Now that was a two wheels big life video! Got to see you guys in your house and on the road. Felt like I was there with you again instead of just watching you ride. And the cooking! Made me get up out of my chair and make dinner when it was over. Can't wait for Arizona!!
Now, this is one of the prettiest rides I've seen in Texas, and I'm actually a Texan native. It looks like I missed something along the way. Great going!
You're not the only one. I live in Alpine (not far from the gas station they started this video with!) and I worked at Lajitas Golf Resort down at the border..and I heard people say "I've lived in Texas my entire life and never knew this was here!" more than once from the guests checking in. I think..this is the best part of the state..and the best kept secret! 😊
Now that’s a TWBL video that hits the spot, a nice run on the bikes a bit of history and a border crossing to what looked like a nice little town and some scran (food) to end the day.
Another great video, A few things you will have to visit on a return trip. In Fort Davis the Drug store on the main drag you drove by is an awesome old Soda fountain diner with killer milkshakes, The Observatory road is the Highest paved road in state of Texas. The Paisano Baptist encampment is pretty cool to explore from the 1920s. Also in Del Rio stop by a Chicos Tacos for a real food treat sometime. I so laughed when you said Chopping Broccoli :) : ). I need to ride up to that c State park and camp and a few other places on that area, Thanks again
Both the BMWs have problems after they are laid over, That sure seem pathetic that a duel sport is that fragile. The Harley didn't treat you too well ether. You two are good testers...I know what brands I don't want! Thanks for Posting!
🤣Das ist der Preis, den man zahlt, um einen bayerischen Traktor zu fahren😝, my 2000 Transalp biggest expense: new seat cover (worn out after 22 years of Trouble free service) No superfluous technology, wright side up shocks with old Skool dust covers, no fuel pump or einspritzung problems. A bicycle mechanic in any small town can fix it. Don't buy a heavy, overpriced, oil leaking, complicated Bavarian Behemoth. 😜🇳🇱NL.
@California_Miner Buenos días, if you like Noraly check out Pedro Mota (dutch-portugese), he Travels the world on an even older Transalp. Disfruta viendo, amigo.
Hey ya. The first thing I always do when a shock is leaking is to validate that it’s simply not dirt caught in the seal. Often that’s the case and not a damaged seal. A thin piece of plastic cut in the shape of small knife from a lettuce carton - work between the seal and fork and at an angle drive it around the circumference to work any dirt out. It can be the penny tech cure.
I’m so happy you made it to Alpine area. We lived between Fort Davis and Marfa. For 10 years ams loved the area. Also like Hueca Tanks. Too bad MacDonald Observatory was closed because it is great. Thank you for a great video!
Great videos! Been watching a couple years. Seems you guys would be much happier with smaller more reliable bikes. I'd be looting at the Tenere 700s. Pretty sure the Lighter weight and no need to carry a diagnostic system around with you would make life more enjoyable and less expensive.
My grandfather was an ol' wildcat oil driller in West Texas (some of it around Langtree, I think while Judge Bean was there) and he talked about sometimes sitting in the saloon while Poncho Villa came to town and said Villa always just sat around the saloon getting drunk while his men stole everything in town that wasn't nailed down and some that was. He didn't have much good to say about him just that he was a drunkard and scroundle.
I had read that the US was allowing the Mexican army to cross and use the railways to get ahead of Pancho, that made him consider the US fair game. Also, that what finally defeated his army was barbed wire. As he relied on horses and lightning fast charges to win battles. General Pershing chased him into Mexico. It was the first use of mechanized vehicles for our military, prior to the Great war.
100% epic journey going on team. Inspiring. You are absolutely right about that Blimp. US Customs and Border Protection’s Tethered Aerostat radar system. (TARS) For monitoring illegal crossing and drug and human trafficking. Ride safe and ride often.
Great video guys! Really excited I'll be down at Big Bend in May! I saw that Espresso y Poco Mas in Terlingua had casitas, and there you are! I'm hoping to camp. Love the cooking, looks delicious! Take good care, Nancy - Colorado
I rode an iron butt last year from Dallas to big bend and back. 1300 miles in 24 hrs plus one speeding ticket 😛 THE night sky is totally awesome and more stars than I could count. My next iron butt is to San Diego and back and I’m doing it on a Burgman 🤣
Went on a road trip with my dad to Marfa earlier this year in January when the temperature got down to 7 degrees. Was terribly cold, but got some neat photos of Prada Marfa in the snow!
@@TwoWheelsBigLife I meant current owners, the People. Might as well make it a rest stop and a Photo op. Texas looks very diversified. I am going to plan a ride to Boca Chica and check out SpaceX. Love your content😎 Take Care Out There
Might be the best video yet !!! Btw... in my many excursions across the border, I've never drank anything that wasn't in a sealed bottle.... except for my first trip. I ended up with a bad case of the "revenge" !!!
Greg good possibility. OTOH Ted at the beemer shop has explained to me that the Front BMW shock often seems to fail around the 20,000 mark. Rich and Chris, should they decide to keep riding the BMW's , .... well... invest in an after market front shock as per Teds recommendations.
Hey Chris, I've wondering how you like your new Forma boots? I'm in the market for new boots and looked at these after you mentioned you bought them. I like the looks of them, and I ride a variety of bikes. My latest acquisition is a Ducati Multistrada, and I could use little extra in the leg length arena, it's about the same height as your and Richard's GS's. Now back to watching your Marfa adventure. I tried to book a vintage camper at El Cosmica in Marfa for September, but apparently that's when they have a huge music festival. Okay, back to the road.
You can make a "pot cozy" out of reflective from Lowe's or make one out of a car thingie for the windshield. Sorry can't think of what they are called. Keep your pot water mrs than a towel.
We just have the cheap one you can get in packs of 5 or something for $10. I am however looking into some to make a quality neck gator with our logo on them. Hopefully soon.
Love the videos as usual. Gives us ideas on where we want to go. Just curious though…it’s March 2022 and your videos look like they were filmed over the summer…is that true? Where are you now? Keep’em comin!
Great video guys! I was just hanging out in Fort Davis October last year. Now after watching your video it seems I must go back again this year. 🙂 Did you get a chance to ride 170 out of Presidio to Terlingua? One of my favorite roads in Tx. Ride safe guys.
Glad you got a trailer, so much more comfortable than the tent and Ruby. The videos are great, be safe out there.
God bless you both!! You add so much enjoyment and of course jealousy in my Life with everything going on around the world

