Dead ass thought about Jeremy from like 10 years ago soon as Lex showed up! Back when no one had seen Lex from BVS yet and Jeremy hoped he could just do one turn and sell the character in the trailer. I think Gunn was watching and agreed 🔥🔥
I gives me tbe vibe of a nice classic superhero movie that's true to the source material. Not a gritty reimagining or a quirky self-parody thing. Just an honest good old Superman movie. And I think that's what we need right now.
The trailer starting with Superman being Yamcha'd was definitely interesting. Jokes aside what I found cool was how he saved the kid. He could've grabbed her and flown away but he decided to just tank the hit. As if he will never think for a second before taking a hit.
Plus it's incredibly cinematic! haha... I think they started the trailer like that to dissuade people from thinking he'll be another 'invincible' Superman. A lot of people that aren't avid fans of Superman see him as invulnerable and boring. He is supposed to be the embodiment of hope and courage, but courage is found when you are vulnerable and fearful and you push through it anyway. Eh, that's my take anyway...
@@darkwyve He is literally indestructible tho. Besides Kryptonite and Magic, he has no weakness. I'm not a fan of weak Superman. Idk why everyone wants him to be all soft and relatable. This isn't Marvel.

He's not being shown as weak, but vulnerable, and *that* is important, that they focus just as much on the *man* in Superman, to make him relatable enough for people to draw inspiration and hope from him.

While Richard Donner's Superman will always be my favourite one, Man Of Steel holds a special place in my heart as that was the first ever movie that I saw in theatres with my late dad. How I wish he was alive to see a new fresh take on the character that we haven't seen in a while 😢
I really want to look forward to this movie, especially since I loved James Gunn's work in the Guardians of the Galaxy trilogy, and also Suicide Squad was a lot of fun. What has me worried from the trailer is that with all the extra side-characters, your Krypto, your Justice League (Society?), your big-ass dragon, I'm worried there will be maybe too many moving parts to tell a cohesive story. I'm probably wrong, if anyone can get it right, it's Gunn, but I'm really not sure what tone to expect here. Anyway, fingers crossed, waiting for this release.
Like I said, I hope my first impression is wrong. Just seems like a lot to include in the first teaser. Imagine what they might have left to reveal in a full trailer.
A lot of things that concern me. But as long as it hit me in the feels. In today's world, we need hope. We need optimism. We need that unwavering sense of kindness and compassion, that feeling that even with all the darkness, someone good will do the right thing just because it's right. We need a symbol that lifts us up, inspires us, and never gives up on us. We need more than a hero. We need a super hero.
Thank you Jeremy for being balanced in your optimistic reaction to the trailer, along with the questions it leaves you with. Much more refreshing than the two extremes of either shitting on it because “meh! It’s not Cavill, so I’m throwing a tantrum, meh!!” or shilling for it melodramatically in order to retain coveted “access” like I’ve seen in other reaction videos.
I'm gonna mention it because I'm about 100 comments deep and no one has bothered to mention it, but that giant glowing thing is fighting someone else. Notice the green beam separate from the purple? And then at one point the whole thing is green and struggling? It's fighting Guy. That's why Supes isn't in a big rush, Guy seems to be handling it.
I think all the heroes will be corporate (guy gardener etc) or monsters (creature commandos) but superman will be the first true superhero - fighting for what is right rather than a corporation or government. And this will inspire future heroes, so he’s not the first superhero in the world but the first one who represents being a hero
I think it's a stylistic choice that maybe overcorrected a bit.. they want to make sure this looks absolutely nothing like the Snyder DCEU. It's successful at that. It doesn't feel remotely like that universe so far.
I think "Bright" is the word what you are looking for. Past DC movies are very "Dark" to the point that most people start memeing. This doesn't look as "Dark" as previous ones.

