Hey! Thanks for watching and commenting!!! I didn’t have a good second anchor then and was just relying on an 8 lb mushroom that I was afraid would float away in the current. So I beached it so I didn’t panic and could sleep. It ended up being a real mess digging it out in the morning :D. Now that I have two anchors I usually moore the boat off of the south side of the island in the cove closer to the west coast. It has a shallower spot there. The snook like to spawn there in the summer so it makes it fun. Weekends are a mess so plan a weekday camping trip. Late summer overnight showers can be scary with the lightning but it is such a great place to camp. Don’t forget to register with the park (6$). I haven’t been out since the hurricane. There are only two ramps open at the launch. Dunedin islands are another good place to camp but the causeway is closed to launching so it is harder to get out for me. Do you know an open launch up that way? Feel free to email me and we can compare schedules for gheenoe things! I’m trying to avoid E. coli and red tide!

Heck yeah!

The low pressure always gets the bass going so I love going out. The wind makes it a fun challenge. Things are good. We finally got power back. We are good without power for quite a while but it’s nice that it’s back.

How is the boat handling the weight of the newer motors? I just picked up a 76’ and plan on putting a 9.9 but might go with a 6 horse bc I’m scared of the weight being too much for the transom

@blakewallace8286 it seems to be doing great. I was really worried but I haven’t seen any issues. I was tempted to do a 2 stroke (because of the weight) instead but I’m glad right now I did the 4 stroke. I did put extra fiber glass on the transom though so I am hopeful I will continue to be fine.

You are absolutely right! But, when you get higher than 70+ CFU/MPN per 100 mL enterococci per sample it isn’t safe to swim in. And if it gets in your eyes, nose, mouth, urinary tract, or vagina it is pretty close to saying you are rubbing poop in those places….. not the memory I want from my beach outing :)

Hahaha! It runs great! I’m still getting all the kinks out and figuring out the weight change. I have to put in a bilge pump next. The 4 hp let it ride so high I never had to worry about water splashing over the back. But with the 30 extra pounds and all the splashing this thing does it is time. I went from going 6 mph to going 14. I’m in heaven.

@shorelinefilms you should! I picked up a black drum, small snook, trout, and some snappers. I took the drum and snapper home for dinner.
