ok i know you said "id get lambasted" but i have to say. For the last 6 years i've worked security in a high rise building.
and for years i never knew the name of the chairs this office has in mass. And after watching it was the aforementioned "herman & miller" or how ever you spell it. lol
and i have to say yeah it is really comfortable. you never really get ass fatigue or back fatigue. One thing i will say is the recline adjustment knob thing is ass.
it gives you literal rug burn on your palm because you have to turn a knob forward and backward.
after saying all that, yeah 1000$ is steeeeeeep!!!!
id never spend that much, but i agree looks can be deceiving. its is comfortable, im not sure 1000$ of comfort but you never really feel bad uncomfortable, nor do you feel super comfy. its for people that i think.....dont want to think about there chair. i dunno
but for the most part i just had to say something....please dont lambast me, .... i just work here.

Hey man does this chair really fit someone who is 6'5 you are leaning forward but your head looks like its above the chair top.
Does the nice light grey tank the ink from your clothing? This is 400$ so if it gets stained from clothing or doesn't fit its a no go for me.

I recently bought an Omega that either was damaged during setup or possibly came damaged on the padding on the arm rest. I cannot say for sure if I was the culprit or if packaging and shipping was. I contacted support and we exchanged 3 or so emails, including a few photos of the impacted arm. They informed me that a new one would be on the way. To that avail, I can say the experience was good. But it was also a new purchase filing, which tend to get a little better care since its still within that return window. That said, I was pleased with that so you have one more on the list of people who got a good warranty experience.

I bought an Omega early 2019, cost just under 600 AUD shipped. Before it even arrived I felt like I had made a bad decision at that price.
But when it arrived, oh boy. Firm, solid and quiet. The packaging alone was amazing. I fell asleep in it reclined on the third day. My back has never felt better and posture trained itself without me putting any thought into it. I will admit, the side bolsters on the seat seemed a bit too firm in the beginning, but I guess my ass was used to sitting in pillows for years, and after a couple of days I didnt even notice it anymore.
I've used it daily for about 16 or so months now and the leather has not peeled or cracked anywhere. The stitching is still the same as day one. The only damage is on a back corner from me spinning into my desk constantly. and the armrests have loosened up a fair bit due to me using them too much.
Loved it so much I bought my son the Stealth Edition June 2019 which is a revised version of mine with better armrests. Probably going to pick up the Cyberpunk Edition next week, I mean everyone needs multiple SecretLabs chairs right?

    • @johnbuscher7119
      @johnbuscher7119 4 роки тому

Honestly, the only complaint I have with my titan is that it's a little too firm in the seat for me. That's it. It's not mega ergonomic, sitting in it for hours in an unusual desk setup like mine where my desk is abnormally high up so my feet won't touch the ground because I have to raise my chair up to get my arms inline with my keyboard, it's not as comfortable as the Aeron knockoffs at my office. But for looks, general comfort and so-far build quality, it's nice.

They could justify their prices when it was sold to companies via purchasing officer spending company money they didn’t care about. Work from home people even claiming the expense against tax probably balk at the price; their struggling marketing department wants anyone who’s in the market viewing any type of gaming or office chair to be redirected into overpriced plastic and mesh.

Had my Secret Lab Titan Ash since last December 2019. Been going well and the chair is still in good condition. My girlfriend got the Softweave version and also, the chair's condition seems quite good!
I've also bought myself a DXRacer King series back in 2016 and while I love that chair too, the leather is starting to wear now. However, I do find it slightly more comfortable than the Secret Lab Titan. Unfortunately, ever since the mounting of that chair, it makes a lot of bad noise whenever I sit on its lowest level... like, a lot of cracking sounds. The Titan chair from SL is very silent compared to it.
Another plus with the DXRacer King would be the two cushions given with it. One for the neck and another one for the lower back. I find these more comfortable than the Titan's.
Overall, they're both good chairs and I do look forward to see how the Titan will fare in a few years about it's wear and possible tear, compared to the DXRacer King.

