- Hello, I've been working on this project for about two weeks now. Although I had to meet a deadline (today), I'm happy with what I was able to do. Overall, Animation takes a very long while, but its worth it! :)
I did a research project on the great locomotive chase (the event) I later played this song in band class, and this is the only video ive seen to incorporate the song and the event. Absolutely astonishing!
We’re playing this for my upcoming school band concert, and my band teacher is going to play this video while we play. It’s muted and we’re playing over the video, we’ve managed to sync up during rehearsals, we just have to make sure we sync up during the actual performance
@@kpop_princess4376status report soldier!

I'm doing this song for a band concert and it's super exciting to see what happened and be able to invision it while I play it for a concert😊

Yessir!
🫡Trumpet Player here.
clarinet, tenor sax, flute, percussion and trumpet player here
Hell yeah!
A PERCUSSIONIST WHO REALLY WANTS TO PLAY THIS PEICE IN BAND IS HERE AS WELL!!
BRO PLEASE READ THIS COMMENT. THE MAN WHO CREATED THIS SONG IS ROBERT SMITH AND HE DIED ABOUT A WEEK AGO. I KNOW THIS BECAUSE MY BAND DIRECTOR HAS PERSONAL TIES TO HIM. RIP TO THE GREAT
My band director also had personal ties. We played this song, and he passed two days before we performed. He told us our performance was to honor him.
We played this song in band with no idea this happened sad
He made Furioso and we played that in 6th
Phenomenal animation! My band concert is tomorrow and we're doing Crazy Train (Yes, THAT Crazy Train), Welcome to The Black Parade and The Great Locomotive Chase. It's gonna be so much fun!
HOLY CRAP! We're doing great locomotive chase, crazy train, and highland legend! What a coincidence
crazy train is a great song, its on my school band's pep band playlist and the trombones (me) get that iconic guitar melody *and* the chorus!
now we're gonna play great locomotive chase at our upcoming concert, along with our band contest music from this year (we got 4th for 1A/2A school bands)
Thank your for clarifying that uts THAT crazy train, yall are lucky
Crazy train is so fun to learn 😭😭😭
This is a very *Train*ed band concert I see
(k that was fucking terrible I'm sorry)
As an animator myself as well as the percussionist who played the snare drum for this song at my own school’s spring band concert earlier this year, I’d just like to say phenomenal job. I absolutely love your interpretation of the song’s story and have now been inspired to make my own version as well! Keep up the amazing work 😁
DUDE!! I was snare and high hat too lol. Really fun
snare gang 🤟
I played Bass Clarinet for this last night for my band. You definitely captured the feeling of this piece beautifully.
I play trombone and im gonna play this next wednesday, im gonna have so much fun with those glissandos, PLUS the *melody* which trombones NEVER have!!! 😈