A lot of people are complaining about him looking defeated. But you have to give him enemies that are an actual threat or else there won't be any stakes. I think it makes sense anyway.
YES!!! I'm out here saving humans as I type this, because of this trailer. This is how you present Superman!! We have not had a comic accurate Superman on the big screen since 1980 (Superman 2 with Christopher Reeve). That's 44 years, very tragic for DC fans. In the scene where they’re sitting down, take another look at the action outside the window. You can clearly see the Green Lantern ring glowing all over in the background. That’s why he isn’t in a hurry-the others clearly have everything under control.
Yes, I'm not the only one who thought that was hilarious. If only that actually happened in the movie. Just a really good Superman movie and then one scene that is just a joke.
1:35 If you notice, all of the other super-people are wearing similar costumes. I think Superman stands out because he's the only superperson that's neither controlled by the government (like the Creature Commandos) nor a part of a team (like the Justice League). So he has the freedom to actually help and take care of people, wich the other superpeople do not. Also, that big orb in the back is probably Solaris, an artificial Sun that just hates Superman and in the comic James Gunn is taking inspiration from, Solaris actually teams up with Luthor to kill Superman because they both just fucking hate him.
this movie got me excited to be a comic book fan again. never really liked superman like that but this movie might change things a bit. batman has always been my goat but i can see him sharing the light in my eyes with his fellow leaguer
One thing not many are talking about is David Cornswet himself. This guy makes a great Superman. He wears the suit well which is actually hard to do. And he seems to nail the part where he needs to look kind and non-threatening sometimes, but that scowl he puts on transforms him into something terrifying (which he should be when angry). Kudos to that casting decision.
Totally understand this critique, but I’m optimistic because it’s Gunn. He did a great job with Guardians, so I trust him to juggle multiple side characters

The only thing this movie has going for it it that it's bright. Henry Cavil is the perfect Superman to include the suit. Also did they really hire Pruitt Taylor Vince for Jonathan Kent. Completely wrong actor to play Pa Kent, sorry but the guy looks like he's mentally challenged.
I will say that was the best Yamcha impersonation I've ever seen by an almost god like being
0:50 “….or the rest of us men” hit a little to close to home with this joke