Thought I'd chime in here. I have had my PU leather Titan 2020 since January and I did have to deal with customer support. I send them that my backrest was feeling somewhat 'off'. They responded rather quickly and when I provided them with a picture and a video showing some squeaking, like some parts were moving individually they immediately recognized that it was faulty and send me a new backrest for free.
Personally I love the ass rest for it's firmness. Overall it's a good chair. I love the functionality of the 5D armrests (although beware, I've read some comments online that the inner mechanisms are made of plastic so I wonder how they will hold up as time goes by). However, the arm rests, due to the functionality are somewhat wobbly, so if you are a gamer that mostly rests both arms on the armrest this wobbling can get annoying in certain positions.
Keep in mind though like with many things the prize premium you pay does not directly correlate with the quality you get. A 400eu chair is not 4 times as good as an Ikea 100eu chair. Initially this did disappoint me somewhat as I also expected it to be more like a cloud. I have also read a lot of differing claims of things awry, ranging from the tilting mechanism, to the seat part's sagging down to the backrest individual parts shifting up, so keep that in mind.
The +2 years warranty for sharing it on social media is despicable though

    • @MrTsurany
      @MrTsurany 4 роки тому

Most second hand chairs can be fitted with new upholstery. So the entire frame is second-hand, which is fine since that can be cleaned with a damp cloth, while the upholstery, which is more difficult to clean, is brand new.
The frame of those chairs is build to last. I also have a refurbished desk, the frame is older but the top is brand new. And it's the frame that is expensive if you want things like height adjustable.
So usually the comparison is between one of the newer high-end gaming chairs or a refurbished office chair (that is usually 1000 dollars/euro) with new upholstery.

This makes absolutely zero sense. When you're in school, you sit on chairs that hundreds of people have used day in, day out. When you sit in college, same deal. When you sit on a chair in work, half the time it will be a chair that many others have sat on in the past. Same goes for sitting on the bus, sitting in a waiting room, going to a friends house and sitting on their furniture. Hell when you sit on your own damn furniture, other people from your own family have been sitting and farting on it. What about toilets? Every time you use your toilet, someone else from your family or your boyfriend/girlfriend etc. has sat on it and done their business numerous times. Public toilets (which I'm not a fan of myself) are even worse yet you've probably used them. Also any kind of bacteria or virus that could possibly be present will be long dead by the time you get your chair and set it up. If that's not enough, you can steam clean them or use whatever cleaning supplies that are best for the material of the chair. This idea of them being nasty is completely irrational and illogical.

Yo, got my Titan back in September 2018. They've made upgrades since then to this chair from my understanding. The plastic arms of the chair (the one holding the armrests) are wobbly as hell, pretty much in a very very negative way. The soft rubbery parts of the armrests (where the arms lie) is torn on the right one. This was due to fairly heavy use and squishing them to check firmness over a long period of time. Pillow's soft rubber strap is basically done, but I was touching it often as it was satisfyingly soft. Chair itself has no peeling yet, and I am from Texas where my room and outside temps can get pretty high. Almost 2 years of use and only a little bit of cleaning in all this time, it's still looking pretty cool overall. I have the all black PU version.
There is some wear and tear, but the main body of the chair is doing fantastic for the heavy usage I've put it through. I have to agree with most of the things in this review, especially the money part. Unless I landed a job with a solid salary of around $100k USD per/yr, this is about as much as I'm spending on a chair. This is a good chair, not the absolute greatest, but a solid choice in the market where you shouldn't really feel bad about buying.
Definitely one of the more stylish options.

DFKnightmare the reason I said it might of happened itself is down to the environment it’s in. It very rarely touches anything but may have touched up against a soft fabric bed frame when I lean back (something which I’d expect not to cause a mark like that). When I do lean back, I don’t be moving from side to side either. so simply leaning against something like that shouldn’t cause it but maybe it has! So my confusion around the matter was down to that! 👍

Actually, It almost looks like the metal frame had some chips sticking out of it and that caused a bulge in the leather. Took time for it to start showing damage. A good way to test it is to put your finger over it and press on it slightly. If it does not move then it is probably metal causing the problem. If it does move then it is damaged leather that has rubbed up against a wall or something.

After owning my Titan after about 8 months I had\have two issues:
    1. The left armrest would not adjust for height. It didnt lock in place and would just fall to the base setting. This happened right our of the box so I contacted Secretlab support. They wanted pictures and a video of the armrest failing. So after I sent them the evidence they said the armrest was damaged during shipping and sent me two new armrests that took about a week to get to me. Im glad they took care of me so no complaints there.
    2. Now im having issues with loud squeaking when rotating the chair. I have to sit still during meeting calls while I talk or its very distracting to others on the call. Ive tried WD40 and grease but nothing seems to make it quiet again. Im a heavy dude at 270 lbs so im sure that has to do with it but id like to find out what is causing the noise. If i figure it out Ill update my comment. Other than that its been great. I use it 6 days out of the week for 10+ hrs a day.