Just Chris’s has had an error and a shock failure. Mine blew a little smoke but that’s it. No issues with the GSA.

Wow Kris you have 20,000 miles on the GS already damn 👍👍👍 that’s some serious miles already. It only seemed like yesterday when you bought it 😁😁
I don't know if you've noticed the blimp, serviced from Fort Huachuca, AZ. It services the same cause, and of course a weather station. 🤔

Great video. Nice small town. Would like to know a little about the over pants you guys wear. Stay safe.
Joe I (Rich) wear Daluth Brand Firehose pants and Chris wears a sedici brand
Ft. Davis is home of the Texas Star Party on a ranch there in the dark sky preserve.
Another great video, be sure to visit Bisbee Arizona.
Next time! We did go there last year.
Hey, Rick, tell me again what those pants are that you like for riding. They look like their pretty tuff. Duluth?
Yes sir Duluth the Fire Hose pants. Yes super tough. There’s a video of a guy going down with these and the did not tear through.

I'm surprised you didn't comment on the rock climbing at the Tanks. It has the best climbing in Texas!

We call that the hay box method, a duvet cover works too.👏🇳🇱 NL.
I’m 70 and my grandfather fought against Poncho Villa along the border.
I knew someone that rode with poncho. He was my step dad. But I never really asked much about it. I was a teen. Lol.. he's passed now though.
Cris can I ask you a question? What is a woopti do? Lol.
A succession of small hills when riding on kind of make you think of a roller coaster up and down, woopie
Can you share what kind and where I can get the neck wraps (balaclava face mask) that you wear? Enjoy your videos! Travel safe and thank you!