"Look Up. It's Jeremy" 😀
Jeremy’s only up when he’s high
with another back to back videooo
Dead ass thought about Jeremy from like 10 years ago soon as Lex showed up! Back when no one had seen Lex from BVS yet and Jeremy hoped he could just do one turn and sell the character in the trailer. I think Gunn was watching and agreed 🔥🔥
Yo da goat Jeremy! Been watching your videos since the beginning! Happy to see ya still going strong!
Stop sucking up, he isnt gonna let you do a cameo
Imagine whistling for Super Girl
would be instantly cancelled
He'd be calling her out of the kitchen.
@@FightforDeath34 she’s his cousin 😬
I gives me tbe vibe of a nice classic superhero movie that's true to the source material. Not a gritty reimagining or a quirky self-parody thing. Just an honest good old Superman movie. And I think that's what we need right now.
Same here.
@@darkwyve exactly my thought. Putting that as his fist scene in the trailer is like a good plan.
@@darkwyve He is literally indestructible tho. Besides Kryptonite and Magic, he has no weakness. I'm not a fan of weak Superman. Idk why everyone wants him to be all soft and relatable. This isn't Marvel.
@@bernardheadspeth9001 You really aren't a fan of Superman if you think that. You're clearly just a fan of the movies. If you'd ever read a comic or watched any of the animated content you'd realize how ridiculous your comment it.
He's meant to be invulnerable compared to us, but there are tons of enemies on his level in the DC universe that can easily make him bleed or mess him up. He's not being shown as weak, but vulnerable, and *that* is important, that they focus just as much on the *man* in Superman, to make him relatable enough for people to draw inspiration and hope from him.
@@darkwyve People need to stop looking at a comic book character for inspiration. It's fucking pathetic. Superman is a pure hearted walking world destroyer. Nothing human or relatable about that. Clark is human. Superman is not. Btw I'm still going to watch the 🎥 so chill out with that true fan shit
While Richard Donner's Superman will always be my favourite one, Man Of Steel holds a special place in my heart as that was the first ever movie that I saw in theatres with my late dad. How I wish he was alive to see a new fresh take on the character that we haven't seen in a while 😢
I am sure he got to see all dailies and post production material already 😉 He's more excited for you to be seeing it.
Your dad will be watching it with you
Same. That one just hits different for me.
That bowl cut aint doing nathan fillion any favors 😂
It looks like they're having fun with it, and that's the kind of Superman movie we need.
No we don't
@@devilman7670 ME HATE FUN. Cry about it Snyder bro.
Not the biggest Superman fan but this movie looks pretty good based off the trailer. Could be a great start for DC
Yeah. They'll have the beginning of justice league in the movie also sense there will be a hall of justice in it
I just want them to work on solo superheroes before doing Justice League again😅
Pretty ballsy to throw a can at Superman, let alone any person in a crowded setting
I honestly was thinking the same thing and wondering if he would it up in 2 movies.
The Incredibles had quite a few heroes and characters but the focus was always on the Parr family. Superman will be the same.
They’re just side characters. Every movie has those
Like I said, I hope my first impression is wrong. Just seems like a lot to include in the first teaser. Imagine what they might have left to reveal in a full trailer.
Man, you have WAY too much faith in him.
3:52 point is what makes this whole video special, nicely done good sir! 🫡
Perfect 👌
Who has been waiting all day for this? 🙋🏽♂️
me bruh me
Ive been waiting all week
I been waiting since Gunn took over
Needing another man's opinion that bad you actually " waited all day " for it? Lol yikes. Your father raised you to be like that?
Yup
Your 'can of pears' line is perhaps the funniest things you've ever said. I teared up from laughing. 😂
Love to see nicholas holt getting more jobs lately yeaaah
not my pick for lex, but at least its not bvs lex either.
I think all the heroes will be corporate (guy gardener etc) or monsters (creature commandos) but superman will be the first true superhero - fighting for what is right rather than a corporation or government. And this will inspire future heroes, so he’s not the first superhero in the world but the first one who represents being a hero
So... the boys?
Loved your thoughts on the Superman teaser! Your excitement is infectious. Can't wait for more-keep sharing those movie insights! 😊
Been waiting for this.
I’m 50/50 with it. It’s too clean too polished like everything feels like a set and not a lived in world
I think it's a stylistic choice that maybe overcorrected a bit.. they want to make sure this looks absolutely nothing like the Snyder DCEU.
It's successful at that. It doesn't feel remotely like that universe so far.
I think "Bright" is the word what you are looking for. Past DC movies are very "Dark" to the point that most people start memeing. This doesn't look as "Dark" as previous ones.
It is a comic book movie, not everything has to be realistic.
@@mikeylejan8849 Its not about realism, its about immersion. When everything looks like a Greenscreen, the World feels fake and you lose the Connection with it.
@@ahabduennschitz7670 that is your opinion.
That slow mo scene where he saves the kids is just incredibly excellent! 🤙🤙🤙🤙
2:16 This is the last couple of minutes of the movie same as when Spiderman partially fought Rhino at the end of Amazing spiderman 2.
We gonna talk about Superman flinching at an aluminum can thrown at his noggin', after taking a bullet to the eye like it was a soft breeze?
Thank you! Feel like I’m the only one laughing at this
Just because he can't be hurt by it, doesn't mean he can't feel it or be startled by someone doing that to him. We'll see how it plays out in the movie.
Don't mix Returns with this one
I didn't see him FLINCH. His head just slightly moved 😅
Buddy, it's not a flinch of physical harm. It's a flinch of emotional harm because who likes when people throw their trash at you out of hate for you.
Y'all proving that Superman is highly understood today. He is a man with nearly God like power but all he wants is to be like the people he protects. All he wants is to be a normal man living a normal life. Just like how he experienced the Kent's that raised him. But he is so powerful that he can never be a mere man.
*Way* too many people are *way* too fixated on he's a strong guy that punches other strong guys.
A lot of people are complaining about him looking defeated. But you have to give him enemies that are an actual threat or else there won't be any stakes. I think it makes sense anyway.
"It's a bird, it's a plane, it's a-"
Poomf!
"...falling rock."
That got me laughing😂
Yamcha
I knew it! Jeremy sleeps in his leather jacket!
This movie will make a gazillion dollars. The number of channels reviewing a teaser is proof. Nuts
YES!!! I'm out here saving humans as I type this, because of this trailer. This is how you present Superman!! We have not had a comic accurate Superman on the big screen since 1980 (Superman 2 with Christopher Reeve). That's 44 years, very tragic for DC fans. Humans who don't read Superman comics, have no idea how he's supoosed to be, the movies have been messing him up, and it breaks my heart. The King, The Original Superhero, the Daddy of them all is finally here, and as a life long Superman fan, Terrance can't wait.
TERRANCE OUT
I cried watching the trailer. It's like the comics from my uncle and grandfather's stash were being used as storyboards, and how to present an actual hero character. Krypto has his moment to save his person! This looks so damn good, and Terrence, I'm so happy I am on the right side of this when I see you showcasing the failure of cinematic comic book stories over forty years.
How was Man of Steel not comic accurate, in your opinion?
@@TheCamBeardhe couldn’t tell you bc he doesn’t read comics nor does he care about Superman
@TheCamBeard What kind of laughable question is that? Have you read Superman comics? Superman is not supoosed to be dark and serious, he's not Batman. Superman is supposed to represent hope, and he should be a man of the humans. Not some non smiling, neck snappin, doesn't have a difference between his Clark Kent and Superman, letting his father die character.
TERRANCE OUT
@@Mrikeepgettinmoneyagain 🤣Another laughable, fake DC fan speaks. I've read more Superman comics than you can Google. Miss me with your missing brain cells.

