Definitely watch the live. Especially this song. You’ll be blown away. Although the studio version has overdubbed guitars that has a more complex sound. Jimmy does an excellent job on the live version. And Bonham is frankly unbelievable.
Their live performances at Madison Square Garden 1973 .... The Song Remains The Same .... the song and the whole concert will have you mesmerized and cranking thru the whole thing from start to finish. Their are many live performances on UA-cam you will not be disappointed. ✌️😎

They do a great live version of this at Knebworth 79. The Song Remains The Same and Rain Song from MSG 73 is another underplayed classic. In The Light is an underappreciated studio track. Basically they never fail, even their deep album cuts whatever the genre they nail it

@ I believe those two along with Ian Paice (Deep Purple), Ginger Baker (Cream), and Stuart Copeland (The Police) were my biggest influences and I know they inspired and influenced a whole generation of drummers like Danny Carrey, Lars Ulrich, Vinnie Paul and so many others 🤘🏻
If you haven't seen/heard them live, then you really need to check them out. As amazing as their studio work is, they were a performance band with amazing improv skills. There is tons of great stuff on UA-cam, and on their channel especially. I recommend anything from their MSG '73 shows (which they also turned into an excellent concert film called "The Song Remains the Same"). My personal favourite is "Since I've Been Loving You". If you want to see them at their blues-rock improv finest, try their Royal Albert Hall show from '70. Other great videos are "Immigrant Song Live 1972", which is a mashup of audio and video from two different outdoor concerts they played that year; and "Kashmir" from their Knebworth '79 concert. Earls Court '75 has some great stuff as well, especially "Going to California" and "That's the Way".

This song is so epic. It is the opening song from the album “Presence.” From the same album I suggest you check out the closing song “Tea for One” which has another stellar vocal performance by Robert Plant and is a very satisfying end to a great (and I believe underrated) Led Zeppelin album.
Yeah, Tangerine is a great song, best version I ever heard was I think around 2000 when Jason Bonham took the place of his dad at the O2 in London. Seriously inspired version. Don't know if it was recorded, but truly awesome version that day. And Jason is the most Awesome inspired drummer!

I had their first album custom recorded on 8 track for my car in 67. I had to get it recorded because it wasn't available on 8 track at the time. I was the onlyvone yhatxhad one for a time.

I’m sure there’s many amazing songs you don’t know, because everything is so great. They are actually even better live, certain footage of some songs, is better than other footage. Royal Albert Hall (1970), many great early songs, including Bonham’s 15 minute Moby Dick solo. Madison Square Garden (1973) everything is excellent. Since I’ve Been Loving You, is a must live. Live at Earls Court (1975) the 12 minute 4 second version of In My Time Of Dying, Page kills the slide guitar, & one of their greatest live songs. Great reaction!! This song has always blown me away! The speed & intensity of it all...wow! Every member is firing on all cylinders, with nitrous, and quad turbos! Jimmy, John, Robert & especially Bonham are off the chain here! My 'sleeper' track is No Quarter and Bron-Y-Aur. These guys can rock out all day, but it's the psychedelic and trippy vibe of No Quarter that gets me, and Bron-Y-Aur off Physical Graffiti is one of THE most beautiful acoustic tracks in music...but it's too short! for context, prior to this album, robert got a terrible accident while on vacation in greece, ruptured his ankle (achilles) and almost killed his family the cancelled their tour but still have to produce albums, so robert recorded this while in a wheelchair

Plant was in a wheelchair when making this album, not knowing if he’d ever walk again. Plant & his wife & kids were in a serious car accident in Greece. His wife almost died, both of them sustained serious injuries, plants leg was crushed pretty bad . He was in a wheelchair for about a year, at first it was called the wheelchair song.
@ sadly in 1977, Plant & his wife lost their 5 year old son to a stomach virus. The band didn’t play for 2 years, the Knebworth 2 concerts were them getting back into it. Anything you do, just disclose it’s a song you know, I don’t mind if you have, others might if you don’t disclose.

I started playing drums in the school band in the late 70s. I started playing the kit in 1980. This song was always one of my favorites to play.
