I was privileged to hear Dinesh speak at TEDx Brisbane. It was shocking to hear the battles he had to fight, not only with his own mind and body, but against an establishment that couldn't see that there are alternatives to every situation and the cookie cutter approach just because, is never the right approach. I am so happy that Dinesh shared his story as it opened my eyes to the fact that we have come so far as a society, but have so far still to go.
We’ve just finished reading your book for our Book Club!! To hear you talk has clinched it altogether very nicely! You deserved that standing ovation, Dinesh!!
What an incredible human. That is a real sense of drive, to be able to go through all of that and still want to help people. You are an absolute inspiration.
Disability IS a social construct! I had a head injury when I was 13. I feel like I have achieved more because of it. I wonder if I could have fathomed what compassion is without this injury. I feel like it has broadened my horizons and deepened the well. We are all wells. How deep will you let your pain dig? When will you lay that pain upon the Savior's alter? I know this was the beginning of my life.
I really agree with you there. It's as those of us who have disabilities, whether they can be seen or not - have the ability to feel so much more compassion and understanding.
What an amazing talk, uplifting. This guy is obviously the kind of doctor we all want, someone who cares and who understands healing starts in the heart.
i was on some strange binge of clips and i've ended here and now i have to rethink my life because this dude is seriously amazing and just wow... perspective.
This is an amazing talk that really speaks to anyone who thinks they have it rough, this man is a great example that we really can be what we were always meant to be!
As I go through life, observing those around me, I've come to define success in life as taking the worst things that happen to us and using them for good, to help our fellow humans on their journey. This doctor is an example of such success. His story is a reminder to all of us, to spend just the required minimum of time mourning our losses, then to gather our forces and proceed onward! I will share his story with my patients who have suffered such devastating injuries. My encouragement means so little, as I have not lived through such a thing... while his means so very much, because he KNOWS. Thank you, doctor ❤️
As well as being a good caring doctor, you are a great motivation speaker. You are such a inspiration to others. You didn’t give up, you excelled and achieved your dream. We can learn a lot from you. I am amazed at how getting up hours early to train as a doctor and do your job didn’t put you off and give up. Your Mum has been such a blessing to help and support to you.
You know, there are a lot of people right now who feel life is over because we have had to stop everything we do everyday normally. They need to see this fine man and realize life is now, and we we are is only limited by fear. This is such a good talk a must see.
Dinesh you are an amazing human being. So proud of my fellow Kandy citizen.
This man is a healer!!! no question.

This was my afternoon doctor at the hospital last Friday, he’s really a nice and warm doctor
He is amazing, what a man...

The thought of being hurt that bad but still focused to finish what I had started is not something I think I am capable of.
More doctors like this please!

Proof, a great doctor must have a great heart, not hands, not mind, but a great heart.
I have nothing but respect and admiration for you, Sir. Hope you succeed more in your new endeavors.

Needed to hear this today, feeling like I can do less as I get older, the only barriers are the ones we think we have.
I was down today thinking how hard this lock down is, then I see this. Puts it all in order. Thanks Dinesh, hope you see this as you turned me around.
It is never what we might have been, it will always be who we are and what we will become.
Now thats true.
Oh Helen thats lovely, and a perfect description for this young man.