Good trailer review. Now I think I’ll see it. Good reviewin’ bro
Saving tee little girl was wise. The superhero genre has been so undermined that you have to show that the hero does good things; it is not assumed.
Really liked the teaser. I'm cautiously optimistic.
I love that he's embracing all the fictional markers of a Superman universe, like the Metropolis Meteors (where they shot at the Guardians baseball stadium in my hometown) and Big Belly Burger, and GBN News, etc. it's a lived-in sci-fi/fantasy world. Also how Metropolis looks like a city of tomorrow, bright and shining.

3:17. I don’t think Jeremy has seen “My adventures with Superman” or “Superman and Lois.”
"My Adventures With Superman" was an INSULT to all us Superman lovers! That show was 100% wrong! Nothing in it was right!

Yes, the cast is chock full of heroes and villains (possibly too many), so it's fine to kill off a few, but Krypto is fucking off limits! :)
Something will definitely happen to him, it’s literally free outrage
He suffers a horrible and painful death like John Wick's dog

Looks absolutely fucking great. James Gunn knows how important this movie is for the new DCU and he's also aware that people know him for light hearted comedic movies with some heart thrown in but he's clearly trying to show us that this isn't your typical James Gunn movie. It looks amazing. I can't wait to watch this thing
“Or the rest of us men”
Yes
0:21 No big deal. He's only the FIRST SUPERHERO EVER created. LOL My life-long favorite will always be Spidey. But, thanks to Christopher Reeve, a little 4 year old believed Superman had walked OFF THE PAGE and into the real world.....of 1978.
Well, technically it was Namor, but Supes was the first majorly popular one.
I like the choice to open the trailer with Superman actually being saved. That's interesting. I hope there are more subversions in the movie. It looks great.
1:45
That's not Guy Gardner that's Harry's dumb friend Lloyd from 'Dumb and Dumber' with that haircut 💈
😂😂brooooo hahahahhahaha
When are you uploading your end of year lists i look forward to them every year. NUMBAH ONE!!!!
In the scene where they’re sitting down, take another look at the action outside the window. You can clearly see the Green Lantern ring glowing all over in the background. That’s why he isn’t in a hurry-the others clearly have everything under control.
This video is a master class on how to make a video about a trailer without making a video about a trailer.
3:52 is *LOL!*
Yes, I'm not the only one who thought that was hilarious. If only that actually happened in the movie. Just a really good Superman movie and then one scene that is just a joke.
*Are you going to review Sonic 3?*
Kal saves little girl in very cinematographic way, Music choice, They got me, I'm in.
My only issue is that it looks like the same universe as The Flash movie , cinematography wise.
this movie got me excited to be a comic book fan again. never really liked superman like that but this movie might change things a bit. batman has always been my goat but i can see him sharing the light in my eyes with his fellow leaguer
that haircut on guy gardner is proper, thank the lord lol i love it
One thing not many are talking about is David Cornswet himself. This guy makes a great Superman. He wears the suit well which is actually hard to do. And he seems to nail the part where he needs to look kind and non-threatening sometimes, but that scowl he puts on transforms him into something terrifying (which he should be when angry). Kudos to that casting decision.
To me, feels like gonna be 3hrs of getting the kitchen sink thrown at me.
Totally understand this critique, but I’m optimistic because it’s Gunn. He did a great job with Guardians, so I trust him to juggle multiple side characters
Thank you. I thought I was the only one who felt this way. But I've underestimated Gunn before, and he comes through. We'll see.
James Gunn has his strengths but also his faults.
I ok with all the other scene's but the other charactors they showed us are giving me CW vibes
Trailer makes me concerned they're going to try and cram so much into the run time that it ends up a mess.
For the first time after watching a superman movie trailer I actually want to go to watch the movie. Then again its a James Gunn movie.
Loved the trailer. I just want Superman to be uplifting, exciting, and a hero we can cheer for.
I remember when I watched the trailer this morning and it got to the part in the thumbnail I thought “man, this guy looks exactly like Nathan Fillion”
And lo and behold, two scenes later, Nathan Fillion appears.
