@silvershield9217 a large problem was that it took several months for the game to release outside of Japan, so all the promotional stuff like the short stories were just not shared/officially translated and left to be obscured by other things like the survival guides.
My recommendation to anyone playing Xenoblade X for the first time is to do learn how Defense and Resistances work. The game never tells you this (because it's extremely poorly tutorialized and many mechanics are horribly conveyed to the player - hope they fixed it in the game), but your character level and Defense stat don't really matter much for combat, especially because there's no accuracy or evasion penalty for level differences like in Xenoblade 1. What really matters are the Elemental Resistances (Physical, Ether, Heat, Lightning, Beam, Gravity from the Japanese version which I play, the US release may have translated those as something else). The resistance numbers you see in the character status screen are percentage based, so a 25 Resistance on Heat means you will take 25% reduced damage from Heat based attacks. Get a Resistance to 100 and you only take 1 point of damage (minimum amount you can take) every time you get hit with that element. If you know what type of damage the enemy can do and equip your team with the appropriate Devices to reduce those specific types of damage, you can win almost any fight at low level, provided you have the accuracy to actually land the hits. Most enemies only have 3 types of elemental attacks, so if you're having trouble with a particular enemy you can just hop on the Wiki (look for xenoserieswiki [dot] com, avoid the Famdom for reasons you should research yourself) and look the spreadsheet of the damaging moves the enemy has. Put Elemental Resistance Devices that counter the most damaging moves and you're golden. Also, some areas in the game have weather effects that damage your party with a particular type of element, such as the fire storms dealing Heat damage to your party in the Black Steal Continent (Cauldros in English). Elemental resistances up to 100% will eliminate the effects of the weather effect in that case. Unfortunately you cannot bump the resistance up beyond 100% and recover HP from that element.
Would be nice if they would add the short stories into XCXDE into the Menu where the Info section is / was. Im really curious now how good the new tutorials will be ... maybe we wont even need a external source like the survival guide anymore. Looking at that is bound to trigger my nostalgia.

My experience with XC1 before X's initial release actually helped me get acclimated to the combat rather quickly, which made adjusting to the new mechanics far easier. Definitely worth playing it if one hasn't already. I was aware of the short stories before, but I hadn't actually taken the time to read them until recently. The story of life on Mira before NLA was fully established almost makes me want there to be some kind of "prequel episode" in game so we can see it firsthand (I specify prequel because I don't think starting the game with this is a good idea).
I was thinking of doing videos on the short stories but I feel like you would do a way better job at reading them then I would. So I would love to see that.

I think the top1 thing to do before X DE is to not expect it to be a straight story end to end like all the other Xenoblade games. I remember me as well as many other people expecting it to be just more Xenoblade 1 when it originally launched only to be disappointed that it wasn't what that game is. While I have come to appreciate what it is, and actually prefer it to the traditional Xenoblade formula now, I foresee that some people will be disappointed if they expect it to be a similar experience, especially after having just played XC DE, 2, and 3, which are relatively homogenous experiences compared to Xenoblade X. This game is way more focused on appealing to the Role Play aspect of role playing games, rather than the strict story-centric approach of most JRPGs. This game places way more importance on worldbuilding through sidequests, I feel like it's one of those games where you want to actually explore as much side content you can before proceeding with the next story chapter. Idk, maybe this game might strike a chord more nowadays with the popularity of stuff like Elden Ring, but I definitely remember this game getting a lot of flack in the past for being different.

you can swim to another continent like spending 30 minutes then to find creatures 70+ above your level and no checkpoints near for quick travel later 😢.
I've never played a Xenoblade game, but I truly enjoyed "Ys VIII lacrimosa of Dana" on Switch. Considering this, would you recommend I pick Xenoblade X?
I would recomend this game or xenoblade 1 or 2 those can be played in whatever order you like but 3 realy is a sequel to this 2 but can also be played stand alone but some story moments get enhanced if you play them by order expetion X is outside this 3 games
I've not yet played YS VIII though I've heard great things about it; I would definitely encourage trying out the xenoblade series. If you are a gameplay first player, feel free to pick up and start with X. It's story doesn't pack quite nearly the punch but it's still a highly enjoyable experience. If you are interested in the main trilogy, I personally would suggest playing chronologically 1->2->3.
Once reading this story those food memes have more meaning its not a gag its a dark humored joke poking fun at how most nopon that where lost in the caravan tatsu family and friends might have not survived in mira the wild life in this planet have these little guys as snacks lets see if xenoblade x2 can conclude tatsu returning to his caravan and family or if this dlc content can at least give closure to him but besides that i did find that mira torres a hispanic sounding name could be mexican because of the usa forces that made it to this planet had a big impact in earth to make civilians and military work togheter to save as much as humanity as posible to trive in the next planet they happen to land honestly im surprised this lore is not in game its realy important if anything to help the set up
Honestly, as 2 and 3 have different combat and more quality of life improvements, I think it would be bad to play those. They'd raise unrealistic expectations.
