Des, great to have you back. Missed you. Love the real world tips, no glamour lodges, float planes and million dollar rods.. Your pond strategies gave me validation on my beach fly fishing origin story. Thanks for the great content.

Heck yeah! Thank you so much for the good vibes! We are all out here just living our lives. Fly fishing isn’t just for the fancy and rich. I’m over here tying dryer lint to a hook to see if I can catch fish! Hopefully I have got some steam for some more down to earth videos! If you think of something you want to see let me know!

Love your videos. ❤. That’s all I do in Lutz Fl is fishing Largemouth on a 7wt and is really fun. I believe the biggest problem for new learners casting is understanding a tight loop and giving the back cast time to unfold. It’s not splitting atoms but there is a few things that will make you a great caster. If your ever in my area , we can fish the ponds around here. We love the same sport. Also are you ever interested in making 12 bass bugs for a fellow. Perhaps too time consuming. Thank you Das. Cory.

Hey! I’m over in Westly chapel, so I’m right around the corner! Yeah, I agree on a tight loop. And it is easy to try to push it instead of letting it unfold. What kind of bugs are you looking for?! What size?!

I have been using the 7 wt still. I can go back to the 5 but the 7 has grown on me.

I go cheap! Piscifun Sword Fly Fishing Rod 4 Piece, 9ft Graphite and IM7 Carbon Fiber Blank Fly Rod, Chromed Guide and Durable Fishing Rod, 4/5/6/7/9wt a.co/d/d1XzmXd

Yes. That is a very cheap rod. But if it’s working for ya. I spend the most money on the line. Then the rod and then the reel. My setup is AirFlo gulf redfish line then the Lamson cobalt 8wt and a Lamson liquid 3 pack like you have. 6-7-8 in smoke color. I really believe in good quality lines. Makes a difference for me. The rod as much as you can afford and the reel. Well it’s only a line holder. Thanks.

I agree! The cheap rod is just what I stuck with and it has worked. I went all out on my line and leader. I feel like that is the most important. I’m sure I will grow into a better rod eventually, but for right now it gets the fly out there. What do you think of airflo? I keep looking at them but I always end up going with a scientific or a rio.
