I skate the neen twin nose decks, it's nice because you never have to think about getting your board around for certain tricks, the razor tail gets evenly distributed, same for pressure cracks. It's pretty great
@@localjoe try one of the twin noses next if you can. I guess the only real downside is that there's so few twins out there, I bought 15 of the neens at the beginning of the lockdowns because I saw the amount of stock dropping on all my favorite sites. It kinda paid off lol
That's dope, are slicks making a comeback? I haven't seen those since the 90s. I always felt like popsicles should be completely symmetrical, so might have to check one of these out if they make 'em a little wider.
I keep switching between neens 8.5 twin nose and ishods 8.5 twin tail. I like the twin nose more when I’m skating transition because it’s a long ass board like 33 inches so I feel more stable. The twin tail is my street setup, way easier to flip the board when it’s only 31 inches long
@Local Joe We always like the setup videos! Btw instead of getting new bushings you can sort of 'reset' your current bushings. Just make the trucks very loose and do a few straight up / down ollies.
@@localjoe Krooked does release a twin tail slick, but only the same 8.38, usually as a Bobby Worrest board. Have you seen Ishod Wair discuss his setup on Nine Club recently, it is interesting for sure, 8.38 twin tail, Thunder 147s using 3 washers inside the wheels(Spitfire classics, F4?) to push them out.
lol I gave up on creative grip jobs with black grip. I go with clear and some stickers for decks that I find have a "purty" top . I have the Bobby Worrest version of this exact deck...it's literally the exact deck with a different graphic. Even the stickers have Ishod's name crossed out and Bobby's name scribbled in lol. I haven't gotten around to skating it because I have a couple of cheap decks to go through before I get to it. Thing is if you look at it closely you can clearly see there's a distinct difference between the nose and tail...it's subtle and while they're the same length...the nose is ever so slightly wider and just a hair steeper... I've thought about getting Neen's twin nose, but I know he likes his decks flat as hell...and I hate flat decks...Ishod's is flat enough as it is...
@@localjoe It's great when a deck is just right. That's pretty much how I felt with my Foundation deck. Even though it's basically done, I still keep it set up and use it to stand on a practice static manuals on it while a I watch TV...lol
The car with the rocket on the back is probably the flux compacitor from back to the future great vid tho thinking about getting either a twin tail or real board
Haha I didn’t look that closely but someone already corrected me. I definitely recommend real boards but not their price point boards. Had one and it broke in a week. But the normal pro boards are tanks
If I’m multitasking when setting up my board or talking to someone I sometimes put the wheels on the wrong way round but never anything crucial like the trucks.
Next time when doing the strip bro, just do it on a clean table. Pull that paper off and do 1 side first, file then cut then you’ll have the other half to place onto the other side
So mark the middle at 3 points of the board, and dont cut the grip at half, just put the grip at your marks and then cut it and put the grip that remains at the other half! Its just the way i prefer doing it dont know if thats gonna work for you, but give it a try !!
Tactics is beast. I went to their Portland location a couple times and they were the coolest people so I try to go there since the closest shop to me is a zumies.
If you are setting up a double you should really just get new trucks and skate em out the box without adjustment till they break in and tighten them the same amount , obviously no indicators on the top so you really will not favor a side , it takes a minuet to get used to but , it really makes your mental flow different you just throw down and skate , you stop thinking regular/switch , nolie / fakie , all that just goes out the window , it’s a trip for real, I tried Neen’s twin nose they feel too long the wheelbase is way off , but Ishod’s is making too much sense
My trucks are pretty new I might try switching the bushings but I skated it last night and so far the bushings weren’t a problem and the board was so fun to skate. It really does change the flow it’s just on less thing to worry about kind of freeing.
@TaketheK I N G D O M yeah I loved the real full nose but honestly I think I like the fact that because the board has two tails it won’t get razored as quick and stay feeling fresh longer. For me the pros out weigh the cons especially since with time I think the shape will become second nature
I know a better way to place grip tape just stop cutting it in half and place the way it was meant to oh and you’ll have more time to skate it’s a win win, just my opinion
@@localjoe interesting I never thought about it that way hey to each there own, go ahead an enjoy that forplay with your skateboard 😂😂, hey quick question about the twin tail is it safe to say that the length is somewhere in the middle of a nose and a tail and what about the steepness is it as steep as a regular real board without a twin tail anyways keep the videos coming
@@AlexP-yb7gh haha how did you sexualize a grip job lol I haven't measured the kicks but thats what it feels like to me is the steepness and the length feel like the average of a nose and a tail.
The ocd is strong with this one !
haha pinning this
Twin tail is all I ride for past 8 months or so. Love them.
I don't ever want to go back feels so good!
For the graphic they should’ve had like a mirror effect like the graphic splits on the middle so no matter way u look at it it’s right
that' actually would've been sick
My twinshap ishod board has that
I think this is griptape madness

I’m on my 4th Deluxe twin tail and man they are so good
If I wasn’t doing reviews I think it would be my go to for sure.
I hope the ishod monarch twin tail decks come back my store got some in and it’s been my favorite deck to skate
I almost bought one but now it seems like they are few and far between

There's a few companies that do them it's just kind of a niche thing you have to really look for them.
they do the go to 8.5 buttery

Yeah I like how compact the twin tail is feels amazing
Never put my trucks backward because I always get a groove Mark from crooked grinds on my ledge and I’m like “groove mark that’s my front truck “ 💯🔥
@Local Joe We always like the setup videos! Btw instead of getting new bushings you can sort of 'reset' your current bushings. Just make the trucks very loose and do a few straight up / down ollies.
I’ll have to try that. I just tightened my looser truck and since then they are wearing evenly I haven’t noticed any difference
👀 Seems only the 8.38 release as a slick. And yes, Ishod likes his cars, has some videos posted on IG.
Yeah couldn’t find slicks in 8.25 but I think I like 8.3 better!

does anyone know what colors come with the 8.3 one?
I believe just this color I think the shapes are divided by color but I could be wrong
@@localjoe yeah i thought the same tbh, but i looked at skatedeluxe and it said the background color could be different:/
All you gotta do is get longboard grip, it's like 4 inches too big in every direction leave it intact and you can't miss 😅🤷♂️

Haha already on it my guy
A better way of doing this is doing it ta ta ta today jr. lol

Tape mesure 📏 😂
you put the grip on then cut it
