    Hi Mary,
    If you're still dealing with an ileus (paralyzed intestine/small bowel), you might have an obstruction. That would explain the stomach pain and vomiting - the whole thing could be made worse by your feeds.
    I had that happen after spinal and abdominal surgery. It's pretty common.
    Hope you feel better soon!

      I thought she seemed a little rude and sarcastic but maybe she just wasn't feeling good. UA-camrs have bad days too. She hasn't seemed like the "old Mary" since her surgery. Maybe once they get the pain and vomiting under control she will feel better again 👍🏻 (hopefully) 💜

    So I must have missed something a bunch of comments about Mary being cranky and such. Would not want those people to see me when I'm my above " normal" amount of pain or discomfort. They would think I was a monster. I wish I could be more like Mary everyday. I try my best but some days there is no way I've found yet not to unintentionally lash out. Especially when everything acts out at once and nothing is helping.

  • @dontmindme9097

    mary/anyone else, do you have a hard time differentiating between your chronic illness symptoms and when you actually have an extra something/infection of some sort? The symptoms I have make it hard to tell if I'm "normal' sick or coming down with something :/

    • @darkbluematter1753
      @darkbluematter1753 7 років тому +4

      Don't mind Me I do. Hard to tell if I have food poisoning, a stomach bug, or it's just my "normal" issues. Have gone to the doc and been told there is nothing they can do too many times so now I try to wait until I get a fever above 100, am very dehydrated, and/or am in immobilizing pain--all of which luckily happen rarely.

    • @dontmindme9097

      @2listening1 7 років тому +4

      Yes that is so true for lots of people. Even a simple thing like having allergies made me unable to tell if I was getting a cold. And I know from lots of other people that it's hard to tell normal and "worser" post-surgical pain apart.

    Hope you are feeling better! I have had ileus before and it gets to the point where if your intestines aren't moving food, it can't leave your body so it backs up and you end up throwing up. I throw up until the ileus resolves itself. So so painful. Praying that this isn't the case for you. I almost had a bowel perforation because of the ileus. Also miserable.

    • @tomhohn8161

      I had the same situation. Following major abdominal surgery I went home and a few days days later developed one. Symptoms were extreme pain, weakness, and projectile vomiting. So bad had to have ambulance because we didn't know what was wrong. This also happened a second time a few weeks later. But the treatment was NO FOOD or LIQUIDS by mouth. NJ tube for many days until the doctors heard bowel sounds through the abdomen, then clear liquids and so forth. CT scan confirmed the diagnosis. It took a month to get the SMO straightened out. It was a terrible experience.

    Mary, I spent almost 20 years of my life working for a printing company who specialized in printing for the miniature folding industry... in other words, I typeset & proofread those pharmaceutical inserts you get with your medications.
    Believe me, some days proofing those inserts made you doze off, go cross-eyed... or slightly over the edge, & certainly needing new eyeglasses because the print was so small.

    Mary have your doctor's tried you on a medication called Carafate for your Gastroparsis? it comes in tablets and liquid form. I had a hard time with the tablets but the liquid form I have had no problems with. It helps coat your stomach and makes it easier for good to stay down as well as laying on your left side for about an hour after you eat cause it uses gravity to push the food from the stomach into the intestines

    • @sarahperrin5980
      @sarahperrin5980 7 років тому

    • @sincitygurl28

      Sarah Perrin I use it 30mins before each meal if needed before bedtime as well. I take one gram I'm not sure but I think maybe the recommended dose but I will give for one the liquid smells nice like bubble gum or something but it taste like chalk list with Bubblegum but it really does help as well as laying on your left side to help move food through how are you stomach and through the intestines.

    Different formula's can effect and agree and disagree with different people; and actually even at different times in your life. My daughter's first go around we had to try several different formula's until they found one that did not cause upsetment - and it was not just the formula alone but when it was given, what rate it was given at and at what times. It was not, at least for her, just a simple pick a formula and take it situation. Once we finally found one that worked for her and had amounts and rates and times all situated so that it did not adversely effect her she did well for some time and then all of a sudden started having issues out of the blue. Initially we tried adjust amounts and times and rates and eventually had to switch formulas. Her doctors told us that sometimes the body changes and this is its way of telling you it needs something different or had to much of one thing. Since she skips part of her digestive track that would handle things a certain way or just let her know it was not interested we have to pay attention to issues like vomiting. Its also not a 'quick fix' to find the right formula/rate/time/amount and so on because those are all different parts and you have to change one thing at a time to see if it helps or not. I think the first go around it took us close to 6 months before she was really stable on her feeding.

