Thx for replying-I bought vision strip, never upgraded when it became the "legacy" 5 yrs ago. They upped the eq's, preamp is identical. Got the Lindell 50. A5 is next-level?

IMO A5 is the best sounding api out there. But if you got all those api flavors, just get a trial and decide for yourself before you invest in it!
Cause it’s not really a preamp, right? It’s just got a saturation knob, and eq, with a subtle master bus section.
So the UAD kind of has an edge if you use it with your Apollo’s unison pre.
And yeah - it’s worse than that. I’m a broken hearted giants fan haha 😆. It’s a custom jersey, 12 used to be my number throughout peewee through high school.
Color looks off just simply cause of my color grade in the edit.
TOTAL shame about AR though, one of my favorite players left in the league. Old school qb. Looking forward to him coming back.

Steve-Dig your great vids. After using unison pres for 6 years, I got a 1073lb. Being a session guitarist, I was gonna get a 312 for elect guitar (I mic my vintage amps) but now, would you recommend I just get the A5? It's obviously not a pre, but Tons of instances too...I Track w the 1063, & run through A5 for API flavor? Thanks my man!

How do you like this compared to the Universal Audio UAD API Vision Channel Strip?
Both have their uses.
The UAD one is mentioned in my channel all the time.
I genuinely love it, especially as a unison loaded plugin, I love using it when recording a live signal.
Imho - the kit plugins eq section is the best there is.
The saturation from the model on 212l for both the UA and kit sound good, but they sound different.
The UA does give you the dynamics section - which, has an awesome gate/expander that I really love to use.
Honestly, the EQ from kit is worth the price of admission alone.
If you don’t have an Apollo, and don’t need the dynamics, kit wins it for me.
If you have an Apollo, I could see having both, or slightly favoring the UAD-2 simply because of the advantages of unison for live tracking.
But again - the eq’s realism and sound in this kit one is amazing. Both sound great.
I shoot it out in the video at some point im pretty sure. It’s brief but should give you an idea.

I use the audio interface apollo twix, but when recording the screen it's mono sound.🤔

@@TheSteveKinney I changed the input in the i/o as you said but it is still mono. Or maybe it's because of the streaming app I use quick time. app Is it related?
