- Playing bass along to Soul Intro / The Chicken.
You can just about hear Jaco's bass tone underneath mine, I have done the best to scoop it out, but that is difficult to do and not ruin the whole recording too much.
Anyway I hope you enjoy!
Some videos I just don't understand how anyone could dislike them, this is a perfect example of one. Fantastic cover
Outstanding cover. And great to see the art of sight reading is not dead. Keeping the Jaco groove alive. Well done.
This is by far the best "The Chicken" cover I've ever heard, it's been quite years since I'm listening to it and I don't get bored,
thanks man

Oh maaaaaaaaaaan! Right on the spot! Good cover!
This guy is badass
Good sound nice performance higt Quality good job man
Bravo. Great stuff. I saw Jaco play this with his big band at the Hammersmith Odeon in the early 80s. :)
I saw Weather Report there in 1979!!!
Awesome job considering you're playing it on a fretted bass. It doesn't detract from it at all in this case. Have watched this quite a few times and will come back to it again many more. Thanks!
I had to learn this song for my GCSEs and I can’t get enough of it
Absolutely fantastic, I hope to play this well one day
fantastic!!
Amazing precision and technique! 1-in-1 Jaco's line.
O melhor cover. Exato, preciso. Guri estudioso. Parabéns.
Congratulations from Caracas Venezuela, it is seen that you have studied the song a lot, Jacob Pastorius is one of my great idols in the Electric Bass, As we say in Venezuela: (You are Playing Cabrón) in Spanish "Andas tocando Cabrón"
OH MAN...You smashed everything man.Noone until now approached that close Jaco's ways.
Congratulations!! How many times did you play this song? Hard work
I keep coming back once a while. Great work!
the fact that this guy just sight reading Jaco's bassline is crazy
That's so great! Ha, a little face paint, dorag, and I'd swear you were The Man himself! lol Good work!
this is a damn good cover
Excellent cover my man, Jaco would be proud.
FReakin killer well done WOW !!!!!

God Level!!!
Wow, great work, brother. Love the tone.
Genius
it s a tough bassline to learn !!! i can get one verse but the entire song it s another story ... congratulations great timing and sight reading (!!!) (if you don t read how can you remember the whole song ! you can hardly find two measures alike !)
Absolutely excellent technique, sight reading and sound. Well done mate !!!
D'yaaaam, son!!!!! 🙏🏽♥️
Hi! wonderful performance it sounds great! Can i ask you which book of Jaco Pastorius did you use? I want this score so badly!
Thanks a lot. regards from Colombia!
Hey Paula! Yeah sure, it's called The Essential Jaco Pastorius. By Hal Leonard :) thanks a lot!
Just bought this. Thanks for the tip.
Good call on that question. Checking this book out also. Thanks!
Might be a silly question but you never know: is that written in bass clef?
@@chrisc.4517 hey! yes it is - all in bass clef. also has tablature beneath I believe in case.
great. And sound is very good
respect
nice job! Long live Jaco
Bellissimo!
Jaco would be proud 😊😊😊
Amazing cover !!! 👏👏👏
Those bass lines are absolutely nasty. Nice job
perfect job! wow
Soo good
Great job.
Excellent Man!!! Cheers from Mexico.
bro you nailed it. Phenomenal..and perfect.. I read your other comments and got to know the name of the book as "The essential JP" but I see the description of the book in Amazon as "bass recorded version". What does it mean? also does the book have an audio CD along? if yes, does that have the chicken track minus the bass for you to play on bass? or did you have to cut/EQ the bass off the full recorded track yourself? lemme know bro...thanks
oh yeah just read your description and I see that the recording has Jaco's bass in it which u tried to scoop out(done well). So this book comes with a CD with the real full song. And it isn't a minus bass track, right?
Clement Thomas sorry for late reply! Thanks a lot for the kind words, yeah I just had to EQ the bass out as much as possible! It's not got a CD with it, at least it didn't when I bought the book, I just found the songs and bought them separately. Couple of the main Jaco albums cover most of the tunes in the book :) cheers
Chris Headley's Music Channel Wow coool.

I can see that you are playing note for note from the sheet. That's super incredible reading skills.
He probably 'knows' the majority of the song but use it for reference.

Hi, great job. I have noticed that you have been reading from the sheet while playing. May I ask you where you got the transcription for the bass line of this version of chicken?
It's from "The Essential Jaco Pastorius". It's the only book that has both "Soul Intro" and "The Chicken" of the Jaco Transcriptions you can buy. Published by Hal Leonard.
Bravo!

hey! where did you...only kidding! that was wonderful. and also convincing that is very advanced playing. i can aspire to it i suppose, but im only a beginner. id like you to master some mick karn too, that would be fun to watch as well. well done, i really enjoyed it, Peter from Queensland Australia
Roost Fezza hey thanks a lot! Of course man it's just a matter of time put in hey, I think we're all beginners ha :) I'm not aware of Mick Karn, I'll have to check him out -- cheers for the message man, keep playing!
Mick Karn is awesome but weird
👍
Eu gosto muito desta linha de baixo. Também tem que ser respeitosos comigo . Boa noite divirtam se
Chris why did you chose to play the Bb 7 in the 5th position instead of the 1st position like Jaco does? I'm having a hard time trying to follow along.
Way to go man! By Jimmy Page!