    Does Peter have any other duties with his church beside Sunday service and Bible study ? I never hear of him consoling or visiting the sick, so
    I was just curious as to his duties. He does seem to have an abundance of time to devote to you which is most uncommon in marriages where one spouse works and provides financial support for the chronically ill spouse. It is a blessing that Peter you can do so. As always, I will see you tomorrow. G'nite. ❤️

    You guys are just wonderful! I've been dealing with a lot of my own health problems lately and seeing you guys deal with everything has been so helpful for my fiancee and I. We love your vlogs and love keeping up on the new Frey life happenings. Keep up the great work. PS, I've been to the er twice in the past 3 days. It's not a fun place but I've just been as pleasant as possible and it really brightened up the staff's nights. By the second night I had made so many friends! So if you do have to go to the er maybe it's just because some nurses need some Frey life cheer. That's a rough job, so if you do have to go to the er, use it as an opportunity to brighten up their day. Although you're so sweet you will anyway haha Keep up the good work, we're rooting for you!

    Food looked lovely, you should try coke wings. Loads of soft brown sugar and garlic salt in a roasting tin, add chicken wings and cover with coke. Cook on low for few hours and turn every 20 mins. Remove half of coke and let cook for a while longer till it goes sticky. Very yummy. Xxx

    Hi. Mary, I really hope and pray that you will be feeling better soon. I hope that your feeds go well and that it gives you great nourishment that you need.
    If you have time...I have a prayer request...my married 37 year old daughter (has two kids) just found a breast lump today and had a mammo and biopsy today too. Results in two days. Please dear God, I beg of you, let this lump be nothing. Please oh please, I pray.

    Hi, this may be a weird question and may not be my place to ask. But I am looking to get a service dog in the near future and I just love Ollie and his training seems very good. I do not have cystic fibrosis, but I do have problems with my breathing and ability to stand or travel long distances (I got an infection when I was younger and it weakened my immune system so much that I am almost never healthy {I have been sick, consistently, since beginning of December, I caught chicken pox and it has been real bad since then} so it causes issues with my breathing and energy) as well as I have mental health problems. I was wondering, the women, who I believe you have said is a friend of yours, did she train him as a friend for a friend thing? Or does she train dogs for a living? I am, honestly, not trying to be rude. I have just been looking into getting a service dog for a bit now (it will not be for another few months) and I do not want to have to wait on the crazy waiting list. I would rather have a dog and have them trained. And it is not easy to find a good place to do it. I was just wondering if she trains other dogs as well?
    Also, side note. I have been up in the air about what breed I want, I have looked through a lot. But I absolutely LOVE Oliver. Obviously, you love him and he does perfect for you and watching you guys has added a standard poodle to the list of breeds, but I was wondering if there were any other breeds you considered before choosing a standard poodle?

    Miss Mary, I wonder if the lazy intestine is stopping your formula from going through and it backed up into your tummy and you threw it up. I am NOT a Dr. but you know how your people like to try and diagnose your issues.

    I have Crohn's disease and I've gotten several feeding tubes during hospital visits. I found that if the rate that the formula was going in at was too high, I would always throw up. Even if it's at the "normal" rate, it ends up being too high for me and I have to go at a much slower rate or I will throw it up. I don't know how your's works but if you are able to adjust the rate, it could be worth a try.

    I love so much how you guys are constantly supporting each other and reminding each other how amazing the other is. I think it's so important to tell people they are appreciated and it's so nice to see it in action with you two, even when things aren't the greatest, you guys still have such beautiful love and appreciation for each other! Keep being amazing you two:)

    I really hope you get the feeds going again. Seems like this always happens. Try a different formula. Go easy on the processed foods. Less refined sugar and more natural foods.
