Returning motif, the one to die as the soul already knows about its imminent departure always sends away the present one(s) with some excuse or just avoids the presence of anybody. My Grand grandmother sent my grandmother to buy some cotton fabric and by the time the poor child returned, found her dead mother. Strong.
The best serial I have ever seen. From Canada, I have been hooked to this serial. What a performance by Esma and all the other cast. Kudos to all! All the best.

The young couple that played Esma and Garip had great chemistry as did the older Esma and Garip, Great Casting they were a joy to watch

These actors are some of the BEST I’ve ever seen in any movie!! Faruk is a just gifted actor!! Esma played that part with Alzheimer’s superbly! Wow!! FEREK!! I cried soooooo! You would have thot someone in my family died!! Even ADEM has just been unbelievable!!! Wow!!! The whole town honored the life of ESMA!!! Whew!! I’m just wondering what’s next!!!🤣🤣

It's like the family knew something was going to happen that day. The parallel of a new beginning for a little girl as one is escorted out was seamless. Again, Osman's character that usually is full of wisdom and hope gets lost at the end of this series. The writers did no justice for his development and with Anastasia. I would have loved to have seen him end up with Ipek's cousin who would have given him some spark.
Yeah, my heart goes out to him but this is realistic. Dementia is cruel and unfair. Anastasia doesn't seem to be the one for Osman and that's okay. He doesn't need to rush just because everyone else is getting married and starting families.
I wonder in real life how soon the real esma died after garip’’s death . Fascinating family but can’t find much about them online

Extremely sad episode. My mom has Alzheimer’s as well. This series has helped me immensely. She is in care, and with Covid, unable to have visitors right now. This is the only turkish tv drama that is long (very long) but is not too dragging.
Like compared for example to the series Elif or/and Can't stop loving you.
Too many emotions in this series a d I love it so much. I have cried,..aughed and most of learnt a lot about family, love, patience, and forgiveness. I keep repeating and can't stop watching it over and over. Thank you to everyone who made it possible to take part of this series ❤❤❤❤❤
my mom and her sisters had a Caregiving business. I was a 12-year-old caregiver. Helping my mom with an elderly lady who had Alzheimer. I felt so bad for her. I am grateful I was there to help my mom and especially help her patient. May she rest in Peace. the lady looked like Marilyn Monroe (without the surgery and hair dye) and had a name like her too Mariyan. Beautiful lady.
I'm from the beautiful Island of Barbados, and I just fall in love with this drama, Magnificent. Bravo to the entire cast

This is SUCH a sad episode , my eyes are swollen from crying, Love Sureya's connection with her in-law, and the boys!! Best Turkishs series I have ever watch. Lost both parents in less than a year and almost to the day - my mom and then my dad.
When dad left us, it was especially surreal. Grief is numbing, shocking, violent, unpredictable. I remember standing in my parent’s empty house and saying to my 4 sisters, “We are orphans, now.” It felt that way.
The story of Sude (an orphan - no more) beside Esma’s passage is a beautiful call to hope and to love and to keep looking up.

Your comment makes me so sad because I still have both parents and I cannot imagine your loss. The deaths of parents, spouses and children are disorienting - it takes away your most significant points of reference as a person. It's no wonder so many elderly simply fade away after their spouses die. Parents who outlive their children often cannot live the rest of their lives to the fullest. I hope you have many wonderful memories of your family to look back on.

This is not just a TV drama or movie but based on facts a real life story maybe that's why it's so moving
It was interesting to see how differently the boys reacted to the news. Sureyya lost yet another mother.
When Garip died I was watching the series on my phone at a coffee shop. People around me were staring at me with concern as I was shaking and crying - It was so unexpected. Finally, a man came over and asked me if someone close to me had died. I was too embarrassed to tell him it was a television series so I immediately left the cafe and I've made sure to watch all the episodes from home now.

The only mistake in the show was not getting Murak back with Bade
It looks like they memorialized her the day she died. I guess we see tomorrow if she is buried the same day? Is that customary for the culture? Then they can say Murat didn't have time to fly back?

This is bitter sweet for me as this series is getting ready to wrap up. This is my second most favorite Turkish series …. Black Money Love is number one for me and this is number two. Beautiful cast and I am fighting back tears as I watch it all come to an end …. Thanks again to the writers and all the cast

So the writers have the young Esma meet the young Garip, in the forest beyond the garden, and the older Esma and Garip met in their deaths, in that favorite place Esma said she wanted to alway be - Garip remembered where to meet her.
And the 2 swans swimming in is like they are taking a journey together from that point.
My heart is with Osman. Out of everyone, Esma forgot who he was first and the interactions at breakfast, although funny, would have been so painful.

Wow, Esmas acting out of this world. Esma role reminded me of my mother, I cried many tears. She remembered her father and mother's love, especially her dad, what a wonderful heart trembling story of women and of all lives she touched in a positive manner . Thank you so much for such a inspirational story of a women. I learnt life cannot planned but must be lived with dignity resilience optimistim above all hope and courage. I hope I stay strong all through my life and smile.

I find amazing they showed the general public in shock along with her family. That shows she was well loved and respected by the whole city.
And she's gone with the wind... 💕Sezen Aksu's (song Sır/Efsane kadın) was the perfect song choice for these scenes.
Garip's passing was also symbolized with the flowing curtains in the bedroom. We are all simply energy that joins the universe when we leave.

It's hard to post there b/c you don't want to spoil anything for new viewers. Unfortunately someone had posted that Garip and Esma die and that was when I was at episode 180, so i kept waiting...
Really sweet that the mosque announced Esma’s passing, I remember she hosted a Ramadan dinner after the fast on a mosque’s premises. Everyone in the area and the market where she shopped will know and attend her funeral.

Did everyone cry as much as I did when Asma died? I think Asma and Grib's love story was so beautiful. I loved seeing scenes showing when they were young as well as 40 years later. Amazing series, breathtaking love stories, heartbreaking, and realistic dealing with Alzheimer. Best Turkish series.

I admired Esma. As a mother she gave the besg upbringing to her 4 children who are all boys. Best guidance, values moulded them with good character discipline education so the 4 boys grew up good and righteous. They are closed with each other. Love ,understanding and honesty and respect obedience according to the family standard that Esma followed in moulding her children. Thus they grew up as a good and righteous individuals. Esma is victorious and successful in moulding her children into righteousness. Praised God.

Esma, hope you won a award for your role in B.O.I, you were fantastic, the whole cast is good. but I have to say, the Director of series 2 I'm not sure if its the same director of series 1, but you have wasted so much time, playing music and dropping the speech, and its done a lot in some of the important parts of the series, such as Esmas funeral....