This is freaking sick! I actually love this. We’re playing this piece for our concert. I’m a horn player so I’m pretty hypes
I played this earlier this year on snare. One of my favorite songs ever
3:22 is literally THE BEST PART OF THE WHOLE SONG. THATS WHY TROMBONES ARE THE GOAT
bet your a brass player xD but yeah that is a really good part
As a trombone, thank you
As a tenor sax playing that part, I agree
The trombones in my hand fuck this part up
as a flutist i have to agree that part is fire
Amazing animation, interesting story, what’s not to love? Incredible 👍🏻👍🏻 (can’t wait to play this song for my concert)
our band teacher showed us this in class since we’re playing it for our spring concert and I just wanted to say that the animation was spectacular!
That was fucking epic, please do El Pato Loco next
The General: *stops at the end of the bridge*
The General: now what do we do?? we're trapped here!!
Jokes aside, phenomenal animation.
we balance our way back. ditch the train
It’s super nice to see an animation of something that has happened in my local area! (I live in Gordon County)
this is amazing! not only is it using one of my favorite concert band pieces, but your animation skills are absolutely fantastic!
Wauw great video. We (an amateur band) are going to play the tune. Can we show your video on our concert?
Sure, hope it helps
one of my favorite concert band songs + a sick af animation = MASTERPIECE
Song: Pick a note.
Me about to play the loudest low note I’ve ever played on my trumpet with my tuba buddies: *”I have power I should not be trusted with.”*
Edit: If you don’t get it, on the sheet music there are two or more whole notes that say “Pick a note” so you can play litterally any note you want to.
I got a solo for both French horn parts! Ima hope I don’t mess up at the concert😅
bro this is fucking lit
Bruh the chimes part goes crazy during the speed change
i literally love this animation so bad.
This was so great! The video really describes what's happening in the music itself! Great job! :)
My band teacher showed us this in class because the 7th & 8th graders played it at our recent concert (last night) and we all loved it! amazing job!
This is so amazing! I just played one of these songs so this brought a smile to my face
I’m doing this piece in band for a concert it sounds amazing
The flutes in my class sound amazing as well. Just like the ones on this video
And the baritone
saddening to know the event in real life had a bad ending
What was the bad ending
@@6am1ng4L1f3 the union guys got captured and lynched by the confederates :(
Please do one for the great steamboat race
2:00 is the best part of the song and the animation to this is so good, it really goes perfect to the beat great job!
I recently played this as the snare player and by no means is it a hard piece but it is so fun lol, highly recommend it as percussion love it
As someone who is currently playing this song in band my lungs hurt
R.I.P The legend, Robert W. Smith
My band teacher shows this all the time in class, this animation is amazing I love ur style, keep aniamting!
I auditioned for music city drum corps in 2018 (didn’t make it in lol) but I got to be taught music by him, and also shake his hand, and he was a great guy.
Of course the show that year was train themed. 😂 guy likes trains
We played this for our spring concert and all the seniors were so happy that they ended with this song
2:06 goated part from a 2nd clarinet
The mallets literally play the same thing
Just played this in our concert and this animation is so cool! I would've never seen this coolness without playing this in band!
The animation was really cool. I played this in band and it was a blast!
Words cannot describe how much I love this animation
My band played zooveneers (how ever you spell it) journey through the void and the great locomotives chase I played timpani for this song
This is one of my favorite pieces, and this is the only video I have ever seen that not only makes an amazing animation but also incorporate the scene accurately. Very nice job.
Fairly accurately
As a euphonium player (the best instrument) this is amazing you captured the feeling of this song perfectly
@God-vg4um BROTHER!!!!
Genuinely great, the sense of anticipation near the beginning is fantastic
My Great Great Uncle William Pittenger was one of those Union heroes!
At the time the general had three cars behind all three of them had gunpowder
i played this song in band class and did fo rthe conert this is amazeing god i love this
Been a listener to RWS for a long time, but I never saw this masterpiece till today! I really love how you animated some parts in sync to the beat, like the part at 1:29 when the stones were hurled, it matches that bass clar and tuba part lol. Could I ask what app you used to create this project? I'm interested af now!!!
I love this animation but there was only one guy chasing the train not two
Wait this was actually fire, great animation 🚂🔥🔥
you may never see this, but i reccomend animating into the storm by robert w. smith
I MISS ROBERT W SMITH SO HE COULD MAKE BANGERS LIKE THIS
I'm playing this in band, and this is a perfect animation of it. Great Job!
Keep up the great work. Love the art style :D
Honestly one of the greatest animation I've ever seen
Good job bro amazing
Just played this in my wasbf concert
I'm playing this in my band
great animation love it
come back pls
Wow, cool
AMAZING
HOW DO YOU ONLY HAVE 30 SUBSCRIBERS?!!!
That was glorious! Thank you for sharing your talent!
That’s not how trains work
yes let’s just judge how they worked the trained rather than admiring an actual animation
Really fantastic piece! It is shown so beautifully and I love the vehicles and characters moving on beat!! This is excellent and I hope you can become even better as an animator.
Not historically accurate but cool animation. The Texas chased the General in reverse and neither fell off a bridge. The Texas caught the General after the General ran out of wood and the raiders abandoned the locomotive. They were captured and tried. Several were executed, 6 made a daring escape from an Atlanta prison and 6 were eventually released in a prisoner exchange and were the first recipients of the Medal of Honor
Uhm, correction, early 4-4-0s were wood fired, not coal fired.
I'm playing this at band right now, I'm so happy to have seen this in my recommended videos!
What did you use to animate?
I used Tahoma2D
2:28 as a French Horn player this solo is so fun to play and sounds amazing
The meaning of this song is something not many know but the ending is nice but the animation is not really relating to the song
Im pretty sure you animated the exact thing that goes on in my mind when I play/listen to this song. Realy good job
1:30 The tenor sax solo here is amazing it’s just such a vibe
Great animation! Playing this in school rn (i play mallets and cymbal)
If you know the story behind it I am from the town were it happened
IM PLAYING THIS ON THE 19TH OF THIS THIS MONTH?!?!
Some film company needs to hire you
Can believe i played this intermediate band in 7th grade
fun fact: the “haaa” at the end is made by our mouths
In the animation during 111 i like the animation of it.
i’m playing this in disney, i love this animation
I’m actually going to be playing this for my concert in like two days great job and this history of the thing is accurate and I love the animation keep up the work
Wow this is amazing! It shouldn’t be possible that this video doesn’t have more likes and views.
I love the saxophone part in this
