I know this might be slightly controversial. But in my opinion, Brad Bird is the greatest director of all of the people who directed films for Pixar.
And you’re right partner
@@TheSpectacularRob Thanks. I wasn’t sure if people were going to respond positively to my comment.
Oh totally, he’s one of the best directors, period!
At 13:00 he talks about dash running on water, and just wow, that one insight really made that scene one of the most iconic scenes in any animated movie. People REMEMBER Dash’s chuckle when he realizes he can run on water, it’s such a pure reaction to his moment of victory.
“The action wasn’t enough. It’s how does the character feel about the action? Then action becomes character, which becomes more interesting.”
Moral of the story (or ar least the one I would tell) you don't have to stop enjoying cartoons. If you are allowed to enjoy sports as both a kid and an adult, you should be allowed to enjoy cartoons as both a kid and adult
Amen, pal, I couldn't agree more.
Absolutely
Brad Bird is awesome
He's a genius
His movies some of the best ever.
He sounds so young in his 60's
Yes I absolutely agree. I don’t know if you would agree with me, but in my opinion Brad Bird is the greatest director in the history of Pixar.
After seeing Tomorrowland, I think Brad Bird would be perfect for STAR TREK
One of the best directors in Hollywood today period. Such an impressive visionary who is a complete master of his craft.
I feel so bad for the way “The Iron Giant” was treated
The way brad summarises the incredibles is so clever and makes perfect sense especially considering jack jack saying babys are unknown he has so many powers in incredibles 2 unknown powers that's extremely powerful you genius Brad bird
Jesus, every answer Brad gives flies over this dude's head!
Interviewer breezed over some great talking points.
Brad Bird and I are a lot alike. We both know that animation is not just for children. I am working on an animated film called Plush, which utilizes a lot of kid-friendly elements in an adult fashion. Kids go on fun imaginative adventures with their plush animals, but they also have close intimate relations with them and they hump their plush animals in bed. If Bob Parr was always a Craig T. Nelson-type of character, then Becca Blue in Plush is an Ashleigh Ball-type of character. Her tomboyish voice is sweet, sassy, and very sexy. I knew Plush needed a girl who sounds just like Rainbow Dash. February 26, 2020, 10:02pm
Cartoonists make it their business to watch animation...for research and inspiration.
Cartoonist develop their style by observing life. Studying other animators is only a part of it.
Pixar was founded around the idea of really smart, really talented people trying to make movies that they themselves love.
Hence all their best movies are super-enjoyable for adults.
(It's irrevocably baked into the mission.)
Brad Bird please do a third one! Just so it can be a trilogy!
Thiago Couto just so it can be a TRIGOGY- you mean
Thiago Couto I Agree please do Incredibles 3
He literally said he would never just a sequel just for the sake of doing a sequel.
I actually want to see him make more original movies. And make some older movies that he's wanted to make but never got greenlit because of stupid Hollywood people who think that animation's just for kids
I would like a third The Incredibles, but not just to have a trilogy. I also want The Incredibles 3 so we can have a sequel that does not recycle the plot of the first The Incredibles, tell an original story with superheroes getting re-legalized, and most importantly, bring back *The Underminer!* John Ratzenberger deserves better than 5 minutes of screen time at the beginning of a sequel. Wonderful! Required listening.

So you used this on elastigirl, ayy?
Well for one thing....animated toons are mostly done by grown ups....and requires the chemistry of fine art and sound synchronization.
This is perfect after watching the Oscars saying how animation is just for kids. This aged too damn well.
I'm 14 right know, and still watch the incredibles, and I would suggest to bring 2 more movies from the incredibles. So there are 4 incredible movies!
that would be *_incredible_*
He rocks.
He really does! And he had some amazing stories. Thank you so much for watching!
Throwback to this video
Brad a goat
I'd love to be a voice actor in a Brad Bird film
UA-cam flags Incredibles, Ratatouille and Incredibles 2 as "children's movies" and mark the movies and their clips as "made for kids" Not only is UA-cam wrong, but it directly goes against its director's vision. Animation is not, and never will be a genre no matter the general misconception. Animation directors should have the ability to appeal to whatever audience they desire.
brad, please direct fantastic 4 and make it right for marvel
This guy and Vince Gilligan might be the best ones working today. As well as others I'm not mentioning cause I don't know them or remember.

Brad Bird ideas on what animation is doesn't explain why North America abandoned traditional animation.
That seems to be your go-to argument, isn't it?
Narrow minded coward
What's the matter, kid? Ran out of Bible quotes?
Ecclesiastes 1:14 has warned that the things of this world are "futile, nothing of real value", so people like myself have a right to label animation as a genre.

Your videos have nothing of value.
And your singing is awful
He reminds me of Matthew Broderick

Well if you look closer at elasticgirl then you notice cartoons arent just for kids
Shut up! We don't need dirty sexy obvious jokes like that here.

Cool
Great new insights from the creative giant Brad Bird! While the interviewer had good questions, I found his smug cavalier attitude distracting. Here he's talking to one of the greatest directors of all time, and he carries on as if he is an equal. I've never heard of the guy - there's thousands of people that could ask good questions. A little humility would be good.
Tom Wallerick spot on analysis

please create incredible 3 quickly
There's on other brab birb
But, you keep on making kid cartoons.
Genndy Tartakovsky passed you and left you behind.
None of his stories are exclusively for kids. Both are told from a parents POV and deal with subjects mostly adults relate to. Adult doesn’t automatically mean rated R. Your perspective is undeveloped.
@@timy9197 You do not add any substance to this matter.
An Incredibles series for Netflix, Amazon or Hulu possibly............
What about disney plus 😅
And it’s on Disney+ too
Does Brad Bird realise that he gave the Incredibles family the exact same powers as the Fantastic Four
It doesn’t matter, both of the Incredibles movies are still the best Fantastic Four movies ever made.
His attitude about is basically that every power has already been invented so it’s no point in caring about that part of it.
Incredibles 2 is a contradiction to this interview
this guy does a literal malcolm gladwell impersonation
Im glad someone else noticed
