    Agree with you on everything! I would add: always turn your jeans inside out and always zip up all the zippers on your jeans, jackets, hoodies, etc before throwing them into the washer. Also, use laundry bags to wash delicates, like underwear or silky tops, or things that can stretch too much during the washing and spinning cycles. Finally, I only use the dryer for towels, linens and stuff that I don’t care that much about, everything else goes on hangers. It’s the only way to make your clothing last more than a couple years!!

    I hang most of my clothes, bags, scarfs, hats, belts, etc, because I like to see all my clothes and accessories at one sight, otherwise I will forget them if they are put away in a bin or on shelves. I bought 50 shoulderhangers and 12 bottom hangers, and that is my limited numbers of clothes (ceremony dresses, casual wear, work wear and sports wear) for that season. I will stop buying clothes when all hangers are full, if I really want to get one item, then one item in the closet has to go out. I am not addicted to fast fashion, so it is easy for me to stop buying clothes, and it is also a very relaxing way to organize my closet.

      You can use the KonMari method for folding and you will still be able to see everything

    I do the same way with laundry, separate them for washing and hang dry them as much as possible. I also dont wash the clothes when it is not needed to be washed.

    💕These are all great tips and help clothes last much longer. I have a rack in my bedroom for previously-worn clothes (without washing yet). I like everything in my main wardrobe to be immaculate and ready-to-go (laundered and steamed or ironed), so I like to separate items that I only wore for a short errand, etc. I often wear them around the house the next day, before putting them in the laudry. This is especially useful nowadays, during the pandemic, because instead of doing an errand then staying out to eat, wander around the malls, etc., I just do essential errands, then return straight home.

    I always tend to choose “dry clean only” really need to start looking at care instructions before buying

    notes 4 self:
    1. separate
    2. hang to dry
    3. wait to wash unless it needs washing (obviously wash underwear always)
    4. storage (hang what you don't want wrinkled, hanging bulky things can stretch the fabric, don't jam pack the closet)
    5. steamers keep things clean and nice

    I hang clothes outside to air out between washes. Or putting clothes in freezer kills odours. Also, knits need to dry flat to avoid stretching out.

    I steam knits, like t-shirts, tops, sweaters and knit pants - if they need it. Hanging things up to dry instead of using the tumble dryer helps reduce the need for steaming. I also wear a lot of woven cotton, linen and silk (mild climate), and I always iron these items. I don’t mind ironing that much, I think it can be relaxing, so long as I don’t get overheated. I do my ironing in batches so that I don’t have to do it last-minute, which works better anyway if the items completely dry and cool before putting them away. I just put some music on and work my way through about a half-dozen items or so at a time, no biggie. I never starch or steam-iron, I use a water-spray bottle, if needed, and Magic Sizing if I want a crisp look. I think ironing, when necessary, really adds a lot of polish to my outfits. I always tell people who really despise ironing to try turning on a fan or air conditioner; I once thought I hated it, but it was just that I always got unpleasantly hot.

    I'm just like you I don't wash after every wear. What I do do is hang the item on a hanger spray my clothes with a lavender zoflora (watered down accordingly in a fine mist bottle) hang it on the curtain pole until it's drys then hang it back in my wardrobe this way it keeps it smelling nice and fresh x x

    Hey Erin, I basically do all the same things with the most of my clothes. I also use a lingerie bag for my delicates just to keep them in good condition. Great video again......as usual!!

    The dryer is definitely bad for the clothes but I don't have the space to hang all my clothes which is sad. I use to take some delicate clothing to Dry cleaning but it was way too expensive and sometimes the result was bad. Checking the care instructions is so important. Nice video! I loved your blouse! Black and flowers are definitely my style!

      I agree! I've ruined 2 things I've had because I accidentally tossed them in the dryer and I was so sad after lol :( Not sure if you live somewhere with stairs in your home, but I used to hang items over the railing to dry!

    I was never taught how to do laundry correctly.. it was always ‘fill the machine with what ever and don’t waste water’ ... I’m just learning now to wash white alone as I’ve noticed how my white loss their brightness and figured out it was from incorrect washing with dark colours :(

    Great video Erin! Have you ever done a 50 facts about me? Or if you can't think of that many facts, then at least a q&a or a little known facts video? I'm curious to know what languages you speak, if you or Kyle would get any pets, and other random facts like that. Hope that's not too nosy of me haha, I just find them so addicting to watch. I think they share a similar aspect to what's in my bag videos, giving viewers some insight of your background (or handbag). ❤️

    Omg YES! I’ve been meaning to ask you for a video like this! When you use the steamer, do you have to wait to wear the item after steaming it or can you wear it right away?

    • @byerinelizabeth
      @byerinelizabeth  6 років тому

      I wear right away!

    • @kimberlyperrotis8962
      @kimberlyperrotis8962 3 роки тому

      It’s better to let it dry completely, then it won’t rewrinkle right away. I just turn on my fan for 10-15 minutes, that’s all it takes.

      Bulkier things I like to keep together and put less of them in ( if that makes sense lol ) and our washing machines have a setting for 'bulky' loads so I always make sure to hit that!

    Steamer>>> iron. I've burned some of my fav. Tops while ironing🤦 lol
    I like to use a fabric conditioner/softener while doing my laundry(in the last rinse cycle). It makes my clothes smell good and keep colours intact as well. :)

      Stefani Kay I hope you were nice to your mother-in-law about the iron. She is a different generation, and that's how we took care of our clothes. Remember, sweetie, some day your going to be a mother-in- law someday! 😉

    • @eyecandiiz
      @eyecandiiz 6 років тому +1

      Susan Mulvey yeah... she was kinda upset when I told her that I wouldn't iron her son's tshirts. Sorry I'm not home all day / have the time to do that. I have a steamer so I don't mind steaming his dress shirts. She literally irons everything. But then again. It's that generation like you said.

    • @susanmulvey6311
      @susanmulvey6311 6 років тому

      Stefani Kay Its hard being a mother-in- law! They say a son's a son until he takes a wife, a daughter's a daughter the rest of your life!! Hahaha And I know as I have two sons. But now I have two granddaughters, so it always equals out. Ask your mother-in-law advice about something, doesn't have to be important, not about husband, but like a home decor thing, and she will love you forever. ( Oh, and take the advice LOL) Nice talking with you, take care!

    • @eyecandiiz
      @eyecandiiz 6 років тому +1

      Susan Mulvey oh yes. I cook traditional receipes with her every Sunday. She's alone so we have to stick together. I'm not here "stealing her son away". I try to make her feel important and included. 👩‍👧‍👦
