at the beginning I didnt hear the difference between open tone and slap. thank you for this nice vid. I like how you sang the triplet rythm and the double open at the end, it shows room for personnal feeling :)
Hey folks, percussion is an open system. On which instrument you play grooves is not really important. It must groove. My teacher Steve Boston in Arnhem teached me it's not about rhythm it's about melody. Michael I love your lessons.
hi, michael! i live in recife and gennerally people here don't play maracatu with timbau. People play with alfaia drums. and it's not a critical, i love your videos! :)
Grheia Thank you, Grheia, I know it is played with alfaia's, caixa and gongue ect. When I met Tarcisio in Recife, he and his students showed me this way on timbau. And I liked it, so I thought I will share it with everybody. Good luck!
Happy Holidays to you too! Here is a link to tumba from the Dutch Antilles: ua-cam.com/video/PfoquSzKF38/v-deo.html And: ua-cam.com/video/LgNg30puMpU/v-deo.html
