If anyone is having trouble getting it to work with DS4Windows. What worked for me is:
1. Open DS4Windows
2. Go to Profiles
3. Choose Default Then Go to Edit
4. On the far right go to "Other"
5. Under "Emulated Controller" change it to XBOX 360
6. Then make sure you hit SAVE at the top!

@@JanelVisuals no follow what he says , I’m on ps5 controller and had to change it to emulate a Xbox 360 controller cause it will not let you use a controller till you do so , most simplistic solution that took me days to figure out 😂

mine wont work, i already had old iw4x installed and tried this method (due to old one not working) and when i use launch iw4x it says there are no files for the game

I typed 1 and it gave me an error saying "d3dx9_43.dll was not found" and then it says reinstall the game might fix, I'm confused on what to do, or how to reinstall it, Could you help? I also downloaded the file and it still gives me this error

I actually don’t own a Steam Deck, so i’m not sure how it works. From what I understand though, it should be the same as Steam on desktop. So anything you need help with i’m sure the regular steam tutorials will help you out!

Nope, you can just download all the files from the google drive. Everything you need for 4x is in there. Just make sure you follow the rest of the steps after that part too

Yeah if you chose to download all the bonus stuff it takes a little bit the first time. Worth it though to play on all the servers.

having some issues trying to download the game ive asked around in the iw4x server for help is there any chance u could maybe help me like in discord and i go live and u can just see where its going wrong i really want to play again but im so lost trying to redownload
make sure you add an exclusion for the folder that your games are on.. do add it you have to go in windows security disable all antivirus tabs and scroll all the way down where it says manage scroll all the way down where it says add exclusion if thats not ur issue what is?

Yeah theres a client called Plutonium that you can install. Might have to make a tutorial on that in the future too
where do you actually get the iw4x launcher from i dont have it and i cant put the alterware in cuz i dont have the folder
The Google Drive link has all the files you need, just slap alterware in whatever folder you decide to extract said stuff from that Drive link.

It’s an application file, but you have to use alterware launcher to get the “launch-iw4x” file

i extracted the file but when i view it in file explorer, it just has the same files as the google drive folder and it doesnt look like yours (during the step where you drag alterware into the iw4x folder). it just says camos, languages, etc.

You have to download something to make it compatible. It’ll work with Xbox controller but for PS go find a UA-cam video and find what you need to download for it

For some reason after I uploaded this video that master server IP website got taken down unfortunately. But if you use my download link the favorites folder should have all the trickshotting servers in it

Yeah I have the Brax Package mod Tutorial on my UA-cam aswell! The bots don’t move around, but it’s great for some distant private match shots

It’s always still been around even after the cease and desist from Activison! They basically shut down XLabs, but the iw4x servers are pier to pier, not dedicated. So technically the servers will always stay up as long as the owner of the specific server keeps it up
@@steezehh oh. I'm soo glad to hear that! I was trying to find a way to download it again since i got a new pc. Luckily i had notifications turned on i'm soo happy to know iw4x is still available! 👍
