely one of my favorites. He's an awesome Steven, Marc and Moon Knight !
I like how they made it more of a Mummy type of vibe with Moon Knights outfit, good stuff.

I need Oscar to get an Oscar nomination
The fact that an actor on the level of William Hurt gave Oscar character notes says a lot.
one of my new favorite actors, especially after Ex Machina. Of course, who didn't love him in Dune.
He was actually one of the few actors who felt true to the books. Carried off Duke Leto perfectly.
What a class act! Love Oscar Issac!
I've never been a huge fan of his but He rocked it in this and Dune. Well done Mr. isaac.
OSCAR ISAAC, Adam Driver, Mahershala Ali, Andrew Garfield - I LOVE THEM FERVENTLY! ♥
Overwonderfull Oscar, one of a kind, mega star , the most lovable man in the world 🥰🥰🥰
He's such a cool guy. Seems very approachable. Wonderful actor. 👏
Spoiler: Moon Knight is about a vigilante who flashes his ass.
😂😂
The Moon Knight Rises. ^^
I wonder if he’ll have a crossover with Man-Thing.
"...so afterward, I finished"
That's a 'happy sock' you're thinking of...
Inside Llewyn Davis is such a good movie, he's done great work since then too but I think that's his best performance imo
Moon Knight is twisted and weird. But interesting at the same time. Can't wait for the rest.
Guy is a GOOD actor. Dune is not my personal jam, but he brings it to everything he does. With persuasive power.
You could say the guy channels a lot of... Oscar power

Fantastic movie. Really hoping Oscar returns in a later Marvel movie.

Almost finished book 6 of the dune series. Jason Momoa will have a lot of work if they do all 6 books.
We’ll have to clone him…. Lol…
Latin men are the hottest. But, yes Isaac is this generation's talented actor, everything he does is spectacular but my god this man is also gorgeous!

eh..that’s a bit bias. lots of people of different races and ethnicities can be equally attractive. but oscar is hella attractive for sure.
Gorgeous as always!!

The moon knight is so effing good can't wait for episode 3
Oscar Isaac is fine af😍
Damn I must be the only one who hasn’t seen dune yet cause they just threw his death out there like nothing 😂.

Oh THATS the Grammy winner eh? He's the lead singer in Colbert's show's band. So that's who he is.
The welcome music is such class
