If Michael is still going to be the camera man for the SE Alaska trip (iirc from a podcast), he should sign up for the Western Native Trout Challenge put on by the WNTI. There probably isn't a better opportunity to "notch" his Dolly Varden and Coastal Cutthroat tags. This looks like this film is going to be a fun and inclusive look at fishing and the Native Trout Challenge is inherently focused, but a series on the Native Trout Challenge could be a cool way to highlight fishing and native species conservation.
Tripled my catch rate with a Vexilar purchase. Grandson started sneaking it to his holes on the ice. They bought one as well. Just ate pike for breakfast yesterday. Perch and pike mmmmmm....goooooooood!

I'm out of my element! Still just pitching feather jigs and doing somewhat decent on these huge brown trout. Look forward to seeing what you and Michael get into over the next few months.

Nice work on this video. Perch, Crappie and Walleye can't be beat for eating. Flathead Lake is an interesting one if you get up that way. It used to be a great fishery with trophy Lake Trout and Dolly Varden, Kokanee Salmon and Perch. Fish and Game mismanaged the Salmon which were the food that produces Trophy Lakers. Salmon got fished out so Lakers turned to eating the Perch. In the end No Salmon, few Perch and small skinny Lakers....what a shame. Salmon reintroduction efforts and excuses for failure don't add up.

If you ever decide to venture outside MT and want to try Southern Utah let me know? I'm pretty sure if you check out my posts on Randy's website in the Fishing Hole forum you'll see I can find big trout pretty consistently. I go by Big Sky on there. All that aside, great videos, keep up the fun content.

I grew up in the Adirondack Mountains of NY and we had what I thought was some pretty darn good perch fisheries. Until I saw the fat perch you all were catching. I have never seen a fish with that fat of a belly...don't get offended. I am not assuming their status as a perch and I am not fat shaming them. LOL!!! Now that I am retired and living in FL, the only frozen water I like is in my drink. LOL!!! Great video!
@@SnaggedOnBottom gets expensive quick! Suits, augers, electronics, tracks for your side by side, custom ice rods,, all must haves!!! Just ask my wife she'll tell ya I had to have them 😂🤣😂🤣
