If you don't know Gamefreak has 2 teams who work on games simultaneously and BDSP was outsourced to ILCA so the other team has been working on Gen 9 since as recent as after SwSh DLC or maybe even before. So... this gonna be good.

This just makes me think back to how charming the limited 3D was in Black and White.
They added Donald Duck to Pokemon, excited to play with him! Hopefully his signature move "crippling debt" it gets at its final evolution is viable for competitive, but I believe he wont be banned to ubers once the competitive meta starts to form.
His ability is "-IQ"
It instantly deletes any item you give to him and he only has 1 PP for all his moves
Basically it works exactly like KH1 teammate AI
To be fair, he'd be banned anyway for being the strongest magic user in Final Fantasy canon

just off my mixed experience on Poke SW/SH im not going to buy gen9 unless i LOVE the pokemon. me buying this is 95% dependent on spriggato's final evo
@@kaiyote7924 Knowing that the region is bassed off Spain, Sprigato's final evo might be a Iberian lynx, which is an endangered species from this zone. I'm from Spain and that's the first typical animal that comes to my mind when I think about endemic animals that live here
@@kaiyote7924 Fair enough I'm not really worried about it being bad sense I like most of the new Pokémon games aside from maybe Lets Go Pikachu and Eevee I just don't want Pokémon to become a series that makes new mainline games every year.
I mean, this is the first Pokemon game made by Game Freaks lead team since Sword and Shield. Legends Arceus was made by a secondary team, and BDSP was outsourced to a different studio. so it will have been about 3 years since SW/SH by the time these games are out
@@PeterGriffin11 late 2022 will be three years since the last mainline game homes. The team making this had nothing to do with legends or the gen 4 remakes

I really hope this gen doesn't flop because it looks like we're finally getting a jump in quality that other big series have made years ago 😭🙏 also hope gamefreak finally break free of the 3 year game schedule if it's a success because they can't survive on it now
please tell me you're kidding. you can't seriously think this. Can't survive on what. having a schedule? having a timeline and a few years for a game to be developed? do you think other studios don't operate on game schedules for development either? games don't just come out finished, they need time to be made. that's what the three years cycle is all about! making the game and giving the staff enough time to make them! if you want a jump in quality you need to have more people on a game, or more time to make it. not less time. for goodness sake. the three year cycle was about making pokemon games to a certain standard of quality, and (presumably) allowing the staff to work on a normal, reasonable for human beings schedule.
also, you're kidding if you think pokemon somehow "can't survive" on that schedule. pokemon is one of the highest grossing media franchises of all time. the pokemon games are selling in the thousands or hundreds of thousands, or even millions. pokemon has never been more successful, financially. and pokemon is probably already no longer working on that schedule, as evidenced by how many damn games they've been making since sword and shield. since before that when all of the gen 7 games and lets go were coming out.
if you think a faster development cycle makes for better pokemon games then I'm afraid you're going to be disappointed.

I think they meant that they want gamefreak to break from their 3 year a gen cycle so that they make new games when they're ready and well polished as opposed to trying to cram games in for holiday sales every year. Older pokemon games actually had around 100 more days of development (dont quote me on that 100, I just know that's the ballpark) between mainline releases than the newer games

Unfortunately, I think they have to coordinate with the anime and the merchandising so that they all release at around close to the same time. Ideally they'd be willing to hold off on the anime/merch to let the game development breathe. But Pokemon's so big now that the games are only a single piece of the whole pie, so it's not the end of the world if the game is a little rushed. In fact I bet that might be why some of the gens kept doing third versions. But that's speculation at best.
Not saying that they don't or won't try their best, just that they probably can't get out of this schedule.

It’s been 3 years since SWSH and they had a different company so the remake. Why are people surprised that a Gen 9 is being announced? It’s coming out late this year probably around Christmas so that means they’ll have been working on it for damn near four years at most, three at the least.
Because we literally just got 2 other mainline Pokémon games lmao
BDSP was handled by a different studio, but Legends Arceus was handled by Gamefreak directly. So it feels kind of crazy how fast they were working.
@@Saltydkdan fair enough I guess. They could give at least some time for Arceus to sit in peoples minds before releasing the new one. It’d also give them an excuse to hold off and work on it more. It does look pretty good right off the bat from the initial trailer so that fills me with confidence at least.

@@bubalackgaming8892 yeah they double up on games to keep up with yearly releases. Spin off games made by other companies are as much of a padding for time as they are actual products. Honestly releasing a game every year is not a sustainable strategy especially when the gaming technology is getting more complicated.
