Agreed, and for me a bit uncomfortable. Stephen isn't used to being bested at his own game, and I feel Josh did that. It was friendly, but I felt there was a true competitiveness that Josh was winning in front of Stephen's audience. (In all fairness, Stephen started it.)
Didn’t know what a goof Josh Brolin is. Fun! Best interview (?) in a long time. Just fun stuff, made me laugh and made me forget the rest of the world for a moment. Comedy at its best.
@@dangerfly Yeah, and so many people were watching Conan's show that he had to retire. Why do we need to compare always? Just enjoy the thing for what it is
DEF a Bromance. ❤🎉 So NICE, to see two grown ass men on t.v. being kind and respectful to each other, but with that special friendship layer of embarrassing pics or videos. 😂❤
Wow.. I don't know that I've ever seen Stephen play the straight guy so genuinely. Totally, selflessly uncool, yet so heartfelt and joyous. Really spectacular.
This interview was basically the part 2 of the interview with Rebecca Ferguson. Watching these 2 back to back makes for the entire big picture. A truly chaotic bilogy !
Oh man, I miss this chaos. Today's appearances are so over controlled. Josh gave us a glimpse of the old talk show days when you never knew what was happening next.
Seth is more relaxed and I think Stephen is good depending who he's with. Some actors have very tight control over their appearances. If it's someone he knows it's usually much better. I find Kimmell to be somewhere in the middle wile Fallon is the worst. It has the appearance of a looser style with those stupid games he plays but it's obvious they have set things up before hand. Like when they coincidentally pick the exact impression the guest is great at and things like that and Fallon is on the verge of a heart attack every time he laughs.
Mr. Colbert, please take notes. We need more interviews like this. Hypertext (another interview tape referring to the current interview), surprise guests, poems, banter, respect...
That was one of the coolest interviews! Actually, it was more like a couple of bros havin' a blast. Thanks fellas for inviting us into your bro party, very cool!
This has the energy of two dad's who'll wrestle shirtless at the end of a barbecue when they discover they both were in the same competition Back in 1878.
Every single time I think, nah I'm not watching the interview, but inevitably I end up watching about 50% of them and that half? Fantastic. Of all those, this one? Easily top 10, despite having a bit of a 'see how the sausage is made' vibe.
I'm actually with Stephen on this -- when he came out and said his own name, I really think he said it more like Stephen did, so I am confused why he gave the win to Josh! Lol
@@sindylouwho5813 As a french-speaking Québécois, I can tell you: on their first try, Brolin was closer than Colbert to the right pronounciation. The -eu in "Villeneuve" sounds a lot, though not exactly, like the "e" sound in the word "the".
I don't own a television, so the only time I see this show is through these clips on UA-cam. I've seen some great guests, and very interesting interviews, but this is absolutely my favorite one I've seen by far.
Brolin is such a good talk show guest. He has such a weird sense of humor. I remember him from Letterman days and even back then he was chat show gold.
You can tell when a director is great to work with when they form relationships with with actors and want to work with them again and again. A big part of that has to be the professional relationship of knowing that this is someone who can give you what the film needs. But to form friendships with the cast like this shows how enjoyable he is to work with.
that's one hell of a bromance! 😂
These are the moments we join for
Would it be a Brol-mance?

this wasn't an interview this was just another hang sesh between two bros. Phenomenal.

*Bros being bros*

more like Brolins being Brolins

Watch his recent interview with Rebecca Ferguson. It was a hurricane of charisma

This interview was so off the rails but in the best way. So clear they are buddies.

Barbara Streisand & Chris Nolan were pretty amazing. Stephen’s interviews all-around have been phenomenal the past year.
Brolin and Gosling are my favourite Colbert guests. Always reeking absolute havoc 😂😂😂

The highest compliment for a witty nerd. ❤️🤓
Conan would have handled that with a deprecating joke that makes him even cooler.

Josh Brolin has really stood the test of time. He's been my bro ever since he played big brother "Brand" in The Goonies.

Reminds me of Conan with Timothy Olyphant or Kevin Nealon
He was about to pee on Stephen's desk...giving so much of his bodies moisture...what a gift!!
That was unhinged. I loved it!
Can ALL interviews be like this? This is entertainment!
One of the best late night interviews I've seen in a long time lol
He called Brolin "Bro" and I think that's awesome 🤣
No matter what Josh does with his career, all good things so far, he will forever live in my heart because of The Goonies 💜
OMG! Damn this was funny! Couldn't stop laughing. Like 2 boys playing. I LOVED IT!!!! 😂
This is absolute chaos and I love it! 😂
Josh can get it! Yass, Zaddy! And the roasting?! Totally here for it! ❤
Spoken like a true White Girl
This is the most weird and funny interview I've ever seen on The Late Show.
Look for his interview with Russell Crowe and Ryan Gosling, that one is even more chaotic and hilarious.

Josh has got to be the coolest guy I have ever seen on the Colbert show.
I so truly laughed out loud during this interview. I need more.
Is there anything more wholesome than two wildly successful and talented middle aged men goofing around during an interview? 😂
I'm old enough to have children who watched The Goonies with a young Josh as a character. Still one of my favorites.
this and rebecca's interview are a riot! the older cast of Dune are the cooler ones!!
