    I own the Io-4 and find the sound quality amazing. They run for 60 hours, which is quite long and you can use their built in DAC to play music directly from USB on your PC. Lossless up to 24bit 96Khz. Awesome! No need for a Dragonfly. I have tried most other brands, incl the Sony wh1000mx4 which I find murky and muddy sounding. The Dalis are crystal clear and never fatiguing. With plenty of tight bass if the recording contains it. No artifically added bass here which seems to be a trend with other brands.

      Tell me, what condition are they in today? Because according to many commentators, they fall apart very quickly, that is, the quality of the material of the ear pads leaves much to be desired

    I really love how these headphones sound. Maybe because I enjoy something a bit more neutral sound (not an overemphasis on bass.). I think that’s why I kind of prefer this over Sony, for example.

    • @afrog2666
      @afrog2666 4 роки тому

      Sony`s house sound is definitely V-shaped yeah, so if you want neutral, you`d have to go with thir studio monitor headphones or DJ headsets (some of which are still slightly V-shaped so beware lol)
      I equalize so it` not really an issue :)

    Got the io4 and I love them. Great analytic, flat sound, insane battery life and comfortable. My Sennheiser pxc 550 are trash compared to these.

      Have the io4 and the treble is really harsh in them. I'm not new to flat analytical sound and it's certainly not analytical, just treble peaky badly tuned drivers.
      I'm kind of allergic to wireless headphones and the only pair with bearable SQ was the PXC550 II...strange!!

    I' m a little surprised the ANC is not as good as Sony's because Dali used Sony module ANC not to have to develop a new one.
    About paper cones they are used without problem on Triangle loudspeakers for many years. Cellulose is used because it is light reactive without distortion.

    • @Currawong

      Where does it say that Dali used a "Sony module ANC"? Obviously Sony is not going to sell their best ANC systems to other companies.

    My only problem with these is an audible hiss which is noticeable in quieter music. They have a higher noise floor than other BT sets I've owned such as Sony xm3, PX7 and even Bose 700. I'm on my second pair. The first had terrible hiss particularly in the left cup. Second pair is better but it's still there. It's a shame as I think they're the best Bluetooth set I've heard.

      @@HellAD They had this batch of faulty headphones with hiss and some issues with the on/off button; they should give you a new pair if you're within warranty, I just received mine some weeks ago, brought them to the shop 7 months after the purchase as I read at several forums the same issue. It still has hiss, but way less.

    Currawong, I noticed that you mentioned that these are one of the only "paper cone" driver headphones on the market, which is not entirely true. Cause, Denon has a few high end current headphones, that also empty paper cone drivers. Just thought I'd let you know. Great video as always though!

    • @Currawong
      @Currawong  4 роки тому

      Thanks! I haven't looked into Denon's headphones for years. I might have tried them out in April if the Tokyo headphone show hadn't been cancelled. I might have to look into borrowing some of their headphones for review sometime.

  • @itsfilipbitch5545
    @itsfilipbitch5545 4 роки тому +3

    I find the review to be very honest and informative. No issues what do ever. Having said that, I can't help but get irritated and annoyed at the misusage if words in contexts or comparisons the wrong way.
    For example, i haven't seen a reviewer not mention the "bass" issue. Always explaining DALIs go for a neutral sound signature, so won't have as much bass but enough. That slonrt, to a consumer that watches you reviews or anyone else's sends a worrying signal. The way I'd explain it is by using a simple word such as TRANSPARENCY.
    Instead of putting the Sony's as the STANDARD or insinuating as if Sony's and their muddy bass sound signature is the standard, which a whole lot of BS. Any person with a decent pair pair of ears and some common sense will be able to tell the DALIS sound better. FACT.
    No once have I heard or read a review of these headphones without NOISE CANCELLATION mentioned which of course is won by Sony, but no one mentions the benefit of having active noise cancellation. IT DOESN'T JUST TO CUT OUT THE NOISE. IT HELPS BRING THE MUSIC UP CLOSE AND PERSONAL. In order to achieve that you need to maintain a certain tonal balance as mentioned. Now, the Sony's night cut out more noise but their SOUND QUALITY SUFFERS MAJORLY.
    So whilst that's okay, little insights like these could actually help which are actual FACTS. it's all over the documentation on Dali's website and should be mentioned in reviews. As DALI mentioned themselves the magnets for the headphone speaker driver is specifically made and engineered for their requirement. Unlike the Sony or Bose who use cheap a*s drivers and on high volumes the drivers themselves sound as if they are about to blow up.
    It really would make if fair when mentioning and doing your own research. I own the exact same pair and I work in the hifi industry. Now...these are my two scents when finally having the opportunity to test out real shit.

    Habe selbst einen DALI Kopfhörer in dieser Farbe. Der Klang ist für mich ist sehr gut , aber das der pseudo Lederüberzug der Kopfhörerpolsterung der sich nach einem Monat abzubröseln beginnt wie bei einem 19,99 € Gerät ist ein " ABSOLUTES NO GO ".Ich verwende keine Gesichtscreme ( MANN )habe aber oft einen 3 Tage Bart. Auch löst sich der Überzug an Stellen die ich mit Händen oder Bart so gut wie fast nie erreiche.
