Hardwire Supernatural - Hauntingly Beautiful Reverb
Вставка
- Опубліковано 28 чер 2024
- Somewhere around 2012, the Hardwire division of Digitech put out a B-Side of the RV-7 Reverb called the Supernatural. Or maybe it was just "Supernatural". Either way, it's an all-black pedal that starts where the other pedals left off. Plunging into deep space reverb with chorus and flanging effects, the Supernatural is built for creating rich ambient soundscapes. How well does it hold up 10 years later? You be the judge.

Great playing in this episode ! Congrats on your channel, you have something that Josh, Fluff and all the others do not. Can't quite put my finger on it but it's different in a good way. You are doing a really great job and it's relaxing and educational to watch your demonstrations. Keep it up !
Thank you so much. I’m really standing on the shoulders of giants here, but I’ll take the compliment
Totally agree.
I’m gonna tell Josh, and Fluff that you hate them
You wear it well....the compliment....keep doing it your way....simple and honest.
This reverb it's just awesome, I really love it the way it sounds...
Excellent video, greetings from Colombia.
Thank you Gallego! :waves:
Best stompbox videos on UA-cam by miles, please never stop you rock.
Aww that made my day. Thank you!!
Nice pedal! I wasn't actually aware of this range, so thanks for the introduction. Really enjoyed your playing too. I love those '90s Les Paul Studios.
Thank you so much!
Fantastic review of one of my all-time favourite pedals! 😀👍
I'm really fussy with reverb and this thing blows most other reverb pedals I've tried, completely out of the water!
Thank you! I was hoping it’d live up to your expectations, I know this is a favorite of yours
There is a iStomp model that sounds very similar, its called Angelic Choir.
I have an iStomp so that was a very useful reference point - tack!!!
Far OUT. That was way ahead of its time and holds up really well! The first jam, super tasty gilmour tones!
Peace and love to Duchess.
Thank you. Definitely a neat pedal, glad you like the jam!
I've come to enjoy how you showcase your pedals from old to new in no particular order. While most channels want to lean on new releases, you're out here demo-ing whatever shedding fresh light on units sitting by the wayside.
Thank you! Yeah, the way I see it, if I haven't played around with it, then it's new to me... doesn't matter if it came out in 2022 or 1994. I also think there's a (rapidly dwindling) sweet spot of 90's/early 2000's pedals that got overlooked, and are just waiting for the right person to find them and give them a second chance.
I think you just put your finger on what's unique and great about this channel
I have one of these , cost me £75 ($100) new about 5 or 6 years ago. Can't believe how much they sell for these days. Love mine will never leave my board , holds up pretty well against some quite expensive verbs even today.
Worth it for the Spring and Plate modes alone, the spring covers your classic verb very well, and the Plate is beautiful, so is the MOD setting and the other modes are fun and great for ambient things. Very simple to use , very nice sounding, just a great pedal
Jhs inspired I see keep up the great work bro keep that hustle
So soulful, that intro jam!!! mmmmmmm Papaaaa
I bought this about six years ago as I wanted a shimmer effect but didn't have the money for a Blue Sky. The Strymon will probably always be the gold standard, but this unit is excellent in its own right.
That pedal is pretty!
Lexicon Hardwire RV-7 Stereo Reverb contains Lexicon Reverbs which are among the best ever created.
True, I randomly bought it when I was young. Now I appreciate it more than ever!
Love the flange and pherb. I would use that spring too.
Side note:
I wish I hadn’t sold my voodoo labs trem.
I have since vowed to sell no more gear.
Same. Too many times, I bought a $100 pedal, sold it for $90, then had to re-buy it for $120
@@StompboxBreakdown
Yep. Got it for 54!
Broke even on selling it after reverb fees/shipping to buy the Hydra, which is great pedal but the tone of the voodoo labs is just right.
Now I’ve just resigned myself to getting the Mr. Black Pan-a-trem when I can afford it.
I love this pedal, and I have been looking for it for some time. I found out tho that it has been discontinued for some time now, if it can be found it will be at an unacceptably higher cost. I contacted the company and there are no plans to bring this pedal back.i was referred to the Polaris or the rv7 nither of which are what I wanted.
To be fair, although bought by Cort, there seems to be no immediate plans for any builds from Digitech/DOD
@@stario that's sad , DOD/Digitech made some great and affordable pedals.
@@jimsinister13 Absolutely. I preferred them over Boss once I discovered them
@@stario I wasn't 8nto pedals for a while when I started playing guitar and effects processors took too long to find a sound, tweek it to my liking them save the preset. Took all the fun and spontaneity out playing, got into peddles during lockdown (thanks Amazon) lol. I hope they start making those pedals again. You can find them on the used market but the mark up is insane.
Ha! I just bought a Smashbox too. It’s so awesome coming out of my Vox. 😂
Aren’t these lexicon effects in a pedal-form? This one’s great.
The Lexicon effects are amazing, really a good use of the companies being under the same umbrella. I've got a fairly simple rackmount Lexicon unit that always works magic on vocals.
And YEAH Smashbox. It's 0-100 in a hurry, but never gets too hairy. Ibanez made some really interesting stuff that only lasted a few years in production.
They’d make even more money re-issuing some things from the 10 & tone-lock series … even a couple of sound-tanks would benefit from a re-issue.
Cool into ☮️
This pedal has the only shimmer sound I’ve ever liked
Just bought one for $20 with the box!
But it says digitech instead of hardware
Interesting. Curious about that one!!
@@StompboxBreakdown I believe they are manufactured at the same facility. The box does have the Hardware logo on it as well at the digitech
@@StompboxBreakdown it has all the same settings and looks on it
Imagine Ibanez trying to reissue the Smash Box in 2023.
A man can dream
I have this pedal. It's OK! I think that I prefer TC HoF more in how the reverb sounds. (I have the TC Arena and the TC Trinity which are variations of the HoF). The Neunaber Wet is also excellent. I think this pedal sounds good when the reverb mix is a little lower and more dry signal is retained. I think that the Supernatural would be a good reverb to stack on top of other reverbs.
