OMG. You have no idea how EXCITED I AM YOU TRIED THESE OUT. I work for a HiFi retailer in London and Dali is and will always be my first true love when it comes to sound reproduction. I own the iO6. I own their Dali Kubik One soundbar. In the process of getting my Dali Rubicon 2s (Bookshelf Speakers) etc.
These headphones have been so underestimated by many people who walked into the store. Everyone would ask about Sony or which headphones to get. The biggest and determinating question was sound quality or Noise Cancellation. DALI is not very popular here in the UK. They are a brand you introduce to people and to everyone's surprise they then get to see the quality difference.
I love my Caramel White pair to bits and I wish people would stop believing in the hype mainstream manufacturers create around their products and take everything with a pinch of salt. I could go on and on and on but there's no point... 😂
Thank you so much for your amazing review. It has made me really happy.
Hope you and the entire family stays safe.

How would you compare the Dali IO6 to the Bowers & Wilkins PX7?

    • @natibanet1133
      @natibanet1133 3 роки тому +2

@@timwolber833 I own the Dali's and used to own the B&W's before, until they broke :((
So in my opinion the B&W's are a tad more high-focussed and so have a little less bass, although it does dig deep, just not that loud.
The Dali's also offer good details and very pleasant highs too, but just have that more present bass which is nice for pop etc., though definitely nowhere near overpowering the mids and highs. Personally I find that the Dali's literally have the perfect balanced sound so they are nice for every genre. Very neutral.
Only reasons I woud favor the B&W's is because of the design which I love, I enjoy them more for classical and other instrumental music and my memories with them just make me smile :)
      Hope this (still) helps you.

Ron here is a tip how to test the noise cancellation!
Take your two pairs and sit in front of your hi-fi. Put on one pair and enable NC. Start with low volume and with your remote keep increasing the volume on the hi-fi system. Until you can start hear it. Then measure dB or take note of what volume you have/got.
Repeat the above with the other pair of headphones.
Those headphones that you could play loudest on your hi-fi system before you could hear it, has the best noise cancellation (and physical construction). 🎶
Good luck with your testing. 🥰

NC isn’t as good as the AirPods max or the BO H95. I think it’s close to the H95 though which are relatively close to the AirPods. The sound quality is better than both the much more expensive H95 and it’s competitors. I have been quite happily surprised with the clarity and consistency. I actually turned in my H95 and am using the IO 6.

I remember standing in HiFi Klubben, trying out their wall of headphones, as I wanted a proper pair. In comparison to these, even the bestselling Sony headphones had a bit, even if just a tiny bit, of mud in the bass end. These had no mud, just crystal clear and got all frequencies in focus. And thus I got the IO-4. the variation without the noise cancellation.

    • @LexRudera
      @LexRudera Місяць тому +1

@@alexf1515 Admittedly I use my headphones in all settings, inside outside, music and whatever else, as my main pair. They aren't getting pampered in an audiophile corner, carefully put away when done with.
I got the pair on the 15th of february 2020, and had the pads changed, probably around the time I made the comment. They probably could do with another change soon, but I can stretch it out a little longer.
Sound-wise, It's great as ever, I think, ignoring one niggle, I put down either unlucky speaker batch, or my rough handling.
I learned to not put them one while still having damp long hair after the shower, as the right side is being a little scratchy sounding at a very specific frequency range in the low end, and only at a high enough volume. It's still a little bit audible, when dry and worn normally, so I'm probably gonna get that side changed, when money is there for it, but it is very hard to notice in the first place, so I'm unbothered 95% of the time with them on.
Basically don't use them to listen to music in the sauna or in a steamy bathroom. The cones are probably not happy about that.
Hope this blogpost did it for you! I got a little carried away.

Headphone jack is a safety feature? I'm new to ANC headphones, not even interested for myself, just researching for my wife but as far as I can tell the major ANC headphones (Sony WH-1000MX2/3/4, Bose Comfort ii, Microsoft Surface 2 and probably more) mostly have the ability to connect via a headphone jack.

But for almost all of them, the result is awful. The only other bluetooth headphones that I know of that actually sound OK wired are Sennheiser's. Sony is left with its awful, muddy, default unequalized sound, B&W PX7 *requires* the headphones to be on even when wired, Bose 700 sounds much worse if the headphones aren't on, etc. etc.

My closed Denon Ah d7200 has "crazy" wide soundstage. It's wider than my Stax L500 and wider than my Fostex T50rp mk3. It's the same as my Nighthawks, but the sound is also taller on the Denon.
I use my Denon with Marvel Spider-man on the PS4. It really is like the sounds are around me, instead of in my head.

That's the hiss sound of electronics when connected over bluetooth, I had a Sennheiser BT 4.40 and they solved it by turning off electronics when there is no bluetooth signal, but it is just a byproduct of the current technology used, hope they get rid of it in the future.

Jack Jones They still do though, but now, unlike then, they develop their own drivers (woofers, tweeters /ribbon). The hybrid combination really really makes a difference and takes the edge off. The ribbon only take over at around 14kHz. Way lower level than what the dome can actually reach. Therefor allowing for more space, clarity and even wide sound stage. ❤️

I guess people will now want to compare these with the Sony WH-1000XM3s. I own the Sony headphones and the dialled in tone of them is far too warm, for my liking. I have to pull the low-mids by about 4Dbs to get them to sound even. When wired and powered off, they're just plastic sounding. Not good. Otherwise, they are excellent, and I stopped using the cable, when powered on, because there was no difference in quality, provided you connect using Sony's LDAC bluetooth codec.

Got the Sony xm3's about a year ago, best buy of my life. Then i got the Dali Io6 a few days ago. Didnt like them at first, sounded thin and weak compared to the sony's. But i kept using them for maybe 10hrs and they started to Sound better and better, dont know if its a burn in process or if i just got used to their Sound. Now 3 days later i love them, well worth the money. Unfortunatly my Sonys sound really bad now that im used to the IO6's, i mean they sound really muddy. If u get the IO6's then use them with ANC on, it sounds better than anc off. My Sonys to me sounds best with anc off.

@@robt9048 Yeah, I have to add some strong EQ to fix the sound of the Sonys, it's one of two things I don't like about them (the other is the poor sound when powered off).

    • @robertmarshall7712

I've got the H.ear on 2 which imo are tuned better than the xm3 with a more even sound across the frequency range. I think wired or with bluetooth they sound pretty similar, perhaps even slightly better with bluetooth. The trouble with bluetooth is the syncing with Netflix which is bad and there is no aptx low latency mode. I must say I can't really notice a difference in sound quality with LDAC and I like to use the equalizer to bring out more treble with most music which you can't do with LDAC codec.

I still find it amazing how they can get full range headphone drivers to sound great - the design of the cone is definitely unique to headphones. But with paper cones? That is something. A quick google shows that yes, they are in production but they do seem to be composited with some other materials like polyurethane and such.
I actually had a similar reaction when I first saw these become available online - yet another bluetooth headphone debut from a company that doesn't really do headphones, why should we even bother. Now I'll be sure to try them on when I can, even though my XM3s do a great job filling in my portable ANC headphones niche.
