We promote simple living and post videos here with solutions for saving you money and precious peace of mind!!
Living simply is all about taking back the controls of your life. No more wasting your time, mind, and money. Happiness and freedom aren't down the road for you, they're right here and right in front of you. It has forced us to admit that life doesn't HAVE to be overwhelming, stressful, or a never ending blur of work, home, work, home, McDonald's happy meal.
This channel documents our journey, as a couple, at decluttering our life and taking control of our happiness. We share Moniques Car Life experience, our journey to becoming debt free, our process of saving money to buy an RV, to eventually purchasing our own land. How we cried, laughed, and tried again. So tune in. But more than anything, enjoy a really good story about love and living.

I'm jealous you can sleep that heavy. EVERYTHING wakes me up. Raindrops, falling leaves, distant trucks, one time a cat jumped on the roof and scared me really bad! (Then I made friends with him, got him neutered, and he would come in and sleep with me until somebody decided to take him from the neighborhood or maybe something happened to him. Sad. I miss my carlife kitty.)

Lol, thanks! Sleeping with socks on really helps me during the winter when my car gets cold at night. When making videos, I have a tendency to select music that provokes that type of emotion. I have cooking videos on UA-cam and I use the same type of music, lol. I don’t know why, but I like it 😊.

  • @kuromiscreaming7420

For meditation, something i do is just let my mind wander and not try to stop my trains of thought, rather than trying to force myself to leave my mind blank. i just let my thoughts go, not trying to stop them or change what i’m thinking of, and see where it takes me. blessed be

    • @simmpleenough
      @simmpleenough  3 роки тому +2

It’s good to know someone else does that when meditating. Sometimes, when my mind starts to wonder I’ll let it, but then I’ll start to feel like I’m not “doing it right” so I’ll try to make my mind blank again. I’ll just keep going with my flow and see where it takes me. I appreciate your comment 😊.

I don’t force anything. I surrender and hold space for myself allowing myself to feel while recognizing these thoughts/feelings as a form of communication from my mind and spirit. It’s normal to feel. So I try not to judge what those thoughts/feelings are. Learning this now, especially since we pick up so much from our day and from others, half the time you realize you have adopted fears from others. Keep allowing this to pass and eventually you will reach your inner bliss. Just remember that it’s ok to feel!

... and now I want a p & b slice! Another lovely video. This summer is going to bring a lot of changes for me.. I'm finally debt free... but after living overseas 10+ years I want to return home to my family in the USA. But man..it is so so expensive there... I am really considering van/car life as the way to go. I've been in a 3rd world country long enough to have learned how to manage... I think lots of those things I can apply to van life. Thanks again.

Congrats on beating down your debt! I say go for it! Take control of your happiness. If in the end you're enjoying family and enjoying living inexpensively in your car/van...you will have acquired the inward contentment that most people here only fantasy about! Best of wishes to you!

Your videos are awesome. I'm so glad I found you! ALL the times I've searched for vanlife videos, your videos had never came up in my search results. I finally ran across a black vanlifer and watched some of her videos (I think I looked her up from an interview she did), and then UA-cam apparently said "Oh, you like black people? Here are some black vanlifers then." I had no idea so many black women were living this lifestyle and making videos about it. That's one of the reasons I've been so reluctant to take off. I thought I would be carving new ground. I'm glad to know we're out there and pissed that UA-cam freaking sucks.

      Hi, Moosa here!
I would say between three to four months, prior to her apartment lease ending, we thought-out the setup for the interior living space, and took about one solid month of putting it all together. It required a month only because she wanted to take time and arrange things as smartly as possible.
Several of the adjustments came along the way as we learned what works vs. what doesn't work for her. Thanks for the question!

    • @simmpleenough

The best places to park are places that are open 24 hours, like 24 hour gyms,or truck/rest stops, or the parking lot of a large shopping plaza. Those are my typical choices. I’m filming a Q&A video so leave any extra questions and I’ll try to answer them in the video!

@@simmpleenough you’re so lucky. I’ve been trying for the last 12 years and no luck still. I’m an introvert and I need to feel a certain vibe to connect with someone. Like they have to let me talk and show interest and maybe joke a little. As simple as that sounds, very few people actually do that. What criteria did you have in mind when you were looking? Friends say that I’m being too picky and that I need to be patient with people, but I think that connection cannot be forced. It’s either there or it isn’t. Like I can’t force someone to ask me follow-up questions or crack jokes if it’s not in their nature to do so. I don’t know what I’m doing wrong . I feel like giving up because guys have broken my heart real bad to the point that I felt suicidal after the breakup. I don’t know what I’m doing wrong. I feel very lonely and single so I risk breaking my heart and put myself out there again. Am I wrong in saying that I can’t force myself to have feelings for someone? Should I just commit to making things work with a guy who respects me and treats me well that I don’t have feelings for? I don’t know what to do.

@@simmpleenough Don’t worry, the first year is the worst. Sometimes I cried, because I was so annoyed and couldn’t find a quiet spot. I was on Tenerife then which is a very touristy island. And I was worried for a very long time. Because everybody asked me “are you not afraid” so this thought came to my mind every day. And then it got better. I found other places, I was worried less, and I began to enjoy. Now I really enjoy it, and sometimes when people are around, I sound so self-conscious shouting if they need anything that they are afraid of me, so they disappear. Furthermore, I am not in touristy areas very often now. And there are not many tourists around. So there are less criminals around as well. And I learned they don’t want to hurt you. They don’t want to go to jail. They just won money. So if there is no easy access to anything valuable, they will go away and search elsewhere. But what I really don’t like is the winter and looked on. I have to go 20 to 50 km to a gas station with a shower, whereas outside of lockdown there were swimming pools and gyms which are not open at the moment. I’m sure next winter will be better. I won’t be and show me near then. I will head South in November. Have a great day 🍀❤️

Just found your channel!! I am loving it! I have had my fair share of weirdos, too! Once I was asleep peacefully with no window covers (was my first trip out), and this guy drove up to where I was parked all by myself and he used his flashlight to look inside my car repeatedly!!! I kid you not he just watched me sleep. People are too nosey. I could not sleep for the rest of the night, and had a rough day afterwards because of it.
I am about to head out for my first long distance trip and I made sure to be extra prepared! I have covers for all of my windows (love your window coverage, btw!) and I am mentally prepared to LEAVE if anything makes me uncomfortable like that ever again. It's kind of hard because in a normal home you have to sit with discomfort. It can be really tricky to rewire our brains.

I have the same issue when I meditate. What I’ve been doing is when my mind starts “wandering” and I catch it (haha) I will start to count my breaths and take deep breaths, in 2, 3, 4, hold, out, 2, 3 4 etc. It helps but I still keep wondering when is it going to get better or easier (or will it?) 🤷🏻‍♀️ 🙏