The firmness of the chair is not what you expected? I think when you point out the science of what will actually save one's back, you can see that what people expect can be exactly what they do NOT need. Nice to find a product that violates expectations by sticking to their expertise and giving you what you need, not what you want. All the same, I'm glad you keep bringing this point up. Managing expectations is an important part of a well-done review, and for those of us who have been doing a LOT of sitting over the last 6 months or so for work and/or pleasure I think this firmness is what we all have needed. I didn't have the quality issue with the fabric that Stu had - this thing arrived flawless and is built like a tank. It is definitely the firmest chair I've owned and way firmer than office chairs. The firmness won't be everybody's cup of tea, but my back and neck love it. I can and have sat in this thing for 16hr stretches. Also, this chair is nearly identical to the Noblechairs Epic. I think the only difference is the seat covering and some cosmetic differences. That said, if I'd had a $1,200 budget, I'd have gone for a Steelcase Leap V2. That chair is on a different level.

For about 90% of the staff they were fine or liked it, however I was in the ~10% who had nothing but issues with them - I could never get comfortable and even with the option lumbar support found it aggravated my back more than the previous cheap office chairs.

This was a brilliant look at the chair. Seeing your initial impressions and a follow up months later was extremely helpful. Thank you! Now I only need to decide between the titan and the omega lol

Good video! How tall are you? Im 1,90m so im a little bit concerned about how well will the chair fit me and my back since I have an older gaming chair that doesnt support my back as expected width wise making me shrink my shoulders when laying back

Even if the PU "leather" 2.0 lasts longer than the previous version, the fact is it's still going to peel eventually with any humidity, I would choose the PU if they covered peeling in Canada but I feel in the long run the soft weave will just last longer than the PU would, wish they had more than 3 colours for the soft weave though, now my decision is between grey, black & D.Va pink. Thanks for the update! Haven't been able to find a wear and tear update on the 2020 softweave.

I was impressed that you can buy parts from them. If you can buy every replacement part including the seat and back it will save tons of money over buying another chair in a few years.

Love the review, I was already deliberating between the Titan and an HM Aeron for home working when I stumbled across your channel. I gotta call you out on the Aeron fanboy criticism though, based on real life experience. I work in an industry where operators sit at consoles for up to 18 hours a shift. The chairs themselves are shared, in constant 24/7 use, and get absolutely abused by the users. Since switching to Aerons about a decade ago nearly everyone has fallen in love with them for the comfort and lack of back pain - in fact our H&S people don't like operators sitting on anything else for long shifts. The office staff get plain old office chairs and finding an "ex ops" Aeron to steal for the office is like gold dust! The "grannies tights" mesh is fantastic at keeping you cool and letting "bodily vapours" dissipate. It's the only chair I'd consider buying second hand as a result, as it doesn't have a stinky foam core to absorb all that yuck. I have no idea how good the 12-year aeron warrany is, but I see plenty of 10+ year old ones floating around in regular use still (you can tell they are older by the different lumbar support).
All of that considered, I'm probably still going to buy a Titan softweave - because I like how it looks and I find the price & colourways of the Aeron a bit stiff for home use. 2nd hand ones are good value but rarely in any colour other than black. I'll still be glad to sit on an Aeron when I get back to work though.

Me and 2 friend bought 3 chairs (2x omega and 1x Titan). I think this all is crying on so high level.
Secret lab is doing a awesome job in all dimension's! I'm so happy about, quality, whole product and support!!!

Really happy to see the results of your experience over the last 9 months with the Titan, because Ive been considering buying one for a while now. My last 3 chairs have all butchered my body from head to toe and quite frankly im TIRED of it! I don't even want to think of what is most likely irreparable damage done to my spine over the years of sitting in bad chairs. However, I do think there will be a Titan in the future for me! Thanks 👍

I still don't get it when people suggest those ergonomic chairs instead of cheaper ones.
Of course ferrari will be better than my fiat punto. Can I afford the ferrari ? No..Can I afford steelcase or herman miller? No
